Yeah, it's a little depressing. However, I still hold faith in the relaunch 09'! All good things come to an end sooner or later. I was shocked when I saw Garbage Pail Kids, Mad Balls, and Crossbows/Catapults come back out. I am 33 and remember these from when I was a kid. Hopefully we won't have to wait that long for Attacktix to reemerge, but the point to be taken is that toys seem to make a second go around sooner or later. So the real question is - Will you still want to buy them when they do? I still have mine and still play occasionally (When Chris and my schedules meet up) and would still buy them. I really am sad to see the state of this great forum and great game...

As far as I'm concerned, Hasbro is missing out on the fun. I'm still playing Attacktix and will continue to play Attacktix until I'm old and gray and my eyesight gets too poor to see the incoming missiles and my arthritic fingers can't steadily hold anything anymore.
I love Attacktix - party's still on! I have hundreds to play with - would love to see new ones - but I got enough figures to hold me out for several years to come! And, I don't see why we can't use this time to create all those wonderful customs. In all honesty, some of the customs I've seen put Hasbro figures to shame! If this hiatus doesn't let up, Hasbro's invitation to the party will expire - and they will be out on a lot of fun! Keep playing folks! Attacktix is more than a game of battling figures - it's an Idea. And the Idea is already born - hard parts over. Keep the faith!!!!!

Here, here! You've said it completely AWOL! I can't agree with you more! Tix may be near dead in terms of Hasbro releasing new figs and even in terms of the lowly number of members frequenting this Forum, but the game is still an awesome game!
How fickle and spoiled people are. Jump on the bandwagon and off it even faster! Always need something new! Frustrating to see pics of Tix that never were released? You betcha!
But the nature of this game is so unpredictable that it never gets boring! Even with the "same old Figs", still exciting just the same.
Attacktix has so many facets:, strategiZin', CustomiZin', squad buildin', etc. Its in fact the only "miniature" game I've ever really gotten into!
So who wants to join the Brotherhood of Tix? Pledge you will in some way keep the game "alive"; post to this Forum on a (somewhat regular) basis, etc.

I couldn't agree with you guys more. This game has so much more potential. I see mats or boards being sold with areas where you can attach terrain. Hoth, Cybertron, Endor, City, Danger Room, Death Star, Dagabah, Contruction site, and I'm sure you get the point. So much potential that was hardly tapped.
My only reserve is that only recieving one series of each Marvel and Transformers is whats depressing. I was really excited for Marvel s2 and Transformers s3. I would be fine if Star Wars s5 wasn't released as long as I got the 2 above mentioned.
That's not to say I don't want s5. It's just if I had a choice, those are the 2 I'm most excited about.

I'm still keeping the faith too. The petition has gone stale in recent months, but we're currently working on a new promo video for it. Hopefully that helps us. We still play too, but not as often as I'd like. D&D has taken up a lot of our time lately (whether I like it or not ). I'm also tossing around the idea of going to SteelCityCon as a dealer this time. I could have my own table devoted to Attacktix, where I could sell some of my spare figures, demo the game, and hopefully snag some more petition signatures in the process too! Right now I'm just estimating the costs of that idea and weighing the options, but I hope to make it happen. I'll keep you guys posted. Other than that, I just take it day by day, hoping that we'll eventually hear some news (good, bad, ANY news) from Hasbro.

Attacktix appears to be a no show at Toy Fair 09. I guess there was a small part of me that really thought maybe we'd see something.

Guys, got some news. You won't like it, but it's news.
I was at Gencon, sitting with an exec at Hasbro, having a drink. It just so happens that a good bud of mine is very close friends with him, and just by the grace of God alone I happened to be at the right place at the right time.
So, anyhow, I am introduced to him and we chat for a while, have a beer and talk about the economy and the state of gaming, the fact that Gencon was really pathetic on the dealer hall floor, and other subjects.
So, up comes a co-worker of his, another exec in games named Tom. Didn't catch his last name. Anyhow, I say, "You guys know Brian Wilk?" and they laugh and say, "Oh yeah, we know Wilk, how do you know him". So, I tell them that I saw him at a Comic Con and had a chat during the reign of an old game called Attacktix. Tom lets out a big belly laugh and says, "Holy Sh$$, I remember that game. What a train wreck." I asked him about that, kind-of playing along to see what the deal was, and what he meant. CVN said, " Who knows, maybe it could come back...anything's possible" and laughs so hard that it was incendiary. So I asked told him candidly, "Yeah, it was a kid's game, right? I just couldn't see it coming back, although my daughter liked it and there's a good amount of fans", to which he responded, "yeah, but there's no way in hell that it's ever coming back. That is a DEAD property. I don't think Wilk will ever live that one down!"
So, in short, don't get anyone's hopes up, this thing is KIA. GreyElephant was at Gencon and saw me (hell, he played a tournament on my ticket with my buddy's figs!) and anyone who knows me knows that I may be full of crap, but not on stuff like this.
Take it for what it's worth - they're not going to make these ever again.

At least I've still got Heroscape to keep me gaming!
Bad news indeed. Wonder why it conflicts with Radar's meeting he had?
Truthfully, I don't care. I still hold out hope that one day we'll see them again. Of course my old wrinkly fingers might have a hard time striking or pushing the buttons. ;D

It is strange that Radar had such a different encounter. If the game is really dead, what do Hasbro reps have to gain by lying about it? Outside of this small band, no one cares anyway.

If Attacktix was such a disaster, why wasn't it killed after the first or second round? Obviously the Hasbro guys have no memory and we just need to wait for another brainstorming session when someone says, "Hey remember that old Attacktix game, that would sell great with Xmen 6 coming out."

...well, I'm not sure Marvel and Transformers did so well, or Star Wars 4 either, but it is fairly safe to assume that there were three Star Wars series that did well.

Yea, I don't get the "train wreck" thing either. Toy lines come and go all the time. Is each one that fails (or fades) considered a train wreck? Was this guy just being a bit over the top with his word usage or was their some other tragic thing going on behind the scenes at Hasbro.
