I would also like to know why when Radar interviewed Brian the first time he said that they were going to try and get SW5 and TF2 out ASAP, but now these series seem to be on the hiatus as well? Admittedly I had trouble understanding him in some places, but I'm not sure where that is in the interview. When are the new series coming out? We have no new release date as of yet for the new series, we are currently working on placement right now.I that SW 5 and TF 2? Those are the ones I’m talking about.edited:for spelling

I guess that I understood it as "working on placement right now" as "hey, were getting these things out as fast as we can at the moment".
Now that it's been 7 months since I've seen the video I understand it to a better degree. He meant that they were going to wait until all the stores had them clearanced out and then look for a new placement.
The good thing is that here all stores have clearanced them out. There's none to be found in any of the stores that I have walked into with the exception of 1 Walmart that has 3 starter sets for $7.00 in the clearance aisle for about 2 weeks now.

We also have to understand that Brian at Hasbro has dozens of executive type people above him making decisions that can and probally do change all the time. He gave us information that was (or he thought was) correct at the time. Who knows what has changed since then.

Terrain would be simple enough to rig. Each player gets to place a piece or two, they don't move and simply get in the way. Maybe even make the packaging so it can become terrain pieces (i.e. tech-pattern blisters), although those could be smacked out of the way pretty easily by attacks.

In January, there were starters at Dollar General. I can see why Hasbro is having some troubles with deciding where to place the Attacktix. Late last year Hasbro launched a "Pokemon figure" game which is a little bit similiar to Attacktix. The figures sell in a four pack with one figure being 'blind packed'. At Target, the figures appear in the toy section near the card games, whereas at Toys R Us, they appeared in the Pokemon section with the action figures. I do hope that Hasbro comes up with a solution though, even if it means that each Attacktix "line" has to be broken up into different pegs in the Action Figure section. I did notice something interesting at Wal-Mart though. They've started to place the Star Wars Transformers figures on the pegs between both Transformers (on the left) and Star Wars (on the right). Maybe Attacktix could join that strategy.

Hasbro doesn't have the license to Pokemon anymore, so they aren't the ones that made that game. Jakks Pacific has had the license for (I think) the past 2 years, though I don't think they made the game either. I believe it's the actual "Pokemon Company" that is in charge of it. Either way, I'm sure they're having the same problem with marketing that Hasbro had with Attacktix. I've seen some stores that have them in multiple places, like with the Pokemon cards and with the action figures. I'm sure not all stores would be willing to devote multiple places for something like that, but it's definitely a good idea that covers all the bases. Maybe Attacktix will return with a similar marketing solution.

maybe battle figure games just need there own section, and there could be like a sign in the places where it might be saying "Attacktix in the TFG isle" or something like that

Hey guys and gals, I wanted to pass along an official update... I know this release provides no specifics on release dates... - Brett Not even a timeline yet? This means those with the real power at Hasbro could care less about Attacktix. They are focused on what brings the highest profit margin. So there may be a Design Team working on a relaunch, but they don't call the shots.

So there may be a Design Team working on a relaunch, but they don't call the shots. Well,....yeah. As Americas #1 Toy company they are not going to sell something that doesn't sell just because they think it is fun,...well not any more. You guys really should check out the book "Toy Wars". There was a point in time that G.I. Joe was "sold" at retail just because Hasbro liked him, but them they took a look at the numbers and saw it was unpractical. Anyway, he's come back a few times, I expect that we will see Attacktix in some form or another in due time. As for the design team, they are being paid to get figure out how to sell Attacktix best. I mean really, if you were in charge of Hasbro, you have limited shelf space in stores, would you green light Attacktix as a profitable game today, or wait until it looks like it would be ridiculously profitable later? Hasbro isn't #1 in the states because they make bad business decisions. Give it time, when the time is right, we will see Attacktix again.

As for the design team, they are being paid to get figure out how to sell Attacktix best. Not exactly. The design team designs what ever toy(s) Hasbro tells them to. The sales and marketing team are the kids getting paid to figure out how to sell what ever toys Hasbro told the design team to design. [edit] ... although that first question/answer grayelephant pointed out does make it look like they might mix the two disciplines up. Two completely different departments that are possibly in different buildings, cities, states or even countries.
