Here's the lower-quality (encoding...not content ;D ) version of "The Battle Of Nar Shaddaa". It's about 20 minutes of video, with music, sound effects, and of course completely unscripted dialogue between myself, ConaChris, and my camerawoman. FYI - For those of you that know me...I edited the content for language, so this is rated "E" for Everybody. This is a battle that takes place on the Battlefront set that I built, although this was taped before completion... Enjoy!: video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4064592279063513744&pr=goog-sl

That is too much... the sound effects and the screams are hilarious. For some reason too I find all the "beeps" funny as well - maybe because I partially remember what was said. Nice job! P.S. For those who weren't there, my constant waving of my hands is not some cheesy attempt to draw on the force - it's to try and knock those pesky mosquitos away (we played in Superflytnt's garage)!

They were not mosquitos - they were skeeter Dragons!

Sweet shot from the sniper tower, Chris! And equally great shot taking out the sniper, Superfly ;D But a second great shot from the tower wins the game. Very nice.
I like the playing field, it adds a lot to the game. But what is the point of the CP's? It seems like once you both had your teams out there they became irrelevant, and there was definitely no push to capture someone else's CP. What were the rules as to how many figures you could bring in?

Thanks Yag! The point of the command posts is threefold - it gives objective points and controls maximum figures in play, secondly it allows players to enter the playfield from alternative points on the map which adds to strategy (see Emperor taking ObiWan...scuzz) and finally, it allows a condition where even if you are outnumbered and outgunned you can take opponent's CPs and still win (think about it - if he has 2 guys on a platform which are 15 tix from a nearby command post, all I need to do is take the CPs, and hold them for 2 turns to win!).
Also, the CP control is KEY because of the gameplay structure - if I can take 3 CPs, for instance the 2 on the side opposing the elevator and the one behind the "Tie Landing Pad" building, he has to spawn by the elevator which forces him into a corner which I can attack. Also, it allows me to bring in 3 extra guys (for a total of 8) and he can only bring in one (for a total of 6). Even near the end of the game this can make a huge difference - imagine he has only slow moving troopers left and I force him out of his CP area - now he has to try to retake CPs that are at least 20 tix away in 2 turns, irrespective of how many backups or remaining team members he has awaiting entry.
Finally, let's say all the figs are in (similar to the end of my game with Chris) and he has only a Sandtrooper left on the elevator and I have only an Anakin and a Battledroid - I can send them to take 2 of the CPs without him being able to take a clean shot, then I can take the fourth, without him being able to hit me from above due to the angle. Now I can win without ever needing to fire a shot if I'm lucky.
Next time Chris comes over I'll play a game with the whole setup and the new buildings and catwalks - that will totally change the nature of the game as there are 2 sniper spots, 2 hidden areas to shoot from under cover, and the proximity of the CPs have been changed.
As for the rules:
Rules are as follows: 1. In a 200 point match, you can have 100 points of backups. 2. You start at the center of the start area, with 5 figures in play of any point value. 3. Picking up CPs allows you to bring in figures. Without CPs you may not bring in anything unless called into play via special powers. 4. A CP owned allows one more MAXIMUM figure in - for instance if you have 2 CPs, you can have 7 figures in play at once. If you lose a CP, that doesn't force you to remove one, you simply cannot bring any figures into play until you have less than your maximum allowed. 5. Special powers are fully in effect. 6. If a player loses ALL his CPs (after he's captured one initially) he has 2 turns to recapture one or he loses.
So, in short here's an example:
Turn 1 Chris starts and has 5 players in, and on his first turn he does not capture any Command Posts, but loses a figure (so he has 4 left) on his next turn he may not bring in any as he has no CPs.
Turn 2 With his remaining 4 figures he captures a Command Post. He may, on his next turn, bring in 2 figures (for a total of 6). He also captures a second command post, and loses no figures.
Turn 3 He brings in 3 more figures, for a total of 7 figures because he owns 2 Command Posts. During this turn he does not lose any figures, but one of his command posts is captured by the enemy, leaving him with one.
Turn 4 On his fourth turn, he has 7 figures in play, and one command post, so he may not bring in any additional figures until he gets back down to 5 (the baseline), at which point he would be able to bring in 6, assuming no more command posts change hands.
Hope that anecdotal explanation helps!

some that you would be deadly with ,superflytnt, is my custom the rebel marksman, he is an endor scout with a sandtrooper gun on a royal guard base his effect is your opponent may not move on their next turn, he's 30 points since he moves 10 tix and a rebel.

It took me a LONG time to find the free .WAV file of a batter whiffing for that strike!
I'll tell you, only 9 people have seen the video according to Google! I thought more people would want to see (and hear) it!

It must be that long extended shot in the beginning (of my behind as I bend over to pick up figures) scaring people off. Reminds me of Spaceballs "Why didn't anybody tell me my @$$ was so big!"

Perhaps folks don't have a good high speed connection, or maybe the place where they do have that connection isn't a place where they can watch a 20 minute video.

The sad thing is that it's not even the whole thing. It's actually MUCH better with the other buildings. Hopefully Yodabreaker will post some pics - it's his now!
After the 1st of the year I am going to be building playset #2 - The Mos Eisley Spaceport. This, my friends, will be awesome, and based largely on the map from "Battlefront 1" for Xbox.
