Nah, the best in my book is:
2x Luke Skywalker (series 3 striker) (60pts)
2x Rebel Trooper (20 pts)
1x 20 point Captain Antilles Series 3 (20pts)
Luke runs up on them and gets killed and back up twice whilst Antilles who has 6 moves runs up behind him (using him as cover from afar). Then rebels split up moving forward and at 45 degrees away from the center. That keeps Mr. Skywalker alive.
Instant Bedlam man...I've been beaten only once with that scenario.
I just tried out this team (which I'll call Team SuperFlyTNT) against my trusty ol' 10 Jedi Knight team (henceforth 10JK), attacking with what I believe was the strategy described above. In the first game (in which Team SuperFlyTNT went first), I had five Jedi Knights left. In the second game (in which 10JK went first), there was only one Jedi Knight left at the end of the game.
Highlights:
GAME 1: The Men In Black
Team SuperFlyTNT advances with two Lukes spread across the playing field, with Captain Antilles behind Luke on the right and the Rebel Troopers split across opposite 45 degree lines up and out. Rebel Troopers each take out 1 Jedi Knight (both black).
The eight remaining Jedi Knights scramble, with two of them posed to rub out a Luke. They do, and Luke on the right's flight takes out both Captain Antilles and a Rebel Trooper (all of which are black). The other Luke's (white) flight takes out the other Rebel Trooper (black), so the remaining Luke goes back to the starting line.
Luke advances on the widely-spaced Jedi Knights and takes out three Jedi Knights (one white - though it doesn't really matter). One of the five remaining Jedi Knights coldly knocks down Luke (white - d'oh!).
MVP: The Jedi Knight who took out Luke, a Rebel Trooper,
and Captain Antilles first. Even if Captain Antilles had been white, he wouldn't have been able to bring his special power to bear.
Lessons learned: Without their special powers working together, Team SuperFlyTNT doesn't fare well against 10JK because they simply don't have the numbers to overcome the 10JK striking power.
GAME 2: Wearing White After Memorial Day
10JK scatters to disperse the figures widely, advancing four Jedi Knights within striking distance of each Luke on their turn. Two Jedi Knights swing their sabers impotently.
Team SuperFlyTNT advances similarly to the way described above - though keeping Captain Antilles in a line with and slightly in front of the Rebel Troopers so that he won't get caught along with a Rebel Trooper in either Luke's flight. Each Luke knocks down two Jedi Knights (one of which is white, but I choose to ignore the special power to make a silly point - just how silly will soon become apparent).
The remaining two Jedi Knights have their revenge on the two Lukes, taking the one Rebel Troopers out, to boot. Both Lukes are white, as is the Rebel Trooper! Thus, the closest Luke knocks down the nearest Jedi Knight (but no others, as the Jedi Knight glances off the hood of another Jedi Knight but does not knock it down). And now, the fallen Jedi Knight is white - and I'm in no mood to forego special powers anymore! One of his compatriots advances from further back and thwacks the advanced Luke down (white), along with Captain Antilles (white) - who brings the defeated Rebel Trooper back from the dead!
The revived Rebel Trooper advances on the closest Jedi Knight, and the Luke on the right takes out the nearest two Jedi Knights (who are out of range of the Luke on the left). Miraculously, the Rebel Trooper's shot bounces off his Jedi Knight target.
Two of the three Jedi Knights advance, leaving the last one within 10 Tix of JK10's starting line. The Jedi Knight on the right knocks down Luke on the right (white) and the Rebel Trooper with the poor shooting luck (black). The one on the left knocks down Luke and the other Rebel Trooper (both black).
It's down to Luke for Team SuperFlyTNT versus 3 Jedi Knights. Because of the way the Jedi Knights are angled, Luke can only take down two of them, leaving himself wide open for the remaining Jedi Knight to strike him down (white - d'oh!).
MVP: The Jedi Knight who withstood the Rebel Trooper's blast. Without him, Team SuperFlyTNT very well could have won.
Lessons learned: The order in which one knocks down Team SuperFlyTNT's figures is rather important. Notably, I should have knocked down Captain Antilles in the first wave of 10JK's attacks. And when their special powers kick in, Team SuperFlyTNT is quite a force to be reckoned with, indeed.
