By standardizing the upcoming DC Fighting Figures for Attacktix, we can have figures that have the same points, class, powers, tix speed, etc. So vote!

Yeah, this sounds like a great ida to keep the spirit of 'Tix alive. But if this happens we also need to decide when these figures can be used. Are they allowed at TixCon should be the big question. It seems obvious that they would not be allowed at officially sanctioned Hasbro Attacktix tournaments, so where can we play with DC figures?

So will a thread be made for each figure, options discussed and a poll created then for all to vote, or how shall decisions be made?

I voted "Yes". I think it's a great idea to extend the reach of the 'Tix Universes, as well as getting everyone in on some custom action. However, for me, I'll only be using my broken 'Tix figures as custom fodder. I've never felt comfortable with the idea of massacring perfectly good figures... Which is why I haven't started customizing already. I think they'd be welcome at TixCon, but I think it should be divided into a DC only Tournament. Just as the other Universes were kept separate for TixCon 07, so should these, mainly because they'll be a hybrid of a new Attacktix Universe and a line of customs.

Yes, of course, the base! How could I have not mentioned that? Another Attacktixman moment! My thought is maybe even two or three "approved" bases per actual DC FF. Not so crazy, sort of what Hasbro has done with the different variations of Luke, Vader, Bossk, Scout Trooper, Excellion, Hotshot, Spiderman, etc. Same exact fig (ok, maybe repainted differently) just on different bases. Reason I'm suggesting this is I think not everyone may have the same exact Tix bases immediately available. If there are two or three standardized bases to choose from, chances are that someone will have atleast one available they're willing to take apart to get the base. Tournament play is an excellent point. Hopefully, Tournament organizers will allow for or even create a DC FF Tix event. (If its an official Hasbro Attacktix Tournament, I guess they might not go for it). I'm really thinking even just for playing amongst friends that "standardizing" will be useful. I'm thinking the current Rules Committee is a good place to start. A tremendous source of people who really know their stuff: Joe Manzo, YodaBreaker, Malform, Webhead amongst others come to mind. Thanks, Radar, Ionic & DoNP for considering this I mean I'm going to put DC FF on Tix bases anyway and I'm positive there are atleast four others who will too. I'm thinking there may be far more than that and "standardizing" can make this alot more fun and rewarding for the Tix community. Atleast IMO. I'm sure those of us who have spare bases from customizing will get them out to others in the Tix community to help make this successful. Join the Brotherhood of Tix!

Oh yeah, this is a no-brainer and a great idea!
I think that these maybe could have their own separate event at say TixCon, since not everyone is able or willing to make the customs, plus it'd be hard to officiate if the number of white spots on the special powers wheel is what it is supposed to be (oh, I "Accidentally used SW3 Ben Kenobi (85%) when I should have used A 23% figure").
My idea would be that a thread for each with discussion should be posted with ideas for everything, and then someone "in charge" narrows the ideas down for pts/base/special, etc into a poll that gets voted on.

The Tix wheel is something I completely forgot about! Rather than trying to hunt for the appropriate wheel for each figure, we could just decide upon the right percentage for each special, then modify the base's existing wheel. Perhaps a label over-top of the wheel?

Perhaps a label over-top of the wheel? I believe that this sort of functionality (making a special power overlay) is already available in Malform's Tixtool. So Base size and percentage would be important, the special can be altered with Tixtool I think.

Using this link that Webhead817 provided, I put together a list of figures that we have to work with. I noted their apparent attack styles, but some of them are unclear. It looks as if a few of the Launchers could be Prodders. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wave 1 Superman (Flier) Vs. Darkseid (Tosser) Batman (Launcher) Vs. Two-Face (Tosser) Batgirl (Striker) Vs. The Joker (Launcher) Robin (Launcher) Vs. Two-Face (Striker) Batman (Striker) Vs. Catwoman (Flier) Martian Manhunter (Striker) Vs. Lex Luthor (Launcher) Robin (Flier) Vs. Scarecrow (Launcher) Wave 2 (Figures marked with an * are those that appear to be recycled from Wave 1) Batman (Striker)* Vs. Scarecrow (Launcher)* Green Lantern (Launcher) Vs. The Joker (Launcher) Green Arrow (Launcher) Vs. Two-Face (Striker)* Bat girl (Launcher) Vs. Harley Quinn (Launcher) Robin (Launcher)* Vs. The Penguin (Striker) Superman (Tosser) Vs. Lex Luther (Launcher)* Superman (Flier)* Vs. The Joker (Launcher) ...And a M.I.A Aqua man figure. Are there any other previewed figures that are missing from these sets? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The nifty part is that if you subtract the recycled figures in Wave 2 you have 22 different figures. That means enough for 18 Booster pack figures, and 4 Starter Set figures just like Attacktix! ;D

Ah, but with the 6 repaints it makes it all the more, "just like Attacktix! ;D"
Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Great point, Cona. When someone puts a label on the back of the base such as "DC-01-1" (Front label, let's say " 30 L BATMAN Bat faction") they are stating on their honor that they used the correct & approved TIX base for that series #. Also at Tournaments, (although it may be more time consuming than I realize), could have a check in and acceptance crew or opponent's check each others fig's Tix wheels. Can you imagine, "click,click,click,click..., ok, good, next figure please" Great job on listing the figs DoNP! Starter Set is a awesome idea! Oh gosh, here we go with the repaints! Right now, the more the merrier!

I think it bould be best to wait a month or so until the figures actually come out before we start deciding how powerful they should be. For instance, I got one of the Superman promo figures, he looks really cool, but he is top heavy and hard to aim with, I'm thinking Superman is only a 20 point figure. But before I had him in my hand I was thinking...He launches himself, that's got to be a 40 point figure at least.
Anyway, when we finally decide, we should make a file with all the labels so people can print them easily.
Also, if it becomes difficult to get a basw with the right # of white spots, we could always just incorporate dice rolling for the tournament. ...Has anyone ever heard of a 26 sided dice, that would be cool.

30 sided dice are fairly easy to find. Oddly, despite all his other weird dice, I don't think Zocchi ever made a 26 sider for rolling random letters. Of course, there's arbitrary dice rolling programs available as freeware for PDAs and laptops.
Personally, I'd rather wait to study the rules for this game and see if there's a way to merge them as-is...kitbash the rules rather than the figures.

I've been looking on line for a 26 sided dice, but can't seem to find one. That really suprises me being that there are 26 letters in the alphabet. It seems like somebody would make one. It's a shame too, 'cause that would have been an easy way to determine liklihood of power ratios.
In any case, we could just all agree to re-roll a 30-sided dice if we roll a 27,28,29, or 30. That is assuming we use the dice rolling @ TixCon.
