One of my friends I play with uses a transformer army, mostly comprised of the gold pad Optimus ((six of them))who stands up when killed a lot. and several others. the problem I'm having is that the rest of us are having troubles putting him down. The now I can hold my ground using my droid army ((mainly because I use the Bodyguard/R2-Q5 mix for 24 tick strikers)) the only other group that can hold it's ground was a group of tuskans and Boba Fett on a string. ((the tuskans form a wall and the Bobas take to the sky and fire from behind the wall)) My empire, republic, sinister syndicate... everyone I've used has been crushed. I need some new strategies if my other players are going to stand a chance against him.

My first strategy would be to tell them that you can only use one of any gold figure per team. (You may only use one silver tournament figure on a team, the limit for gold based is more relaxed, you can use up to one of each kind).
If they accept that, you're in the clear. If they persist that they may have as many gold based figures as they want, get a team of Gold based Ki-Adi Mundi's, Jedi Knights, and a few shooters or force pushers, (there was a yellow clone trooper that worked with Jedi's well, but Force pushes are great too).
Gold Ki gives 3 Jedi a move and attack as his special, since you guys are playing a high point game, throw in 3 or more force pushers to compliment your Jedi Knights clearing the field. Just make sure to get your gold figures in the front of the battle, so you can utilize the special power.
It is a winning team...see link below "2006 World Champion of San Diego". It was after I won the tournament, defeating an opponent who also had multiple Gold Ki Adi Mundi's that Hasbro started to consider that there should only be one gold figure of each kind per team.

If they don't think there should be a restriction on gold based figures, they'll probably change their minds after facing a swarm of gold Ki-Adi-Mundis. An almost 50% chance of a triple Attackback? That's a free one and a half turns of striking goodness. And let's face it - it's very tough to shoot down Super OP, strikers are your best bet anyway.
I understand what Radar is saying regarding the force shooting Jedi, but I would go exclusively with strikers. Five gold Ki's and ten Jedi Knights is a ridiculous 200 point team. Or 6/8, or 7/6 ... or even just rolling out 10 Gold Ki's!
If your friend is running a team that's mostly made up of six gold SOP's, then that's already 240 points. I'd take 240 points of strikers any day of the week over that. While SOP is a defensive beast, he has zero protection against any striker - they should ALWAYS knock him down. And since strikers have multiple knockdown potential, you might be able to fling one SOP into another! SOP himself has a much much lower chance of taking out multiple figures in one shot. His main strength is simply staying on the table for so long. And the best remedy for that is getting as many attacks as possible. Gold KAM for the win!

Exactly, in addition to that, you are going to have more figures on the field than he does because his figures cost so many points. You are going to out man him so much that sacrificing Jedi running up to his SOP shouldn't be a concern, in fact if you are looking to win early in the game, you might use some of those triple attackbacks to actually swing a light saber at your own Ki Adi Mundis to activate them, or even hit your own Jedis to use as projectiles to knock over SOP.
It should be a good game.

The question of the day is: how many Gold KAMs do you actually have? I hope you have several!

hm... so now all I need is some Jedi figures. I guess the one problem with taking out SOP is our table is very 3D, and he can position his figures on the top of stair ways, close enough to the step that another figure can not make the step up, but far enough away that most strikes don't make it effectively. I suppose I'm probably the only one out there with such an intense battle field. I agree with the strikers to take down SOP. My droid Bodyguards do a great job, but I just feel bad for everyone else since he and I pretty much control the field. I'm trying to give the other four players hints to stand a chance against my droids and his transformers. We have functional Rebel, empire, Sinister syndicate, tuskan, Hidden, and bounty hunter forces. Unfortunately the people I used to play with be for moving I had traded the other factions to. I think Tonight I will have on of the others use two drop ships and try and drop him with superior range. We'll see how that works. thanx for the Ideas.
