100-point Squad Building Challenge! Round 2 done!

I need new Attacktix squads. I have some squads I use often, and some are quite good, but I want to try something different, something new. I thought about how there are some absolutely great Attacktix players here on the boards and wondered if any would be willing to help me, which I figured they would because the members on this message board rock.

Here's how it will work:

1. A maximum of eight people can sign up to be part of this squad building challenge. If there any less than that join, I will throw together a few Attacktix teams. You join simply by posting that you will be taking the challenge. The deadline for sign up is this Friday (August 11)

2. Once all the slots are filled, I will begin sending everyone, in order of sign-up, a personal message with all eligible Attacktix figures in it. Each player may choose ONE figure per draft turn. Each figure that is chosen is then taken off the list and is no longer eligible to be picked. If a player does not select a figure within three days, I will pick a figure for them. If you are selecting a figure for your back-ups, specifically state that when you are selecting your figure. When you reach 100 points and 50 points backups (if you want backups), name your squad. If you don't I will do so for you. Also the full list of my figures will be here in this post and it will be updated as the figures are drafted.

3. Once everyone has drafted their 100-point squad, I will fill out an eight-squad, single elimination tournament bracket. The beginning match-ups will be determined randomly.

4. I will play a single elimination tournament against myself over the course of a few days, with full updates and match synopsises posted here. Each match between the squads will be "best two out of three".

5. After the championship game, the winner will recieve... NOTHING! Bwahahahaha!
Actually, the winner will get the honor of knowing that they have defeated seven other Attacktix players in order to create the best squad possible from a limited resources draft as well as a warm fuzzy feeling from helping a fellow player find a new and interesting squad.

A note on the codytyler/starwarskid situation. I will leave both users up and eligible. However, in the interest of fairness, I am seperating the two and moving the "codytyler" accounts drafting number to 4. This is to keep even the slightest possibility of one person getting two drafts in a row, even if A.) It is two people and B.) the teams are seperate.

Also, thanks Ben Kenobi for pointing out Tarkin being in the wrong place. He was obviously passing himself off as more than he's worth.

I'm currently awaiting clarification from Superflytnt as far as if he still wants to enter the challenge considering that he posted a squad with figures I don't have rather than wait for the draft of figures I do have, which is the main idea behind the whole challenge.

If superflytnt still wants to draft, we now have a full house thanks to hansolo333 and my decision to just throw in my Autobot Invasion team for the heck of it.

PMs will begin either once I get a reply from superflytnt confirming he's still in, another person signs up if superfly ISN'T in, or superflytnt doesn't want to draft and no one else signs up by Friday so I enter the draft myself.

Alright, I'm dropping out my Autobot team since we now have all eight slots filled!

The first draft PM has been sent out to starwarskid and then we'll just work our way down the list.

I have some personal experience with drafting figures, as that is what we're forced to do in our household due to having only one communal pot of Attacktix, so here are some tips I've learned.

1. Always grab the key figures for your squad first.

This is self explanatory but if you really want Mace Windu, pick him up.

2. Grab important troop builders as soon as possible.

Goes hand-in-hand with point 1 but if your squad needs Jedi Knights more than it needs Mace Windu, grab your Jedi first. I expect them to go very, very quickly in the draft.

3. Expect someone to take a figure you want.

You don't know how many times I've played my dad in a draft and he picked up Kit Fisto while I was attempting to draft an all-Jedi squad, had only twenty points left, and didn't have any other 20-point Jedi to pick.

4. Be ready to change up your squad idea.

Always be be prepared to have to completely switch gears and go in the opposite direction on a squad. If you have a Jedi squad ready and already have Mace Windu, there might not be any Jedi figures left when the draft gets back to you. In this case, change gears and move elsewhere. I'd personally grab S2 Obi-Wan, a pair of Wickets, and another two troopers if this happened but there are many ways to change things around.

5. Draft position IS important.

While it may seem like going first gives you a huge advantage and going last makes life miserable, that is not the case. By getting a later draft pick, you can see what the enemy is choosing and go to counter but many figures will be gone by the time they reach you. By going earlier, you get first dibs on figures but have no idea what the enemy is drafting. These advantages go away after the first round, but that's generally all you need to get a good squad started.

If you do not draft within two days of recieving a PM, I will make a choice for you.

The reason behind this is one of our competitors might not have internet access for awhile due to vacationing.
