I like to brag about this. I've never met anyone else my age that can say this:
I have attended the theatrical first run of all six Star Wars movies, and this includes the re-releases and the updated versions of the original three in the 90's.
I'm only 30, being born in 1976. The first Star Wars I actually remember seeing at the theater was Return of the Jedi, which I went back and saw at least five times. For Empire Strikes Back, I was only four and my parents brought me with them when they went to see it regardless of the disturbance a four year old child in a theater can do. I don't really remember that, but I have been told that it happened. In addition, when I was only one year old, they took me with them to the Drive-In when they went to see the original. I definitely don't remember that. The others were no big deal for anyone who goes to the movies fairly often.
Its a small thing, but there aren't many people my age who can say it.

Here's my story....I saw the original in the theater when I was 4 1/2 and I remember being blown away! I was taken to see the movie along with a good friend of mine and we saw not only A New Hope in the theater together, but also ESB, RotJ, the Special Editions, and now the Prequel Trilogy movies as well. Here we are 30 years later and our friendship is just as strong now as it was then...thanks in large part to Star Wars.

Congrats. I'm too young, I wasn't even born when the original trilogy came out. But I remember seeing the originals on VHS. I couldn't understand english back then, so all I could understand was what I could see.

I can't even say I've seen them all since the SE. I was terrified of the whole 'Luke decapitating Vader who turns out to be Luke' thing and skipped Empire for it's rerelease, though rather ironiclly it's now my favorite one of the bunch (and I have seen everything else since it, including Episode II in I-Max).

My first experience with Stars Wars happened when I saw the original New Hope in the theater when I was 5 years old in 1976. I was not only blown away by the movie, but I attribute much of my creative side to the movie that taught me it was ok to fantasize about other worlds and galaxies in a way that might make your parents and teachers a little uneasy. Nothing will ever compare to that fateful night in '76 when I fell in love with my imagination. Now that's a movie experience!
