Hey gang, Here's a battle board I made about a year ago (where does the time go?) that I didn't get around to posting and I unfortunately don't get to use often. I work at a sign making company and the physical production of the board was a snap. It's just 2 - 3' x 6' adhesive backed digital prints (like big stickers) on a .5" pressed wood board. Here's the main battle area... The center white area is 36" x 36" (my preferred playing area) with a 30" x 30" (Hasbro tourney sized) area marked off in light blue) On the sides each player gets two 6" x 18" areas for their Back-ups and Defeated piles. Think of them as space-aged locker rooms. Now this is all well and good & the battle board is a nice surface to play on, but the real fun happens when you flip this sucka to side two... (cue: Imperial March)I give you... THE DEATH STARFEATURING:LANDING BAY & CARGO ELEVATOR SHAFTDon't fall in fellas...TRACTOR BEAM CONTROL & SHAFT"Did you hear something?..."THAT OTHER SHAFT"Quick, use your grappling hook Princess!" "Oops, I left it in my Series 4 outfit!"CORRIDORS & WALK-WAYS"... Now I am the master!" "Only a master of being a jerk-face Darth!"TRASH COMPACTOR"What a lovely smell you've discovered!"... and there you have it. 6' x 3' feet of fun (and not to mention Shaft after Shaft after Shaft) I've kept the rules of the Death Star board simple to fit with with the simple rules of Attacktix. There are no restrictions on shooting. All lines of sight/fire are open (even when characters are in the Trash Compactor). Characters that move through or fall into the Trash Compactor must move half their speed. Round down for odd numbers. Being knocked into a shaft eliminates that figure.

You should make those for Mini's battles and sell them. You'd make a mint!
Exceptional!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

NICE!!! Wow, that is a great job! Did you do all the artwork yourself?

Thanks gang! It was a labor of love.
Yep, I did the artwork my self (for the most part). The floor grating (red & gray) and the wall panels going down the various shafts came from web sites for Star Wars action figure diorama makers and the garbage at the bottom of the Compactor came from photos I found online of a Hasbro Trash Compactor toy. But once I got these images they required a bunch of PhotoShop tweaking.
Everything else I made from scratch. For example, I constructed the Trash Compactor in Adobe Illustrator and then imported it into PhotoShop to muck it up. I'd then bring it back into Illustrator and set it in it's place. Most of the shafts went through this process over and over again as I was never quite satisfied with the perspective or shading.
I was also working on a Mr. Fantastic lab w/ transporter pads and Negative Zone portal (where's our Mr. Fantastic, Hasbro?) and a Danger Room (based on an old HeroClix map I made) which I was doing for you kids on this site as I don't collect/play Marvel. I hope to finish them some day but the computer they live in is all crashy.

Sounds like fun, a very nice board, the forced perspective is really nice. The two Marvel sets would be really nice. Sorry to hear that the computer is crashy, what's the issue, maybe I could help?

The issue is kinda major. I've consulted with my buddy who's an IT guy. He said it doesn't look good but the information inside the computer should still be intact (I'm mainly concerned about losing my 5000+ song iTunes library)
At first the problem was that the computer would finish starting up and I would get an error message about a missing extention (explorer.exe) and I wouldn't have the little blue bar w/ start menu at the bottom of the screen. In this situation I could still access some things but other things wouldn't work, like sound for example. My IT buddy gave me a windows prompt to try the next time I went on the computer and this happens, but I never got the chance because we are now on to problem two...
Now when I turn the computer on I get a black loading screen with a gray progress bar at the bottom. The bar will go for a bit then I'll get the message that the computer can't start because of the missing explorer extention. Since I was using a bootleg version of Windows I don't have a disc to reload it, etc.
Like I said, I'm not too worried about the computer itself - just the info trapped inside it.

You didn't have a backup?! Shame on you. If it just the system and not a problem with the drive you should be able to Take the drive out ( set it to slave) and put it into a new pc.

sfx, do you by chance have an external hard drive? Or maybe know someone that does have one? If you can get your hands on one you could remove the hard drive from your computer, install it into the external enclosure... Then just connect it to another PC, and copy anything you would like to rescue... After thats all done then you can reinstall the hard drive to your PC, reformat, and re-install windows (not too hard to find a windows disk )... I have done this several times, and seems to be a good method of fixing what cant be fixed. Oh! I would recommend to anyone all day long that they get an external hard drive if they dont have one...... They are relatively inexpensive, and are about the most handy thing you could ever ask for. Also, that battle board is about 12 kinds of B.A.!
