This question popped up in the latest Hasbro Transformers Q&A
Figures.com: Will Transformers Attacktix Series 2 ever see distribution and release and if so, when?
Hasbro: If it hasn't come out yet, it likely will not as there is not a big push for Attacktix at this moment.

I don't think Transformers sold well at all. I noticed when Radar interviewed Brian he said that we would see some universes released more so than others. I figured Transformers was on the back burner of doom.
Star Wars is the only real on I want to see continued then Marvel.
However with the comment "Attacktix aren't in a big push", well DUH, you haven't released anything in how long now? Idiots!

That's too bad, Transformers Attacktix was always my favorite of the three. If they wanted to make TF Attacktix again, making G1 figures (similar to TF series 3) to tie in with the Universe line would be their best bet (even Animated figures would be pretty cool, especially Optimus with his axe). SW would tie in best currently with the Clone Wars line (some cool alterations of characters there) and if they were to continue Marvel then it could work well with characters from Wolverine and the X-Men.
In other words, if Hasbro honestly cared about Attacktix it wouldn't be too hard to relaunch it. They could even look into other popular lines if they wanted to try something new or target a different audience. As it stands now, the future of Attacktix is looking bleak.

Yes, I don't understand the thinking that went into S1 TF. I didn't recongnize hardly any of the figures. I did some of the names, but still the sculpts were way off from what I remembered. The should have stuck with G1 and worked up from there. Not sure why that was such a difficult task. Then again, we are talking about Hasbro. LOL! This really sux! Sure seems to me that this is the real fate of the whole game in general. "Not a lot of push"? I still can't get over that. What a bone head comment. No product in over 2 years and you wonder why there's not a lot of push. Whatever.

I know what you mean, I'm even still waiting for my TF Movie Tournament Pack and Mega Pack. If they were to release any of their figures, you'd think they'd have capitalized on the popularity of the movie. Also, there was quite a bit of positive reaction over at the TF community about Series 3 so even they liked the G1 and War Within figures in it and were looking forward to it. Instead of trying to release the G1 set and see how it goes, we get we love the line and are just trying to figure out how to relaunch the game, and after over a years time they still don't know how to relaunch the game? Their R&D must not be too bright...

It stinks to see such a lame answer, but I guess at this point they're probably out of excuses to give. Only time will tell...

I guess we could title this thread "still no good news".

I think the main person pushing relaunch at Hasbro is Brian Wilk. Not unless his relaunch plan shows large and achievable profit potential, not too many others at Hasbro will get behind the "push". I wonder if Mr. Wilk is an actual Hasbro employee or an inventor on contract. Of the three Series that were supposed to be released, I actually was excited about Marvel most, followed by Transformers and Star Wars last. Fortunately, alot of SW 5 can be home brewed with some head swapping. as a last resort. But, man, I do wish we had that Pig Guard and Lando Calrissian. The Transformers Mega Megatron looked so cool. If TF2 aren't out by time Transformers 2 the Movie is out, these are dead, dead, dead. Wouldn't it be interesting if they mixed all three series into blind boosters at the same time? Won't happen for sure

A while back I also thought of combining all the figures into one set of boosters and what not, and it seems cool in my opinion. This idea would definitely promote the various battles that could be had like the Optimus vs Vader, and Megs vs Luke and even something like Kit vs Wolverine. I actually think this is a possibility, and it would be a mistake not to explore the possibility.
Also, the movie Megs did look really cool, and like his caption on the TF Wiki says, Hadouken!
And on a final note, TF:RotF will be released in summer 2009, along with the GI JOE movie (looking forward to both!), so this could potentially be a good time for a relaunch, in the form of a TF vs GI JOE perhaps.

If you go to Hasbro.com and do a search for Attacktix, you'll notice that TF series 2 boosters are no longer pictured. However the SW series 5 booster is still there. They also still have the Colossus/Wolverine mega still up. That seems wierd.

Apparently Bakugan are very hot right now, missed opportunities Hasbro.

I totally missed this thread, so I'l try to catch up.
Thanks to figures.com for the update, the news sucks, but thanks anyway.
Yeah, transformers had a lot of issues. When they launched, they launched in the same format as series 4 Star Wars, the clam shell, which a lot of us here attribute to the loss of sales. Also, we know that currently toys are markets as a promotional item, movies and commercials sell toys. Unfortunately, the Transformers Attacktix toys were on shelves well before any movie advertising was happening, and the toys sculpts looked nothing like the characters in the movies.
Brian Wilk does in fact work for Hasbro. He is the "Design Director of Boys Toys", which is why Hasbro was so excited about him coming up with Attacktix. For the most part, games are created by outside inventors and licensed and distributed through a major toy company. For instance (while not a game) "Tickle me Elmo" was origionally a bear that giggled, the inventor could not sell the idea to any companies, he decided it could wiggle and giggle at the same time. Fisher-Price bought (or licensed) the idea since they had the rights to Sesame Street characters. What was so great about the Attacktix line is that Hasbro already paid for rights to SW and TF figures, they didn't need more licensing fees.
Transformers 2 would be a great time for a re-launch. Hopefully they can choose new figures not released that will be movie relevant.
While I would LOVE to see some GI Joe 'Tix (and I've asked for them), I think that may be a little far fetched to expect just yet. The cost of making molds for the figures is multiple of thousands of dollars as I understand it. They already have SW5, TF2, and M2 molds ready. I think it is much more reasonable to use some of those figures while figuring out how to market these things, then get GI Joe, Toy Story, Nintendo, or whatever later.

I am certain, at this point, that there will be no rerelease of any Attacktix. They missed the Iron Man opportunity, the Hulk (Ed Norton) opportunity, and both the Clone Wars movie and Clone Wars TV series opportunities.
If not then, when???

I'm personally at the point where, even if they did relaunch, I probably wouldn't buy more. My interest has simply died after two years of nothing but "We're working on it. Honest!" I've always enjoyed this community but it simply feels like it lacks a purpose anymore.
