A bunch of us played tonight & it seems like as we all get better and better, we get more concerned with following the rules to the smallest detail. The big question tonight was "when can you pivot a figure".. so I am asking here. The rule book really doesn't say. Here's what I know (I think)..
1. After a figure executes an attack, it cannot be moved at ALL. No gun/arm lowering & no pivoting.
2. BEFORE an attack, once the figure is done moving, it can be rotated any degree.. as long as it stays in the exact same spot that it stopped moving in.
.. but..
What if it is your move phase and you don't want to "click" a particular figure.. you just want to angle it. Can it be pivoted before the attacks start?
What if a figure is moved (into a group.. or off on its own, etc) and it is not going to attack.. can it be pivoted as well during the move phase?
I am pretty sure that the answer to the second question is "yes".. but I am not so sure about the first question. Feedback? This all came about after 1 guy didn't want to move any of his figures in a given round (they were all heavy gun shooters that did well from long range), but he did want to "angle" them all so that they were better positioned to take a missile hit, etc. Was that legal as long as it was part of his move phase?

Im gathering that by “pivot” you mean to turn or rotate the figure? At any rate, rotating, turning, or pivoting your figure as part of you move phase is perfectly acceptable. During the move phase it is some times necessary to turn figures to put them into defensive formations. At the attack phase it is also at time necessary just to make aiming possible. But after a figure has attacked, it must stand still. This is just how I have been playing… But Im pretty sure Im near 100% correct.

Yeah, by pivot I mean turn/rotate, etc.
So during a move phase, even if a figure doesn't actually move anywhere, it's still ok to rotate the figure (if you desire)? I think that's what you're saying man.. am I right?

I think that's what you're saying man.. am I right? Yep, that's how I play, and that seems to be what Hasbro has said about this when I've asked some clarifying questions. You could have your figure twirl around as much as you want, as long as it stays in one place.

Cool. Thanks for the confirmation guys. That's what we'll use as "law" now too.
