Because there was no "Cthulu" option (who I would have voted for if I was old enough this election), I selected Optimus Prime. You want change? What better option than a freaking Transformer?
Oh yeah, I went there.

McCain simply because he reminds me of McDonalds and I love Egg McMuffins. Sausage McMuffins, yummy. I voted for Prime here, not in the actual vote though mind you.

Barack Obama is our new president. Not that we don't already know that though.
I'm optimistic about the future of this county and proud that we have gone from a country that enslaved blacks to a country that would elect a black man to lead the country. I think that says a lot about the social progress we have made as a country as well as the progress we can continue to make.
BTW prop 8 passes in California adding a ban on gay marriage to the California constitution that state judges cannot overturn (theoretically). We also passed a bill that in nice to farm animals giving them room to move around and such. Happy animals are probably more delicious anyways.

They voted happy animals over happy gay people! I guess that "Social Progress" doesn't apply to gays. Crazy! So the state that is the home of "san fran" and hollywood added a ban on gay marriage to it's constitution!? WOW! Thats like west virginia Putting a ban on sex between cousins or the hole midwest banning sex with livestock. Does California have any same-sex couples rights laws? Can gays have "Legal Unions"?

Yeah, we call them Civil Unions out here. They are just like marriage, but we like to keep the two classified differently. There was a big push about keeping them different so that the state cannot legally recognize it to hopefully not have homosexuality or gay marriage taught in school as a "Life Choice" or some other such term. Others just don't like having a gay union called marriage, because if gay people are doing the same thing they are doing, maybe that makes them a little gay too? OR maybe they just don't think they should get to called it marriage based on religious feelings, or just because homosexuality makes people uncomfortable. This is actually the second time Californians voted this way, but after the first time the California Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional, but we showed them, we made it part of the California Constitution! Whats constitutional now dudes in robes?! (jk...mostly) But yeah, big win today for animals trapped in small cages. Pictures of those caged animals really pulled the heartstrings of the California voters. Strangely, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsone was actually used more in the Yes on 8 (banning gay marriage) commercials that the other way. He made a speech where he informed the crowd that gay marriage was coming "whether you like it or not". It became really frustrating based on the last election because Californians voted one way and "whether we like it or not" Supreme Court Judges changed the decision of the previous election. Like it or not videoOne final not on the yes/no on 8 campaign is that in California we have a huge mexican and mexican american population who have strong ties to the Catholic Church. The Mormon church aka Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (I always thought the Church of Jesus Christ of Everyday Saints was a better name) was one of the biggest fundraisers for the cause. In fact a great deal of fund raising was done outside the state because other states feared the domino effect for gay marriage. Yeah, i'm done for now. Go Obama! Go animals!

Ill bet you a million dollars that Ron Pauls vote was from DoNP ..And if someone took you up on such a bet, you'd be $1,000,000 richer right now. I liked McCain A LOT, but his VP choice kinda killed that for me. And I liked Obama, but his VP is obnoxious. Though Ron Paul pulled himself out of the runnings, he was the only one that I truly thought knew what he was saying. He got my vote here, and he got my vote at the polls on Tuesday.

This whole election thing has sorta got me wanting to make customized Obama and McCain Attacktix figures. You can buy action figures for each of them on Ebay. And I'm tempted to make a Mega with the Obama bobble-head that you can also buy on Ebay (perhaps having something fairly well balanced on his head until a good shot causes his head to bobble enough to topple something over??).
BTW - one of our local items on our ballot was whether or not we wanted to allow carrying concealed weapons. I was horrified to see that it was shot down! Me thinks this world is getting more and more dangerous these days....
Overall - very satisfied with the election results. America needs a good shaking up.

Better buy as many semi-auto firearms... er... Assault Weapons and ammo as you can because you can be sure the ban is coming back.
I voted for Ross Perot back when. His prediction of a "great sucking sound" (referring to the economy) certainly came true...
