Yeah, I saw that this morning and was surprised at its over positiveness too. Everything but the dolls comment, anyway, and that could've jsut been a joke. I guess after 3 years of piled on rules and FAQ's, even Clixers brains could use a break and just have some good ol' fun!

I'm glad you guys liked it. I commissioned it for today to coincide with the movie release date, ol_Dut did a good job cranking it out under deadline!

Based on my read of the review, I'd say it's quite positive. I can understand how they might not like the relative simplicity of Attacktix (given that RPGs can be quite involved in their rules), but that's what I like best about it. I just don't have time to learn all the relevant RPG rules and play by them. Plus, like everyone else, I derive visceral thrills from palpably launching my opponent's figures across the table!

I've got to chime in. I've given up Heroclix entirely now Attacktix has come out. The thing is NOBODY seems to know exactly all the rules. As soon as you learn them, they change. Also (not wanting to sound thingyy) In the 2 Years I've been playing Heroclix I think I've lost about 5 times, and I've played tons of different opponents. The other day I got destroyed playing Attacktix with my friends 11 year old son (the little bastard). I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's just a breath of fresh air to have a game that's fun, collectable and not too serious. I know there are negative points about Attaktix, but all in all it's the best miniature game I think I've ever played.

Ya it's the only game I ever lose at, except heroscape.

Hehehe...I'm gonna try getting a couple of people in the lab who like RPGs hooked on Attacktix. But only off-hours, so that everyone doesn't see that someone on the cusp of getting his Ph.D. still plays with kids' toys;)

Even better...
The prof who heads our lab is usually late for lab meetings. I could just see us playing a 100 point multiplayer round of Attacktix to see who gets to present in lab meeting.
Of course, since I have all the Attacktix, I get first pick:)

TEXTI went and bought my first starter and booster after reading Ol Dut's article on the realms. I definitely look at Attacktix as a breather from the complications of Clix (though I'd never give them up entirely!) and as an easier way to get my daughter hooked on different games.

Clix is not something to ever give up, but Attacktix does make a nice distraction from it! It's light, it's goofy, and it's relativley inexpensive compared to Heroclix.
Plus, when you only got 15 minutes to spare, Heroclix is not going to be an option!
It'll never be as deep or involving as Heroclix is, but it scores its own points in ways Heroclix can't match. I'm thrilled to be able to collect & play 'em both!

Plus, when you only got 15 minutes to spare, Heroclix is not going to be an option! That is the truth. I remember quite a few nights where I fell asleep when Joe & his friends played a 'quick' game of heroclix. That game can DRAG! I gave up on heroclix after I played with a couple of guys who had flash figures and just kept 'running' away from me. In Attacktix, there is no 'hiding' - you're going to get shot eventually if you do that! You have to be a man and FIGHT.

Hehehe...then you just destroy the terrain;) Or knock it off the table. Then there's no running...except off the table. Which kinda defeats the point.
