OMG. I just saw part of the 1999 movie "Nick Fury - Agent of Shield" starring none other than David Hasselhoff. What a bag of poop. This was easily one of the worst movies I've ever seen to date about a comic book hero.
Essentially, it is about a terrorist organization (all German cast it seems...) that is trying to deliver a virus upon the world.
If you're a HUGE fan, hey -check it out. If not, don't....you will be disappointed. The only bright spot is that Hasselhoff really does look like the guy!

LOL! You are absolutely right, what a bag of excrement. I wouldn't recommend it to the most fervent SHIELD fan. If I remember right, it was a TV movie release like you say in 1999.
Another piece of atrocious waste of celluloid was the Captain America movie, can't remember if that was from the 80's or 90's. Actually had the Red Skull as some Italian count. Ugh! Putrid!
But if you want to see a not so bad Marvel treatment, check out the late 80's Punisher with believe or not, Dolph Lundgren as Frank Castle. Not half bad in my opinion (or at least not nearly as bad as The Masters of The Universe starring the same). Better than the other Punisher that came out a few years ago.

Better than the other Punisher that came out a few years ago. I actually thought that was pretty good for a stand-alone Marvel character movie. Tom Jane did a fine job IMO, and I'm sad to see he won't be in the new one. Guess I'll have to see the Dolph movie to put it into perspective, I'm sure it's a real gem. ;D I've never seen that Nick Fury movie, but hearing how bad it apparently is makes me want to watch it even more. I'm weird like that. ;D

If you some how come across the Lundgren Punisher original, keep in mind it's from the 80's. Involves the Italian "Mafia" mob and the Japanese "Yakuza" mob and one of the mob bosses' young son...I don't know, I liked it.

Honestly how good can anything be with David Hasselhoff as the star.

MM said she saw that this movie was going to be played on one of the premium cable channels this past weekend, but alas, it wasn't a channel that we have... I'll see this movie someday, no matter how crappy it is! ;D

We found a copy of this movie on DVD at Best Buy and just couldn't pass it up! ;D We watched it this weekend, and wow, was it ever cheesy! I thought it was good in the sense that I can appreciate almost any effort made towards turning a Marvel comic into a movie (after all, I really liked Spiderman 3 ), but it was just so darn cheesy! So cheesy, in fact, that it made the vegan in me feel guilty! ;D Okay, dumb joke... Moving on, the best way I've found to describe it is to compare it to Power Rangers. Same quality of writing, special effects, and cast. To quote reallyniceguy, "...It reeked of Saban". Still, check it out if you get the chance.

Really??? I'd take a few episodes of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers over that any day...
