********a subtle Spoiler follows so here is a warning***** From the Wikipedia entry on the movie, comments on the Superbowl trailer, and apparently some stuff from Bay ( Nick de Semelyn (February 2009). "20 to watch in 2009". Empire: pp. 67-69. ) it appears that the movie and some associated poster images: are indeed the character the Fallen. Apparently he is the big guy in the giant wheel toward the end of the teaser. ***POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT***Well, looks like it's set in stone now. The Revenge of The Fallen title IS actually referring to "The Fallen" character, from TF comic book lore. The images found here confirm it: www.tf08.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=223...and here are some more images of "The Fallen", featuring what looks to be it's actual color scheme: www.tf08.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=226

Probably not a midnight, but perhaps latter.
Curious DoNP were you a big fan of the first film?

Wow, this movie is getting shredded by critics. Even regular movie goers are complaining about the language, sexual content (?), no plot, and over the top effects. Sounds fun! I'll still go see it.

Probably not a midnight, but perhaps latter. Curious DoNP were you a big fan of the first film? Big fan of it. Saw it 7 times while it was in theaters! A little embarrassing to admit now, but there's no hiding from geekiness. ;D Wow, this movie is getting shredded by critics. Even regular movie goers are complaining about the language, sexual content (?), no plot, and over the top effects. Sounds fun! I'll still go see it. Sexual content was, IMO, not as bad as the first. Language on the other hand, it made me cringe a bit thinking of all of the small kids that were in that theater hearing some of that stuff. Most of the vulgarity was very over the top and unnecessary, especially all of swear words that Sam's mom said near the beginning of the film. If you can look past that, it's quite enjoyable. The plot was good, but somewhat unclear through the early half of the movie. Later half it straightened out and become a good old fashioned G1 fight for Earth's energy. I thought the effects were very good, and I think they've really caught they're stride since the last film. The robot on robot action was no where near as hard on the eyes as the first one. I didn't find myself getting disoriented as easily during the fight scenes, but they're were still just as intense. Good stuff. Another complaint I've heard is the twins Mudflap & Skids and the racial stereotype that they represent, ala Jar Jar Binks. I didn't once think of them as an accurate portrayal of the African American culture. In fact, I saw them as a couple of goofy wanna-be gangsta white-boy robots that constantly make fools of themselves. Any thoughts? Either way I liked the movie and definitely plan to see it again before it leaves theaters. Probably not 7 times for this one, but definitely once or twice more. The first movie was something special and I give it a solid 5/5. New one is good, but for me it didn't quite match the magic of the first. I think 4/5 is fitting. Go see it!

Saw the movie last night. First impression, it was worth the money. Here's a bit more on the details.
The Lame.
Some of the language was unneeded, but I don't feel over the top. Being a father of 2 kids, there's nothing that was in that movie that hasn't come out of my mouth at one time or another. All except for when one of the mouth Autobots called that one guy a P#ssy. Not sure why that was needed.
There were however a few scenes that were just down right juvenial. Two dogs humping was thrown in your face, not once, but twice and then followed up with a robot humping Megan Fox's leg. Whatever.....
The amazing!
Optimus Prime delivered the goods! The fight scene with him, Megatron, Starscream, and I think it was Blackout was one of the finest fight scenes ever done on film. This alone was worth the price of admission not to mention the final fights in the desert.
Some of the plot was a little difficult to follow. Not being a huge Transformers fan, I'm still a little lost on some of it. Overall though it was well done enough to satisfy.
I gotta go, if I think of more I'll add later.

Went to see it myself. It was good, but not great. A little too crass for me, and I'm far from a prude but come on - this really isn't for kids. It was just all over the board. Seems like they tried to cram way too much into it - action/more robots/a love story/out of place humor from 6 different sources of comic relief (hint, you only need one or two). And because of this one of the most important things got left out - the story.
If they would have cut out some of the unnecessary elements they would have found room for some plot. For example....
*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*
Cut out:
Humping Dogs Swearing Mom Drug Wacko Mom Kidnapped Parents (the Decepticons never really unitized them as hostages - pointless) Agent Simmons ass Alice (if they can look like people why look like tanks & dump trucks?)
I'm sure there is more that could be trimmed but the above frees up about an hour that could've gone into the story.
Don't get me wrong, it wasn't horrible. Transformers was what seemed like the last chance this summer for a movie to take on the champ STAR TREK and I think it failed. STAR TREK is a far better movie.

Yeah, after the masturbation reference in the first movie, I was really hoping they were going to clean this one up for the kids. I had a hard time enjoying it because of all the stuff in it that I felt was inappropriate for kids. I've also heard people complain about the "racist robots", and I'll admit I didn't understand why the twin robots were so ethnic (human), but it didn't bother me as much as Jar-Jar (or Watto...talk about a stereotype).
Another thing tat got to me is ...I didn't know what was going on. There are robots fighting in this movie *Spoiler* and there are many times when it is difficult to see who is getting punched, which one was the good robot...its hard to understand what is going on with the camera shifting so much.

I put my money down. How could I not I'm A huge G1 fan and the first movie showed a lot of potential. I think that the movie seemed rushed in production and I don't think they had a G1 fan involved in the making or no one lessoned to them. They waisted time on the new bots that didn't need to be in it like the twins and Wheelie (they are stupid) when Iron Hide and Ratchet got very little Screen time. Way to much Human "plot" (I didn't need to see Sams parents past the first sean) not enough of the autobots. Star scream got some more air time. Ravage and Soundwave = great. I with everyone on the sexual content and heavey language. The movie didn't need it. I do think shoot of the devastators "Balls" was funny. Did everyone notice that the constucticons appeared in battle after they had formed Devastator. The big battle with Prime in the woods WAS AMAZING! The hole thing looked great and the action was intense. I would give the movie a C+ or B- I wanted to love it but i couldn't
