I was looking around at some news stuff and saw an article about Hasbro and a few of their ideas. While reading, I noticed a standalone sentence that mentioned a G.I. Joe movie in the article. Could this be the calling that Attacktix makers have been waiting for? Here's the article: www.usatoday.com/money/industries/2007-06-18-hasbro_N.htm?csp=34

Good find! It's about time we heard some news about the Joes! This could be what many fans have waited for. I do have a question though (well, 2 really : First, are you a big GI Joe fan, Megazarak? Second, if you are, can you tell me whether or not the majority of Joe fans are as picky and whiny as the majority TF fans? Just curious about the typical personalities. I'm not a huge fan, but I'd buy the Attacktix (if they ever see the light of day) and I'd definitely go to see the movie.

To the first question, no, but I do like it, I even sometimes watch Sigma Six if I happen to pass it on TV. And to the second, I don't think they are. G.I. Joe fans grew up with action figures so I can safely assume that they will like Attacktix if they are actually released. Also, many Transformers fans tend to avoid Attacktix because of a nightmare that was called Action Masters. I didn't think they were so bad, even though I never got any, but because of those, Transformers fans tend to avoid non-transforming things.

Also, many Transformers fans tend to avoid Attacktix because of a nightmare that was called Action Masters. I didn't think they were so bad, even though I never got any, but because of those, Transformers fans tend to avoid non-transforming things. Actually, I've seen the fan response soften a lot towards the Action Masters, and non-transforming TFs in general in the last 10 years or so. The Heroes of Cybertron PVC line had HUGE success, both in Japan and the US, and the Robot Heroes line, despite the target audience supposedly being younger children, is largely G1 for a reason. I myself HAD to break down and get the Prime/Unicron pack. They're so key-yute! I've seen a few Transfans into Tix- the major problem has not been a dislike of non-transforming Transformers, but that the entire first series offered a lot of current incarnations that the older (and vocal) fans just weren't excited about. I guarantee that if we ever see S2 boosters, that online sales of Bumblebee, Grimlock, Prowl, and other G1 figures I might be forgetting will be very brisk. Anyway, as someone who had a massive Joe collection as a child (and again as an adult, and will no doubt begin again at some point), I can say without hesitation that I'd snap up darn near anything and everything. I actually thought the '90s "every figure gets a missile launcher" trend was fun, although as an adult I see how silly it really was. Attacktix can and should replicate that, and more importantly, give it a reason. The only question in my mind is if we'll get Sigma 6 or classic styled Joes. I know I'd prefer classic, but I think a mixture of the two would go over well.

At the Comic Con a few months ago, Hasbro put out a lot of GI Joes in their display cabinets.
Currently Attacktix is on a hiatus, but once that ends we may see some GI Joe 'Tix if the regular toy line is selling well.

I just hope they stagger releases of the different lines or even bring one genre to completion before starting another, once the hiatus is over. Trying to collect SW, Marvel & TF all about the same time is hard on the pocket book and my feint heart can't take it! But, hey, Yo Joe!

I think a good mix of classic and modern (Sigma 6 style) characters would be really nice. Sorta like TFS2, but more of a 50/50 split... actually, TF should have a split more like that too. That way Hasbro gets to issue figures that help to promote the actual lines that are hitting the shelves and represent what the kids are seeing on the cartoons, and the adult fans get to blast away with figures based on their childhood heroes. Everybody wins!

I really enjoy GI-Joe Generation 1 playsets, why those were the finest toys a boy or girl could play with!

It would be really nice to see these come out since it has been a buzz around here for as long as I can remember. Anyways I had told my dad they were coming out then and he finally gave up and bought transformers. It would be a great compliment to the revived '80's toys.

Yes the 80's sure held alot of fond memories for American boys and girls who respect the great Hasbro corporation as I do. Hasbro provides us with excellent toys and even better memories.
