"Cool"? Not really.
For one thing, there's easier force-blast figures to acquire and use than a Mace Windu - Obi-Wan, Anakin and Plo Koon all come to mind. Plus there's the fact that it's also easier to crack open the torsos of the two figures, swap out the heads and re-glue the force-blaster's torso (or even just put the force-blaster's arms in the Darth Maul torso so that it could both shoot and strike and glue that torso back together instead) instead of cutting, gluing and having to worry about the head getting knocked/blasted off or coming off if you try to turn it, all it takes is the X-Acto knife and a little patience.
And that's assuming that anyone would WANT to use a Darth Maul, a hard to find figure in and of itself, as fodder for this project. Maybe if you have extra Mauls or just don't care for the one you already have, but I can't really see it happening that often...
