I've asked this a half dozen (full dozen?) times here but since things are slow I thought I'd try this new post as a reminder.
Does anyone have or know the complete text of R5-D4's effect. I know the jist (you end up giving R5 to your opponent as he is bad/detrimental figure to have on your team) but I'm just curious as to how the power is spelled out.
Given that I'll probably never own the little bugger this is one of the last Attacktix mysteries left to us (other than more of that unreleased cross-sell info butterscotch teased us with pretty much a year ago - Jan 4th to be exact) any help/info would be greatly appreciated.
Happy New Year gang.

"Attack Damper Each turn, you must push the top of R5-D4. Add or subtract from your attack actions for the turn the number shown. If red at the end of your turn your opponent gains control of R5-D4 and moves it to their starting area."

Happy New Year gang. Sadly I've not really been able to track down much more, other than they were plotting to try and save/bring back the line after they killed it the first time. I may finally actually start getting images up for the archive I intended to create, just a shame I'm missing a few figures. One day though..

Thanks Defender of New Paradron.
So what's the strategy behind this droid? Gamble on the hopes of gaining more attacks at the risk of loosing some? When they state "red" at end of turn are they referring to the color of the speed number (which changes from red to white in later series) on top of the base? Since the speed number color isn't random like the white/black special power color on the bottom it would be very easy to control whether or not you give R5 to your opponent. And since you're forced to push button at beginning of turn you can't just use one of your attacks to kill this little bad luck bugger off the bat. You'd have to either waste an attack after button push and do everyone a favor and take him out of game or he would just get passed back and forth all game long.
Well now that I know the exact wording perhaps I can sub in an R2-D2 and just use this effect to play test how he might work in a game.
Hey butter, I thought you had some more secret fun hidden at home (your cross sell post mentioned 9 or so more posts, etc.). Oh well. Maybe we should contact someone at Hasbro and ask that since the game is long dead that they reveal some of the cool stuff they have sitting around in their "archives".

Maybe he's meant to be useless, as a jab at the character? Keep us informed if your play test finds a good purpose for this strange figure.

I clearly need to look at what I posted, to see if I posted everything I'm thinking I must not have, the past year was a hell of a bumpy road. I will do some digging and maybe get some more goodies out soon.

Thinking about play testing R5-D4 made me realize we need a bit more info...
What numbers are on his "spinner"? If I were to guess: +1, +2, 0, -1, -2 (how many options/number slots did R2-D2 have?)
What was R5's bottom of base special power? What was the ratio of this power turning up white? It would be funny if this droid has a high ratio special power that kept bringing him back into the game over and over.

I just happened to have a really clear pic of his effect panel from when he was on display at Celebration or Toy Fair (can't remember which).

Without having seen the droid or playing with it, I'd say it was meant to be a wild card fig, either hindering you or helping you, but at the same time, having the chance to do the same for your opponent. Could make interesting game play, especially if you have some control on when you want to hand him over to the opponent's side.
