I do like a good excuse to use power tools. You are right, when we use dice, it makes the game a little different, worse even, OK. But I had concerns on where people are supposes to get bases with high ratios. Most of the superheroes will probably have fairly high ratios, but if we just use a little paint that solves all those problems (good teamwork Attacktixman/IonicDesign/DONP/Dvandom). I will now agree there is no need for dice. Now we just need to wait for the figures to come out to figure out what to do with them And YodaBreaker is right, all game functions have been removed from DC Fighting Figures at of about the same time the name was changed from DC Battleague (such a better name). And I can only speak for one of the figures, flying Superman. His attack is hard to aim, impossible at close range, and he is REALLY top heavy so he falls down easily. However, I play 'Tix with him. So, I would think that all the figures will convert easily into Attacktix with some clever point assessments. But that is nothing new to us (Bail Organa = 3 Jedi Knights ?). I would suggest that this Superman should be a 20 point figure. I say this not to open a debate (which should be done when most/all parties involved have had a reasonable chance to acquire figures up for debate), but instead to suggest that the point values might for DC figures not all be on par with Darth Vader, Optimus Prime, and Magneto. There are going to be people favorite figures that will be in the 20-30 point range.

When the DC figs hit the streets, open up a new "Battle League" thread and select a committee. It certainly worked out well for the "Attacktix" Q&As.

Here's what I believe to be readily available Attacktix:
Star Wars Series 4 Boosters
Marvel Series 1 Boosters
Transformers Series 1 Boosters
All the above I still see on retailers shelves, particularly K-Mart, some still at Wal-Marts. Not to mention various re-buyer stores (TJ Maxx, Marshalls, etc).
Also:
Marvel Series 1 Starter
Transformers Series 1 Starter
Star Wars Starter 68237/68236 Asst (Han, Chewie, Boba, Greedo)
Spider-Man Tourney Set
All of the above have been quite heavily discounted in the Continental U.S.A although apparently in some regions more than others.
So this is about 70 figures to choose from. Please, give your feedback, suggestions, etc. I myself don't think SW Series 1, 2 & 3 are readily available. I'm quite sure there are others I haven't mentioned that can be added.
After we come up with our pool of potential Tix bases, we can use Tix Tool to categorize the size, wheel percentage, etc. of each base. Don't want to do that yet, until we have some consensus on what are available bases.
Oh, the idea is to identify potential available Tix bases first. No sense in my mind in putting let's say Batman on SW Series 1 Yoda's base, for instance. Then, after the DC FF's come out, we can begin the real fun of which DC fig goes on what base with what points, powers, class, faction, etc!

In the same thinking as using redily available Attacktix, I think ideally we should use the most common figures as well. "Rare" (non-super rare) are considered worth less than super rare and certinly more availible than the Spiderman Tournament sets and Starter sets.
I suggest we should attempt to use (as stated above) set Star Wars 4, Marvel 1, Transformers 1. And in those sets we should attempt to use #1-6, as those are the most commonly available figures in the most available sets.

I agree this you totally conceptually, but there are two issues with using the last series' rare figures. 1. Base Size. would be limited to 4.5 cm, a medium base, fine for a lot of figures, but not a worthy ground for many of the Marquee characters from DC I would think. 2. Special Rations. if unaltered would max out at 50% (Elektra) and many are only about 15%. Again perhaps not worthy of the prime characters from the DC universe.

Ionic has a good point. So does Radar. I'm really liking having more than one, let's say two (or in some cases three) standardized bases per figure. Opens up things quite a bit and affords more flexibility. Also, the option of scoring/ painting white or black is still viable. I'm hoping that Tix have become so affordable that most won't mind taking apart a few Super Rares. On the other hand, personally, I've got so many Beasts I can't wait to use them up!
Just realized that the DC FF's themselves don't have many figs that I would call "cannon fodder" or "lackey" types that lend themselves to the 10 pt. type of figure. I suppose Harlequin & CatWoman might be 10 pointers. This speaks nothing of the actual power of their attacks which we'll just have to wait and see when they come out.

If the "flick flight" figures have the same springlet as the Superman figures, I think they might be more powerful than they've been given credit for. I've been practicing a bit with Supes, and I really haven't found a fig he can't knock down from 14 tix or so...

Maybe I just haven't practiced with him enough, but I haven't had much luck with Superman. I found him very difficult to aim with.

The trick is tipping the base. Aim his outstretched arm right at the opponent figures head, and then let him rip.

Has anyone picked any of these up yet? I know they are on ebay, I'm guessing they have reached at least some stores?
Anyway...I noticed that on top of the flick flight and "rocker" punch, the overhead throw figures also have some sort of mechanism under their foot...one that presumably controls the attack...I'm wondering if that one too is built into the base, or just the figure itself.
