Best and Worst of Transformers

Hey! I wanted to start a thread for people who have had a chance to play with almost every single figure in Series 4 and post their favorites and discuss the set as a whole.

When replying, please post your choices for the following awards:

YOUR FAVORITE FIGURE - No explanation needed. The figure that you get the most joy out of.

YOUR FAVORITE COMMON - If not the same as above, then your favorite piece from #1-6.

BEST OVERALL FIGURE - In the Attacktix game, the most effective figure.

MOST INNOVATIVE DESIGN - The coolest and most intricate design.

BEST SCULPT - Your favorite looking figure, no matter how it plays.

COOLEST CHARACTER DEPICTION - The best transition from character to Attacktix.

BIGGEST DUD - The character that was the greatest disappointment for you. You had big expectations, and they were all let down.

LEAST EXCITING FIGURE - Figures that made you say...eh, that's kind of lame.

WORST OVERALL FIGURE - You would never in a million years play with this figure. They are overcosted, too fragile, or whatever.

(CUSTOM) You must come up with your own personal award to give to a figure of your choice.

Based on having all of them except Scorponok and Scourge:

Favorite Figure--Overhaul, who is just insane sorts of powerful. Makes me like shooters.

Favorite Common--Battle Ravage, because I prefer playing strikers and Battle Ravage is THE Transformers striker.

Best Overall Figure--Overhaul is a 30pt energy blaster, hard to shoot down, with a special power that keeps himself in play. Outstanding figure and compares well to the best of Star Wars.

Most Innovative--Scorponok, with his human powered throwing claw. Powerful, and fun to throw figures across the room.

Best Sculpt--Super Optimus Prime. The sculpt just looks great, and the weight and balance of it make him nearly unkillable.

Character Deptiction--Battle Ravage, who fight in endless waves and just keep coming. Got the feel of the Terrorcons down nicely, and it works in with Scorponok and the Insecticons as well.

Biggest Dud--Dirtboss. That missile of his is just all sorts of unreliable. It seems to glance off on anything but a perfect hit. Such a neat concept that just doesn't work.

Least Exciting figure--Vector Prime has a special power that is just way too specific for a 40pt figure. 90% of the games I'd expect to play wouldn't aplly to it. Figure just doesn't scream "useful" to me at all.

Worst overall figure--Gotta give this to Hot Shot. A 40pt figure should never have a small base. EVER. Could never trust this figure in a million years. Add to this that for the same 40pts you can get the same sculpt and launcher with a larger base, and a more useful power, and this figure will be collecting dust in my bin for its entire existence.

(CUSTOM)Biggest gripe--Transformers are short on strikers. Yeah everybody knows this, but in the Transformers universe, there really aren't that many characters that should be strikers. It really doesn't help when you give characters with striking attacks like Vector Prime(sword), Overhaul(wolverine claws), and Starscream(a pair of arm blades) launcher attacks. All three of these figures could have been strikers, and Transformers would be better for it.

FAVORITE FIGURE: Tie between Overhaul and Scorponok. No Autobot team of mine is played without Overhaul, and no Decepticon team is played without Scorponok

YOUR FAVORITE COMMON: Battle Ravage, as I've found a 20pt striker to be more effective than a 20pt launcher (those small missles don't do too much damage)

BEST OVERALL FIGURE: Optimus Prime (gold base), he has that huge missle that can take out figures from across the table easy (you just gotta know how to aim and angle the shot). Plus he'll more than likely just stand up if you knock him down.

MOST INNOVATIVE DESIGN: Scorponok, that scoop arm is almost a sure kill, and if the opponent has other figures nearby, he can throw the one figure into those and knock them down too.

BEST SCULPT: Starscream, he's just got so much detail, and a great paint jog.

COOLEST CHARACTER DEPICTION: Skyblast, he both utilizes the Transform ability, and he's got the spear the toy has, and uses it like one.

BIGGEST DUD: Ransack, interesting idea, but doesn't translate well into play. You're more than likely just going to push the other figure back a few tix as opposed to actually getting a hold of a limb.

LEAST EXCITING FIGURE: Decepticlone, he has a boring color scheme, little detail, and while he has a decent special, it will rarely come up.

WORST OVERALL FIGURE: Hot Shot. He's just worthless if you have Excellion. Plus Overhaul is better than those two anyway and he costs less.

Best Faction (CUSTOM): Decepticons, between Scorponok and Battle Ravage, you can do a lot of damage to your opponent's team.

|sf>I just thought I would point out that Battle Ravage is 20 points, not 10 points. Regardless, he's still considered a common, so he fits the category.
