Anyone have the prototypes for Marvel series 2? Specifically Nightcrawler, Cyclops, Jean, and Storm?
If you do, please post pics!

Oh, what woulda, coulda & shoulda have been. If one can get their hands on those protos, it might turn out to be a good investment. Or, one will feel like a donkey's behind if they ever are released as Factory figures...

An Ironman proto is what I really want. I would paint him up goooooooood so that he looked like he was the real deal. I guess seems how nobody would really have anything to compare him up against, he would be considered the real deal no matter what. LOL! At Tix Con I got to see some of the protos and finished figures that Webhead had. They were beautiful. I really wished we could have had Marvel wave 2 come out. It is by far my most anticipated.

Aw man, I want those Marvel series 2 figures so much! Hasbro had some great sculpts in there. I loved the Nightcrawler, Jean and Iron man sculpts so much!
I think I will try to make an Iron man custom but in the Extremis armor. yeah, thats what Ill do.
And if I cant get my hands on some of those other x-men, I might make customs of those proto figures.

When you say finished, do you mean Factory finished? Or expertly hand painted? From the photos, Lando & Gamorrean Guard look Factory. If, so that gives some sliver of hope that some figs actually went through the entire process, atleast as a a pre-production. Look, at me, one of the few who actually deep in his heart, cares if new Tix will come out! But the Proto I'd really like to get my hands on is the Colossus/Wolverine Mega.

My friend, that Lando and Gamorean Guard that I saw at Tix Con came straight from an actual booster that Brett (Webhead) opened personally. I just wish I was actually there when he did so I could have been a witness to the actual fact that, YES INDEED Star Wars series 5 did make it to packing. Almost brings a tear to my eye thinking about it. I really wanted some Hoth Troopers. These are already made and are sitting somewhere here or overseas. I really think they are wishing to repackage the whole lot before releasing anything new. We are going to see an entirely different way of packaging with Tix than the normal booster that we were used to.

I ones I was must looking forward to were what we called Series 3 Transformers, the ones with all the G1 figures. My favorites were Laserbeak on Soundwave's arm and the Ironhide striker (using a stoplight).
The other day I was playing with my 4-month old and was reading to him, and happened to be next to my "toy box" and got out the Quick Start Guides for Marvel S2, SW S5, and TF S2 and was "reading" them to him - explaining how daddy was hoping they would come out.

Wow, great info GE! Somehow I missed that info. What this means is there was a Factory run of some size, some quantity, of at least SW 5. The question is how much before the plug got pulled. If it was of any reasonable size, I can't imagine Hasbro sitting on it forever, leaving them in some warehouse. If it was quite small, I'm sure a select few at Hasbro have already gotten their hands on them and kept them for themselves. But if it was large enough, I agree with you, that some Factory workers will be slicing open the plastic blind boosters and re-packaging them! Well, give this dope a rope, he still has some hope! Ya, I know I strayed from the Prototype topic. Great little story, reading the starter guides to your son, Cona. My son and I look through those guides quite a bit too and have practically worn them out!

YES! The series 3 TF's look amazing. It's too bad they didn't start with that series instead of the dust collection we ended up with. Not sure what the reasoning was there, but a ball was dropped. I still believe it was TF's that killed the line along with clam shells. Posted by attacktixman on Today at 12:24pm Wow, great info GE! Somehow I missed that info.

We would have to talk directly to Brett, Webhead to know exactly how he went about getting the booster in the first place. I know I heard that he was at Hasbors headquarters when he got it. Not sure the specifics. My guesses are that they did do a mass production and sent them back overseas to do a repackage. I'm guessing some of the major toy retailers were not crazy about continuing Tix the way they were. And I have to agree that I wasn't crazy about another series of clamshells. But at this point, I'd take clam shells over what we've got today. It's sad how many times I've looked at the Marvel series 2 booklet imaging the specials of Scorpion, Ironman, King Pin, ect.....sniff...sniff..... sorry, I got something in my eye, I gotta go.........

Would be nice to see them someday.

...but a ball was dropped. There were many, many balls that were dropped my friend. One in particular still has me scratching my head. Most, if not all, toy lines that die leave behind the ghosts of what could have been in the form of unreleased figures. Sometimes it could be a just a figure or two or an entire series of figures. But Attacktix has broken some kind of record in the unproduced figure department (some of these figures were actually "produced" but didn't see wide distribution so they are still included on my list). Let's examine: Star Wars Series 5 - (18 figs) Transformers Series 2 - (18 figs) Marvel Series 2 - (18 figs) Star Wars Series 5 Starter Set - (4 figs) Transformers Series 2 Starter Set - (4 figs) Marvel Series 2 Starter Set - (4 figs) Transformers Movie Tournament Pack - (4 figs) Transformers Movie Mega Set - (2 figs) Transformers TX Starter Set - (4 figs) Star Wars Wampa Mega Set - (2 figs) Marvel Colossus Mega Set - (2 figs) 80 Unproduced Figures!!What the heck? Did Hasbro think that Attacktix were doing great and the end just snuck up on 'em? Were they blind-sided? Lack of foresight? So depending on how many figures actually made it to the packaging step in the process Hasbro could be sitting on a huge amount of un-released figures. Even if it turned out to be a small amount of figs collecting dust I think we could come up with an idea or two to help Hasbro and take them off their hands. GIVE 'EM UP HASBRO - WE'll PAY!!

Well actually, there is no evidence that all those above mentioned figures were actually produced. I guess there is only evidence of SW5 being produced.
And I think that if worst comes to worst, Hasbro could offer the figures on HTS.com as an online exclusive. There are strong rumors that this is what they will be doing with Marvel Legends. Legends had the same story as attacktix; Going strong with good sales then slowly became less popular. Now they are focusing on other things and there have been many hints dropped that Legends will become a Online exclusive line.
I think that Attacktix has a lot of potential as an online exclusive. That way, Hasbro can make a smaller amount of figures from the protos (and in some cases, packaged figures) and sell them online. If they do well, continue and if they don't then drop the line. C'mon Hasbro! Please Listen!!!
