So I finally got my hands on the SM3 Tourney set a while back, but I'm befuddled with the Mega Spidey. I checked for threads, house rules, etc, and even MasterAttacktix, but no real help. The questions I have are as follows:
1. How the heck do I attack with him? The instructions are of no use, as they don't actually say or show HOW to attack with him. Do I turn the knob? Do I push Spidey? Do I give him a single "flick" to get him going, or do I keep going until he connects?
This leads to the sub-question: If I manually move Spidey through his attack, can I continue to twist until he completes a full revolution, regardless of how many figures he connects with/defeats?
2. Can he attack backwards? I would assume this to be no different in practice than the "reverse uppercut," so it would likely depend on the thoughts regarding that...
I had at least one other, but darned if I didn't forget it. Maybe I'll remember it and tack it on later.

It took quite a bit of digging (even for me), but I found this thread that goes into this debate at great length, starting on page 2. As you'll note, there's no strong consensus on your first question, and I think you're right that the second question depends on how a person plays "backward uppercutters". A third possible question might be "Can you keep his base rotated backward so that the targets can't be knocked down with a launcher?", in which case I'd say "Yes, but some people consider it dirty/sneaky/not kosher." Personally, I think the 'bro needs to make the targets trigger if they're hit from the front or the rear if the "backward base immunity" isn't desired - but if the current design is all part of the strategic considerations, then I say let 'em keep the targets up if they're attacked from a rear position.

I think the potential to block the targets with other figures (as I often do) makes the Megas tough enough. I'm squarely in the camp that believes there should always be a chance that a good shot will take out any figure. Even figures that are "tripodding" have some vulnerabilities. Turning Megas around so that they are virtually impossible to defeat seems pretty lame, especially if you continue to take advantage of their attack capabilities.

Thnx in advance The box says Tournament Set, Spiderman 3 on the front, and Spiderman 3 Tournament Set on back with the Attacktix logo on it in several places. I would think it is just called the Spiderman 3 Tournament Set, which as noted before is kind of silly as Mega aren't tournament legal. Oh well.
