I talked to the guys at the Mattel booth at the San Diego Comic Con '08 and I was informed that DC Fighting Figures are cancelled. They did not meet expectations.
I actually talked to one of the designers on the project. He was a really nice guy and he was pleased to hear I enjoyed his product, that was until I told him what I use the figures for..... He assured me that DC figures had better sculpts than Attacktix, I informed him that that was a matter of opinion and that Attacktix can actually knock over figures when they attack. He didn't say much after that. Too bad, I enjoyed talking to him.
All that to say, we wont see series 2 of DC Fighting Figures.

They were just mediocre IMO. Weak attacks and no game play. I'm not going to be missing anything. Too bad though. They did in fact have potential.
Attackix are way superior!
Better sculpts? Bah! Attacktix are amazing if you ask me. Look at some of the detail works. For instance look at your Clone Commander. Extra pistols on his hip, skirt around the back of the waist, big honking gun. He's got a great sculpt. Not to mention the Rebel Trooper or Venom (striker) who IMO are some of the best. And for a cheaper price than those fighting figures to boot!

Believe it or not, I'm sorry to hear that.
However, I think the fact that they removed the actual game portion from the figures before they released really sunk them.
That, and I think many of us had these expectations that they would attack in a way similar to 'tix in terms of power, but as many of us know, that wasn't the case.
The sculpts are very good and fit the DC aesthetic well...but oh well.

I'm sorry to hear that too, from a selfish perspective. Replacing blasters, making missiles heavier or making Flick Flight figures heavier for more knock down power was worth it to me.
Not having the Series 2 figs such as Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, Lex Luthor and HarleyQuinn is... oh well too bad.

I wonder if we'll see these released in some other format? You know, just minus the bases and tweeked a little here or there. Something along the lines of the GI Joe figures that Jack Punch used for his customs. Just a thought.
Two face's machine gun swipe was a really good attack. Too bad they didn't make any of the others that good.

Well, you can get these for Buy 2, Get 1 free for $14.99, which is 5 bucks a piece, at of all places Walgreens. (Not all Walgreens have them). Not bad, if you consider they are $8.99 at Toy R Us. Still some worthwhile customizing if you like DC.

Customizing was really the only good reason i saw in the DC fighting figures, if u consider ripping a figure off a base and glueing it on another customizing lol

I was just thinking about these figures again. I thought it was weird that they never went on clearance, they just disappeared from Target and Toys R us and the like.

I still see them at a lot of places around here...still full price.
I have my set...someday I will probably try to port them to 'tix.

I never see them anywhere anymore. They clearanced them all out at Toysrus and I never saw them anywhere else but there.
I never did do much with mine. With no Tix news or anything I just lost intrest in trying to make any customs anymore.

I've seen them on sale as of late at TRU...and they seem easy to find on ebay and amazon.
The launcher versions of Batman, Robin and Joker would seem to be easy mods, just swapping out their guns for tix guns. Two-Face striker seems like a direct port. The rest could work as ports but would take a wee bit more creativity.
Considering it appears the tooling was done for at least as second series, I'm really wondering if there is an outside chance we might see them again someday, repackaged in some form or another.
