I'm coming up with a newer way to play the game. If you know about the game Battlefront then you will easily understand these rules. If not feel free to ask questions or post any comments on how you would improve it. Note that specials do not ever activate during this type of game play.
The basic rules: For 2-6 players
Set up.
(Let it be noted that playing with obstacles in this kind of setting is encouraged. Build walls, pillars, or anything you can think of so that you must move around things to get to your destination.)
1. Each player will pick a faction to play with. For now I am strictly sticking to the 4 main ones as shown in the game Battlefront. Rebels, Empire, Clones, Droids.
2. Each player would then take their selected faction and be assigned figures that are prechoosen for the game.
Example
Clones would consist of:
X10 Clone Troopers of any color
X4 Clone Commanders of any color
X2 Jet Troopers (made from a flying Boba fett custom to be made later)
Droids would consist of:
X10 Battle Droids
X4 Super Battle Droids
X2 Destroyer Droids
Empire would consist of:
X10 Stormtroopers
X4 Heavy Stormtroopers
X2 Jet Troopers (made from a flying Boba fett custom to be made later)
Rebels would consist of:
X10 Rebel Troopers
X4 Cpt. Antilles
X2 S5 Chewbacca (from the starter set)
3. Each member of the game starts with X5 out of 10 of their basic styled Troopers at their Command Post that is located on their side of the table and is under cover so figures are not easily picked off. The rest of the figures are place outside of the playing field in what we are going to call Reserves.
4. A Command Post is actually a Medic Droid. Set your number to 1.
5. Additional Command Posts can be placed onto the board at various locations. Typically you would want an odd number of Command Posts to make it more interesting.
Play.
1. You will begin by moving all (if you choose all) your figures on the board. Then your opponent would do the same. You move the amount of Tix that show on the top of the base just like in basic Attacktix style.
2. As play continues you will inevitably encounter your opponent (after all this is the real reason your playing). What is different about this game is that you may move and attack with all of your figures on your turn.
3. If on your turn you defeat one of your opponents figures, then you may move your Medic Droid/Command Post to the next number. Defeated figures will never be returned. They are defeated for the rest of the game. You may only move the dial one time per turn no matter how many of your opponents figures you defeat on that turn. What this represents is your ability to tap into your reserves. If you defeat one of your opponents figures you would then move your dial to 2. This gives you the ability to bring in another Trooper figure at the beginning of your next turn. You would place him touching your Command Post.
This is a table to show what the number on the Command Post will represent:
Command Post/M.D. dial number.
1=0 (nothing can be brought in until you defeat one of your opponents figures. This discourages players from stacking figures while others are battling it out)
2=1 Trooper style figure (X10) may be brought in at the beginning of you next turn. Place him at your command post. You may do this each and every time you start your turn.
3=1 second listed figures (X4) may be brought in instead of a regular trooper.
4=Trooper/second in command figure.
5=3rd listed figure. Destroyers/Jet Pack Troopers
Make it back to 1 and you have now unleashed your HERO! Hero's will be explained later.
4. Now that you understand (or I hope you do) how and why there are Command Posts, let's talk about possessing and why we would want to possess another Command Post.
Command Posts.
You will come across vacant Command Posts along your journey to victory. To capture one, simply stand next to it for a complete round. A round is over once your turn and your opponents turn have ended. Once the round is complete, the Command Post is yours. It will be set to 1. However, here's the biggest benefit. You many start bringing in figures at your original Command Post and you new Command Post (as long as the new one is set to 2 or higher). You've now doubled the amount of figures you may bring in from reserves. If you defeat one of your opponents figures you will move the dial on your new Command Post, just like you did on your original Command Post. Both dials will move, you don't have to pick one or the other.
Heroes
Heroes are represented by whatever faction you are playing at the time. Heroes consist of the following figures per faction:
Droids - Grievous (double lightsaber)/Grievous shooter, Dooku, Darth Maul
Clones - Obi Wan (force blast/lightsaber), Yoda, Mace Windu
Rebels - Luke Skywalker (force blast/lightsaber), Han Solo, Chewbacca
Empire - Darth Vader (force blast/lightsaber), Darth Sidious
You would choose 1 figure to represent your hero. Heroes will come into play once and evertime you complete a Command Post dial from 1-5 and back to 1 again. A hero may be placed at anyone of the Command Posts you've obtained. If defeated they go back into your reserves. They may be called upon again once you make it from 1-5 to 1 again. Now if you have 2 Command Posts and both make it to 1 again, you still only have the ability to bring in 1 Hero. Never can you be assigned more than 1 Hero.
5. Game play continues until either one of 2 conditions are meet.
1. All of your opponents figures are defeated.
2. You have possessed all Command Posts for a total of 1 round.
Let me know your thoughts.
