I ran this by Joe to make sure it can go here instead of the "What would you like to see in the future of Attacktix?" thread. Just a note to moderators.
I've been working on some conceptual designs for several series of all three confirmed lines of Attacktix (Star Wars, Transformers, and Marvel). I'm not a skilled Attacktix customizer, so I can't post pictures. I'm not a digital concept artist or even just a regular hand-drawn artist, so I can't post images. I am good, however, at figuring out stats, basic looks, powers, and the like.
These figure concepts are all text, at least for now.
I (and Joe) respectfully request that people do not put their own concept ideas in this thread so it doesn't become another "Future of Attacktix" thread.
I would like comments on these ideas, though. That way I can know whether my ideas are good or not and whether I should pursue this even farther.
Right now I have completed the first series which is based off Star Wars: Episode 1. Upcoming are Marvel X-Men, Transfomers Beast Wars, Star Wars: Episode 2, Star Wars: Episode 5, and at least one series of Star Wars: Expanded Universe.
So, without further ado, below is the maiden voyage of Grievous' Attacktix Concepts.

Star Wars Episode I
New Class: Naboo (Made up of Gungans and the Queen's troops)
Rares:
Battle Droid Star Wars Class: Droid Army Attacktix Class: Trooper Points: 10 Base Size: 4cm Speed: 4 (one spot of 5, one spot of 3) Attack: Small Red Missile Power: Attackback: Droid Army 15% Notes: Series 1 sculpt but the figure's shoulders would be painted red. Troop Builder.
Naboo Soldier Star Wars Class: Naboo Attacktix Class: Trooper Points: 10 Base Size: 4cm Speed: 4 (one spot of 5, one spot of 3) Attack: Small Green Missile Power: Attackback: Naboo 15% Note: Troop Builder that looks a lot like Panaka but different enough to tell him apart.
Neimoidian Lieutenant Star Wars Class: Droid Army Attacktix Class: Captain Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 6 (two spots of 7, two spots of 5) Attack: Large Red Missile Power: Charge: Droid Army x2 23% Note: This figure would be a re-release of the S2 Neimodian Captain sculpt.
R2-D2 Star Wars Class: Naboo Attacktix Class: Specialist Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 8 (two spots of 9, one spot of 7) Attack: Electrojabber Prodder Power: Battle Cry 53% Notes: This R2-D2 would be a completely original sculpt. He would be leaning a little forwards and have a large wall behind him, allowing room for his prodder which would come out of the upper half of his chest.
Gungan Trooper Star Wars Class: Naboo Attacktix Class: Trooper Points: 10 Base Size: 4cm Speed: 4 (one spot of 5, one spot of 3) Attack: Small Green Missile Power: Charge: Naboo x2 23% Notes: Another Troop Builder, this figure's missile would come out of a large slingshot-type shooter.
Probe Droid Star Wars Class: Sith Attacktix Class: Trooper Points: 10 Base Size: 4cm Speed: 4 (one spot of 6, two spots of 3) Attack: Small Red Missile Power: Charge: Sith 30% Notes: Figures sculpt would have the droid hovering with a clear piece of plastic holding it to a large structure of rocks. Much needed troop builder and shooter for the Sith.
Super Rares:
Jar Jar Star Wars Class: Naboo Attacktix Class: Specialist Points: 20 Base Size: 4cm Speed: 8 (one spot of 10, one spot of 6) Attack: Tongue Striker Power: Recruit: Naboo 38% Note: His striking implement would still be at the waist as the figure would be crouching down a bit.
Qui-Gon Jinn Star Wars Class: Jedi Attacktix Class: Warrior Points: 30 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 12 (two spots of 13, one spot of 11) Attack: Green Lightsaber Striker Power: Recruit: Obi-Wan Kenobi OR Anakin Skywalker 61% Note: Just a simple striker. Would use a Kit Fisto-based sculpt but with human hands and, obviously, Qui-Gon's head.
Padme Amidala Star Wars Class: Naboo Attacktix Class: Leader Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 6 (one spot of 7, one spot of 8, two spots of 5) Attack: Large Green Missile Power: Sacrifice: Naboo 61% Note: Would use a sculpt of her as the "red dress with white face paint" queen from the early scenes of the movie, even though she never wielded a blaster when she looked like that. Sacrifice power simply because the movies seem to show that the Naboo would give their own lives to save the Queen so it seems to fit.
Neimodian Technician Star Wars Class: Droid Army Attacktix Class: Specialist Points: 20 Base Size: 4cm Speed: 6 (one spot of 7) Effect: Has a dial like the Medic Droid but only has three notches. Whenever the pointer reaches one, the user of the figure may put a Battle Droid into play from his or her backups. Power: Recruit: Battle Droid 23% Note: This figure's sculpt would be that of the weird Neimoidian guy who sits in the chair in the middle of the Trade Federation main bridge and activates the droids. He'd be sitting in his chair which would turn beneath him.
Darth Maul Star Wars Class: Sith Attacktix Class: Warrior Points: 30 Base Size: 5cm Speed: 10 (one spot of 12, one spot of 9) Attack: Red Double-bladed Lightsaber Power: Recruit: Probe Droid x2 38% Note: Just uses the S2 sculpt. Nothing fancy.
Captain Panaka Star Wars Class: Naboo Attacktix Class: Captain Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 6 (one spot of 7, one spot of 5) Attack: Large Green Missile Power: Attackback: Trooper x2 30% Note: The Queen's main military advisor. Again, nothing fancy for him.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars Class: Jedi Attacktix Class: Warrior Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 12 (one spot of 14, two spots of 11) Attack: Blue Lightsaber Striker Power: Attackback: Jedi x2 46% Note: Young Obi-Wan, obviously. Yet another simple figure.
Nute Gunray Star Wars Class: Droid Army Attacktix Class: Leader Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 6 (one spot of 8, one spot of 5, one spot of 4) Attack: Small Red Missile Power: Rally: Droid Army 38% Note: Uses S1 Nute Gunray sculpt.
Anakin Skywalker Star Wars Class: Jedi Attacktix Class: Specialist Points: 20 Base Size: 4cm Speed: 8 (one spot of 9) Effect: Anakin has a small spinner in his chest which has a two out of three chance of coming up green. If it is green, one of your figures may move +2 tix this turn. Power: Recruit: Anakin Skywalker 46% Note: Designed to make it so that it adds a sense that Anakin is making things go faster, like he does with his podracer. This figure will look like Jake Lloyd.
Boss Nass Star Wars Class: Naboo Attacktix Class: Leader Points: 30 Base Size: 5cm Speed: 6 (one spot of 7, one spot of 5) Attack: Energy Ball Toss (Like Chief Chirpa) Power: Recover: Naboo 53% Note: Nothing really. Ball would like like the Gungan energy ball from the movie.
Droideka Star Wars Class: Droid Army Attacktix Class: Trooper Points: 40 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 6 (two spots of 9, two spots of 5) Attack: Small Red Missile x2 Power: Recover: Droid Army 46% Note: Uses S2 Destoyer Droid sculpt. The significance of being able to move 3 more tix on a few spots is the "ball form" that the Droids can use. The speed wheel is meant to emulate that.
Darth Sidious Star Wars Class: Sith Attacktix Class: Leader Points: 20 Base Size: 5cm Speed: 4 (one spot of 5) Effect: Has a spinner that has a one-in-three chance of being white. If it is, before your first attack, you may attack with one of your Sith, move that Sith again, and attack with that Sith again. Your turn then ends. Power: Rescue: Sith 61% Note: The idea of the spinner effect is mostly based off of making it so Sidious, and therefore the Dark Side, "inspires" someone like Darth Maul to just go around killing anything that moves but rarely does anyone follow that person into battle. Sculpt would look like a hologram.
Starter Set:
Qui-Gon Jinn Star Wars Class: Jedi Attacktix Class: Warrior Points: 30 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 12 (two spots of 13, one spot of 11) Attack: Green Lightsaber Striker Power: Vengeance: Attacker IF Obi-Wan Kenobi OR Anakin Skywalker 84% Note: Same sculpt as the booster version. Qui-Gon's power is based on how Obi-Wan just goes absolutely crazy on Maul after he kills Jinn. It's supposed to simulate that by assuming that eith Obi-Wan or Anakin gets revenge for Qui-Gon.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars Class: Jedi Attacktix Class: Warrior Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 12 (one spot of 14, two spots of 11) Attack: Blue Lightsaber Striker Power: Recover: Qui-Gon 46% Note: Same sculpt as booster version. Power's significence is in how he teams well with Qui-Gon
Darth Maul Star Wars Class: Sith Attacktix Class: Warrior Points: 30 Base Size: 5cm Speed: 10 (one spot of 12, one spot of 9) Attack: Red Double-bladed Lightsaber Power: Rescue: Opponent has Jedi 61% Note: Uses the S2 sculpt. Power is based on him hating the Jedi so much that he can keeps coming back for more.
Power: Rally: Sith 53% Note: Exactly the same figure as is in the boosters except his power is now to heal a Sith, based on how he "repairs" Anakin in Episode 3.
Mega:
ATT Star Wars Class: None Attacktix Class: Mega Points: 80 Base Size: Republic Gunship-style where it has two targets seperate from the sculpt itself. Speed: 4 (two spots of 5) Attack: This mould have two small missile blasters positioned on the front end of the figure. These would be on ball turrets so they could both move independently of each other and the way the ATT is facing but they would have to fire forwards. There would also be a single Grievous style missile launcher at the top of the tank which can aim up, down, and rotate in a complete circle. You are allowed to fire either both small missile launchers or the turret on top but not all three. Power: Recruit: Battle Droid 23% Note: Not much to say. To clear things up, an ATT is the tank tank used by the Droid Army in their attack on Naboo. It is not the one that the droid disembark from. It's the one that Jar Jar messes up destroying.
Final Counts:
Star Wars Class: Jedi: 5 Sith: 5 Droid Army: 5 Naboo: 7
Attacktix Class: Mega: 1 Captains: 2 Specialists: 4 Leaders: 5 Troopers: 5 Warriors: 6
Attacks: Throwers: 1 Prodders: 1 Effects: 4 Strikers: 7 Shooters: 9

Thanks Bluebane.
I've been looking over this thread and that huge post is a bit of an eye sore. So, starting with my upcoming Episode 2 Attacktix, I will be posting in smaller chunks. I'm planning on posting three figures at a time for the boosters and then wrapping up with all the starter set figures, the Mega, and the Final Counts at the end. That should make the line-ups more approachable so rather than having several giant posts to wade through you can just look at three figures at a time and comment on those. It will also keep me interested so I don't burn out by doing 18 figures in one or two sittings.
Again, thanks for the feedback Bluebane. It is much appreciated.

Time to get back to work after letting this sit for a day waiting for comments.
So now, here is the beginning of my Star Wars: Episode 2 series.
Star Wars Episode 2
New Power: Wound: Your opponent's [Insert Figure Name, Star Wars Class, or Attacktix Class] may not attack next turn.
Rare:
Geonosian Soldier Star Wars Class: Separtist Attacktix Class: Trooper Points: 10 Base Size: 4cm Speed: 4 (one spot of 5) Attack: Small Red Missile Power: Attackback: Separtist 15% Note: Just a simple Separtist Troop Builder.
Jedi Padawan Star Wars Class: Jedi Attacktix Class: Warrior Points: 10 Base Size: 4cm Speed: 8 (one spot of 10, one spot of 7) Attack: Blue Lightsaber Striker Power: Charge: Jedi x2 15% Note: Re-release of the Jedi Knight but with a blue lightsaber. I've found charge might be decent for strikers so I made his percentage the standard 15% instead of 23% like my other "rare" figures with the Charge power.
Clone Trooper Star Wars Class: Republic Attacktix Class: Trooper Points: 10 Base Size: 4cm Speed 4 (one spot of 5) Attack: Small Blue Missile Power: Shootback: Republic x2 15% Note: Would use the "classic" clone trooper sculpt but would be painted with at least the S4 style "Muddy Boots" or possibly completely speckled brown.
Tomarrow I will be posting the final three rares consisting of: the Super Battle Droid, Tusken Female, and the Senate Guard.

Day 2 of Attack of the Clones Attacktix is below.
Also, thanks to Ben Kenobi for the comment.
Super Battle Droid Star Wars Class: Separtist Attacktix Class: Trooper Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 4 (two spots of 5) Attack: Small Red Missile Power: Rally: Battle Droid 15% Note: Re-release of S1 sculpt Super Battle Droid but painted to appear "battle damaged". In example, blaster marks, dirt, and maybe "exposed parts" painted onto the figure.
Tusken Female Star Wars Class: Tusken Attacktix Class: Trooper Points: 10 Base Size: 4cm Speed: 4 (one spot of 5) Attack: Small Green Missile Power: Recruit: Tusken 15% Note: Yes, I know that the females didn't have any weapons but the point of this figure is just to add to the Tusken faction's numbers. Gave her the Recruit power to show that more Tuskens would appear, very angry Tuskens I might add, if someone should kill a female.
Senate Guard Star Wars Class: Republic Attacktix Class: Trooper Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 4 (two spots of 5) Attack: Small Blue Missile Power: Attackback: Leader 23% Note: Slightly obscure character. These guys are the dude in the background that where blue, carry blasters, and have what looks like an upside down broom on top their helmets. Power is meant to show how they are the Senate guards, which is full of Senators, who are the elected Leaders of their planet. Make sense? Didn't think so.
Next: The beginning of the Super Rares!

Grievous, ive really enjoyed these concept line ups, and new figures. just as a suggestion. some figures do not have weapons, such as R2-D2 and R2-Q5. If you look on www.joeattacktix.com, then go to the customs section, just have a look at sfx5000's tusken female custom. it has no attack, but it does have a special power, like han and luke in storm trooper outfits. other wise, i love the creativity of these lineups, and wish to see them in the future of attacktix. do u have any intention of turning these ideas into customs?

I know about Effect figures, in fact I have one below (Taun We) and one above in my Episode I series (Neimoidian Technician). Actually, one of the reasons I made my Tusken Female a non-effect figure was BECAUSE of sfx5000's custom. That, and I couldn't come up with a good effect for her. Anyways, Super Rares BEGIN! Super Rares: Anakin Skywalker Star Wars Class: Jedi Attacktix Class: Warrior Points: 30 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 12 (one spot of 13, one spot of 11) Attack: Blue Lightsaber Striker Power: Vengeance: Tusken 77% Note: This would be a new sculpt because of Anakin's different look in Episode 2 compared to Episode 3. This figure's power is obviously based on his hatred of the Tusken Raiders. Poggle the Lesser Star Wars Class: Separtist Attacktix Class: Leader Points: 40 Base Size: 5cm Speed: 8 (two spots of 10, two spots of 7) Attack: Staff Striker Effect: Flight String Power: Recruit: Geonosian x2 46% Note: Leader of the Geonosians, Poggle's sculpt would have a "Boba Fett-style" flight string that would reach a length of 5 tix, giving him a reach of roughly thirteen tix per turn. He would have his wings extended and would rest on a large rock formation when not "flying". Other than that he'd just be a regular striker with the rotating waist and everything. I tested if it might be difficult to strike without a base by just holding a Ki-Adi-Mundi by the legs, picking him up, and striking at my Grand Moff Tarkin figure. Works pretty well and any weakness in striking capability should be made up for in the option to lift the figure for a head shot. Taun We Star Wars Class: Republic Attacktix Class: Specialist Points: 20 Base Size: 4cm Speed: 6 (one spot of 7) Effect: Has a dial like the Medic Droid but only has three notches. Whenever the pointer reaches one, the user of the figure may put a Clone Trooper into play from his or her backups. Power: Recruit: Clone Trooper 23% Note: The Republic version of the Neimoidian Technician from my Episode I set. Taun We would be sitting on one of the hovering chairs from Kamino, simulated by a thick piece of clear plastic beneath the seat, which would rotate beneath her like an office chair in order to get the desired "dial" effect. I want to say that sfx5000 made a figure like this but I can't remember. Tomarrow: Zam Wessel and two of the only characters to appear in every Star Wars movie!
|
|
|
Post by grievous on Aug 5, 2006 14:58:49 GMT -5
The newest update!
Zam Wessel Star Wars Class: Bounty Hunter Attacktix Class: Specialist Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 6 (one spot of 7) Attack: Large Green Missile Power: Vengeance: Any Figure 15% Note: Power is based on how she tried to KILL Padme, not capture her. Otherwise, just another cheap Bounty Hunter like Greedo. I was considering some sort of flinging action, like with a bug, but I thought something more in line with a sniper was better.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars Class: Jedi Attacktix Class: Captain Points: 40 Base Size: 5cm Speed: 14 (one spot of 15, two spots of 13) Attack: Blue Lightsaber Striker Power: Recover: Jedi 61% Note: In my opinion, we need an Obi-Wan that can stand up to Darth Vader, so here he is. He'd be a new sculpt in order to distinguish him from Episode 3. Just an all-around figure that would have an incredibly powerful strike.
C-3P0 Star Wars Class: Republic Attacktix Class: Trooper Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 6 (two spots of 7, one spot of 5) Attack: Small Red Missile Power: Recover: R2-D2 38% Note: This figure is from when C-3PO and a Battle Droid switch heads in the movie. This would be the "Battle Droid Body with C-3P0 Head" combination. Gave him Recover R2 because of how the astromech droid fixed 3P0 after he fell over.
Tomarrow: Battle Droid, Tusken Chieftan, and one Jedi makes her Attacktix debut!

Battle Droid Star Wars Class: Separtist Attacktix Class: Trooper Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 6 (two spots of 7, one spot of 5) Attack: Small Red Missile Power: Attackback: Trooper x2 23% Note: This figure is from when C-3PO and a Battle Droid switch heads in the movie. This would be the "C-3P0 Body with Battle Droid Head" combination. The power is just meant to defer the figure from the average Battle Droid.
Tusken Chieftan Star Wars Class: Tusken Attacktix Class: Captain Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 10 (two spots of 11) Attack: Gaffi Stick Striker Power: Charge: Tusken x3 53% Note: Another new Tusken sculpt, he'd have a one-handed "Jedi-style" grip rather than the "two-handed but only one glued" style of the Tusken Raider. Helps complete the Tusken faction.
Aayla Secura Star Wars Class: Jedi Attacktix Class: Warrior Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 12 (two spots of 13, two spots of 11) Attack: Blue Lightsaber Striker Power: Wound: Separtist 38% Note: Aayla's Attacktix debut. I gave her the new Wound power because I figured she should have an interesting power for her debut. I was considering giving her two sabers like in Battlefront 2 but the movie shows her with a single lightsaber so I went with that.
Tomarrow: The end of the Super Rares come with a bang as two characters that have not been seen since Series 1, return! Also, the "father" of the Clone Army makes his way back onto the battlefield!

Ohh, yeah! I would love an Aayla Secura Attacktix. Grrr Baby, very Grrrr!
I would also love to see a Plo Koon striker. Don't be suprised to see another rehase of Mace Windu, Count Dooku, and YODA in series 6 as well.
How cool would it be to see an Acklay Battle Master!

Thanks for the comment greyelephant. I was planning on putting in Plo Koon but if I would have the faction's in this set wouldn't have been as balanced as they are. Also, you got two of your "predictions" correct, at least as far as MY Series 6 goes. Count Dooku Star Wars Class: Separtist Attacktix Class: Leader Points: 40 Base Size 5cm Speed: 6 (two spots of 7, one spot of 5) Attack: Force Lighting Blast Power: Rescue: Opponent has Leader or Jedi 53% Note: Rescue is based on him running from the scene once Yoda showed up. Entirely new sculpt due to the new Force Lightning attack. Would use a Palpatine missile but it would actually be clearish blue. Jango Fett Star Wars Class: Bounty Hunter Attacktix Class: Warrior Points: 20 Base Size: 4.5cm Speed: 10 (two spots of 11, one spot of 9) Attack: Flamethrower Striker Power: Capture: Leader 38% Note: First non-Specialist Bounty Hunter as well as the first non-Shooter Bounty Hunter. He would work kind of like the Spiderman Striker pictured in the Marvel Attacktix preview photos, where he would have the flame jutting out from his wrist shooter but rather than firing it, you'd just rotate his base. His Capture power is based on him being paid to get Padme. If I had room I would have added a Mace Windu with "Vengeance: Jango Fett" but I needed room for the triumphant return of the figure below. Yoda Star Wars Class: Jedi Attacktix Class: Leader Points: 40 Base Size: 5cm Speed: 6 (two spots of 7, one spot of 5) Attack: Force Blast Power: Vengeance: Attacker 77% Note: Yoda makes his return and this time as a Force Blaster with a new sculpt. I considered just saying to re-release S1 Yoda but I think I'd personally prefer an entirely new figure. He does, however, keep his original Vengeance power completely intact, right down to the percentage. Tomarrow: The Episode II Starter Set and Mega along with the Final Counts of this series.

Sweet! Though I think a double weilding Dooku fight Anakin would have been cooler then the Tusken killer one.
