Perhaps Im stating the obvious, but when Mystique gets to use her Effect, it seems to me that she is out of the game forever (meaning she doesn't get to go into the defeated pile and then possibly come back through a Rally special power). However, the figure that Mystique got to take her place can certainly be in the defeated pile and comeback.
I base this on the wording of "remove this figure from the game" written on the Effect Base. This is similar to Blackheart, where he gets to totally remove a defeated figure from the game forever.
Is this what other people think as well?

I think it's simpler then that. She's not defeated, so she can't go in the defeated pile, simple. So yes I agree with you.

Three ways to think this through logically and all three point to the same conclusion...
1. The wording specifically states "Remove this figure from the game" and not "Place this figure in the defeated pile". 2. As Big Base Mace said, Mystique was never specifically defeated. However, Vengeance slightly rules out this line of thought. 3. From a "pure-logic" perspective, Mystique transformed into whoever she possessed. If Mystique possessed/transformed into Wolverine and then Wolverine dies, does it make sense that both Mystique and Wolverine are in the same defeated pile?
Therefore, I'd say Mystique goes to the same place as the figures that are Vanquished by Blackheart, The Land Of No Return.

To me this effect is flawed in the same way transform is flawed.
When Mystique changes her appearance her original appearance isnt dead, thats absurd. She can change back when ever she wants.
Exactly the same when referring to transform. If optimus prime transforms to robot mode the truck insnt dead. He changes back at will.
Therefore, it is my opinion that in both of these instances the figure that is being "removed" from the game should be placed in back-ups. Its the only thing that seems logical to me, but I know that it will never be "officially" ruled on in this manor.

I agree with everything grievous said.
malform brings up a good point though, with how mystiques power works she should be able to change back into herself. But that wouldn't work in the world of attacktix because that would just open a huge can of worms: What about Wolverines regeneration rate? Should Hulk become exponentially stronger every time he stands up after being knocked down? What about Captain America getting his shield back after he throws it? You get where I'm going.

I really dont see why it would open up any cans of anything. In my mind mystique's power should allow her figure to be placed in back-ups when possessing another figure. Then, there should be a further stipulation that would nullify the special effect of the figure thats possessed (which would at this point really be her right?), specifying that if the possessed figure falls with a white special window; mystique returns to play from back-ups. Oh, and if they could make a hulk that gets stronger after every knock down that would be awesome. I just feel that any and every special ability a character has should be represented in the best way possible. You shouldnt change that ability to fit into the game, you should adjust the game to fit in the ability. These abilities are what defines these characters, and in most cases these characters have had these abilities for many many more years than attacktix has existed (mystique has been around for 29 years). And really the game is set up to adjust in the ways Im talking about, so why in the heck arent we using them?

hey, I agree with you, malform, I just think that if you wanted to play that way in tournement, you could really get in trouble down the line if chapacters real powers were represented, I think it would be perfectly fine for a home game, I'm sure annointed1 wouldn't mind playing a game or two where his hulk gain 2 to speed every time he recovered... hey, that's not a bad idea.
