A friend who I play against uses only Transformers. He also hates to use strikers. I recently acquired S2 Starter Kenobi and S4 booster Darth Vader and have been smacking him up down and sideways with these figures. Because of their high recover rates, he calls them unfair.
Any comments?

tell him to get some battle ravages as those are the best TF striker We play mostly with my figures, and I have five Battle Ravages, so that doesn't stop him. What stops him is that he hates strikers.

Well, that's the price he pays for hating strikers, I guess. I used to hate them, too. Once I learned how to use them, they became my favorite type of attack far and away. If your friend doesn't ever want to get better and you still want to keep playing with him, you might limit yourself to playing only with launchers. However, I wouldn't play that way

He doesn't really mind when I play teams based on Battle Ravage at all.

Well, also keep in mind that there are like six or seven times more Star Wars figs to choose from when building a Star Wars only team versus a Transformers only team...that's a huge advantage. You could always handicap by playing only SW4 versus TF1.

Knock him down and rub him in the dirt!! Sorry. But hatred of strikers is not understanding them. Most of the people I play with can't use strikers for their life. As a result I always win. But if you only play missles against tfs you'll get pooned by guys like excilion who wont fall at point blank. Let him practice a little so he gets used to them and then tell them its his choice. Plus Battle ravage is my favorite striker, but he does have it ruff taking down formations.

Yeah, that's the price he has to pay for limiting himself. Limiting himself from strikers and Star Wars, will make his team building efforts greatly weakened by comparison to other players.
If that were my limitations, I think I would play with 7 Mini-Cons (or mix of Omnicons if you are short), 1 Super Optimus Prime Vehicle and a Gold Super Optimus Prime in Backups. That might work out OK.

I think things might even out a bit more when there are a few more waves of Transformers (and hopefully some more traditional-type strikers). I just started collecting, and am limiting myself to Transformers, as they are my main hobby. I got the Intergalactic Showdown pack, so I was able to try out the Vader and Skywalker strikers, which are pretty good. When Transformers gets some of those types, then I bet battles will be a little more interesting when its SW vs TF (although Scorponok is a very good concept which has worked well in all my mock battles so far, and Skyblast robot ain't too shabby either).

he should allways keep his options open cause strikers are the best figs in the game

Fair/Unfair is not a valid argument. He can ebay them both, then VOILA! It's 100% even. The fact that the SW figures are far superior to the TF figures has to do with the fact that TFs seemed to be designed to fight other TFs; The SW are meant to deal an onslaught of death and dismemberment to all who oppose them. Plus they have wickets and Jedi Knights...

the one advantage I've noticed so far(I've only been playing a month), is that the SW figures have better speed which can be an advantage for all those strikers. If someone playing a game of SW vs TF the best chance the TF player has is to go first and take out the SW strikers from a distance, before they get a chance to get close. And also hope the SW player isnt useing an AT-RT, that is one tough figure to knock down.
