Another on-the-street report coming to you from cub reporter SuperflyTNT!
This time, I am reporting from the Botcon Transformers Conference in Lexington, KY. This was probably the most 'interesting' conference I've ever been to; there were all kinds of people there ranging from the average, everyday soul to the absurd uber-fan. I will say I did fear for my life for a moment, though, as there were a disproportionate amount of Dylan Klebold (see Columbine Massacre) impersonators there, with duffel bags, para-military boots, and long black trenchcoats. Note that it was drizzling, but still 75 degrees.
Now to the meat:
As I was walking in, I saw 2 'ladies' dressed as transformers, and I had to get a snapshot:
I didn't have the gall to ask who they were supposed to be, but one volunteered that she was 'Jazz'. Undiscernable, in my opinion. There were also some other folks there who needed to be mentioned:
Cool Starscream and Soundwave:
The ever-present "dude with flamboyant hat" :
The BIGGEST transformers fan EVER! At first glance, he looked like the stunt double for a famous "Austin Powers" character. Note the illusion of the goatee on the Decepticon logo due to 'image stretch':
And I did, amazingly, run into a few celebrities! Here's one of our own Malform! Imagine my surprise (note look on face)!:
And here is the virtually unknown Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime. Surrounding him was at least 400 waiting in line to get an autograph!:
There were people that even had TATTOOS!:
The coolest prop I have seen as of yet; the Movie Countdown!:
And finally, there's the grooooooviest folks there; my family, Malform, and Professor YodaBreaker:
Now onto the stuff you're REALLY interested in: ATTACKTIX! There were some prototypes/new Attacktix here that SHOULD have made it to the shelves, but didn't (yet):
Megatron:
Stongarm:
The much anticipated Galvatron:
And a very cool Optiumus (far right), an undisclosed figure (left of Megatron) and another pic of Megatron:
And finally on the Attacktix front, the Hasbro Booth:
The show was larger than I expected, with probably 10,000 people there and about 90-100 tables. There were very few vendors that were selling Attacktix, but there were more transformers than I've ever seen at any time (except maybe TheCasualOblivion's collection).
Just for scale, here's a photo of the exhibit hall:
There was the coolest booth there, which sold about every shirt/hat/aparrel item you could think of:
www.stylinonline.com
And a plethora of Transformers stores that sold just about everything that you could possibly imagine from the transformers line, as well as other stuff from other 'universes'. Even Vader showed up!
There were a LOT of cool customs as well, but this one took the cake! This is a Devastator that stood about 5' tall (note family in front for scale):
Finally, here's the post-arse-whippin' interview with Yodabreaker in Quicktime (.mov) format:

Well, that's all for now, and seeya next time!
