There ya go...those are two points under the doctrine of unenforceable and void contracts Apparently, I really am good at tweaking around with someone who prides himself on being so logical, yet is demonstrably not so at times ;D

Hey, messing with a logical person when they are purposefully being illogical doesn't count! There are times for logic and times for purposefully making a fool of one's self. This whole bit (specifically the Wal-Mart crack) was mostly the second one with only a tad of the first. Then you went and got me on the defensive and I had to bust out some legal arguments and actually be logical. You only really got me on Reasonable Doubt and that's because I watch too much Law And Order and not enough People's Court . That, and the fact that you can access IP records . Finally, you really could have trapped me by using the context of my original "bet" message and claiming that the new starters are technically old product and, therefore, the Australia claims are moot. THAT would have killed all non-"voided contract" arguments. The only time I can remember when you've really mussed with my logic is awhile back when I stated a bunch of points on Attacktix not dying and, even then, you only disproved the points and not the logic. It was a logical but false conclusion, just like having the points "Man is immortal" and "Socrates is a man" would lead to "Socrates is immortal" which is logical even if it isn't true. I'm still expecting a locked account on the 1st. If I don't get one, I might actually get upset that no one took advantage of such a great opportunity to pull a lovely prank. It'd be even better if said someone also changed my sig to include a quote of my self-bet. That'd be quite funny and I give the mods the right to do so as long as they unlock my account by that afternoon.

Don't worry GMan, under most state laws (Indiana being one) all contracts can be cancelled within 3 days of signing. Right of refusal in some states, right of recision (sp?) in others (that's the legal phrase).
So, all you have to do is declare, in writing, that the contract is null and void, and you're safe.

Oi! Don't forget to scribble down to UNLOCK it that afternoon!!! A locked account for the length of the morning is a prank, a locked account for an entire day or more is torture. Well, the "contract" was "written" on June 27th which means it's well outside of my "signing date". However, if one decides that Ben Kenobi calling me on it counts as a signing then... I declare that the contract saying my account must be gotten rid of and all cash sent to the winner of the bet is null and void.

This whole exchange about Grievous' prediction reminds me of the time when a baseball announcer said (after his team was up by 10 runs) "if we blow this one I'm walking home". Of course, they did... I think the game was in Philadelphia and he lived in Pittsburgh. He eventually did organize a big charity event and walked that distance. He said he was always thought to keep his word, but he wished he had been taught to keep his mouth shut! Not that I fault Grievous' prediction... at the time he made it, I was like "the figures will be in the stores way before then".

ROFL. Sounds like something that'd happen to me considering I have absolutely horrific luck when it comes to predictions. As I said many posts ago in this thread, it seems like whenever I predict something it just HAS to turn out false. My luck becomes even worse when I add in any sort of wagering. At that point, I basically insure the opposite happening.
Still, this whole thing makes me even more annoyed by the lack of new Attacktix. They should have been here by now and they're not. Hasbro's really starting to annoy me, especially when you take into account the e-mail I received in response to a question I asked about the new sets but that's a topic to theorize about at another time...

I think what really chaps everyone is the deafening silence. Not a press release. Not a word to Webhead. Nothing. Nada. Zip.
That's just wrong. It'd be like going to a resaurant and ordering pie and a coffee, and then getting the coffee, but every time the waitress walks by for 2 hours she doesn't refill the coffee or give you your pie. Then when you ASK her about it, she says that "It's coming" and never bringing it. Friggin Garbage!

Hah! Attacktix have never been mainstream.... Mainstream would be the place that Barbie, Polly Pocket, G.I. Joe, Bratz, LEGO, and so forth are at.... Everyone knows what those things are right? You can hardly go a day without seeing a commercial for at least one of those... How many people have seen an attacktix commercial? How many random people on the street actually have heard of or even know what attacktix are (I would say very few)? Attacktix are so far from "mainstream" its sad. *edit* Opps!.... I somehow unknowingly repeated (although slightly different) what grievous said.... Oh well. Ya know, after thinking about it, you guys are right. Never mainstream. Change 'mainstream' to 'popular'. My point is that it is less popular now than before. I won't argue symantics. My point is still the same.

That is what is starting to bug me as well. We are getting no news or direction as to what could even remotely be the hold up here. Something NEEDS to give. We have all been very patient up to this point. It's getting boring logging onto here everyday and see nothing new has still arrived. *Homer Simpson* Mmmmmmm.......pie.

Besides, there's only so long we can trade amongst ourselves, with no new material, before we start ending up with our old figures back...
...Don't know why I thought of that, or said it for that matter....

Ah, but we've gotten some new members as well, and they will want to trade. I sure wish we had a better avenue to advertise this site, to get more people involved.
Seems like we only have 20 people that regularly chat.

it's a market ploy that sadly works vary well with such a hardcore fan base like attacktix and is justified by big business by the rashional that it's not mainstream enough to push it any harder. The stuff will dwindle of the shelf little by little while we sit back and say isn't it a shame their's no knew pieces. All the sudden the new set will finally show up. long deprived fans will shop and shop until their wallet breaks for fear their was some manufacturing snafu or worse and the new product will pay for the entire run with in the firs month or so it's out. The same set the will regreatablly force feed us on our dime for the better part of the next year. It's a shame, but at least I believe new pieces are coming however as their is no longer time for two sets before christmas I think we still have awhile before they see any real shelf space. I'm thinking full take over by mid to late september.
