Who needs some love? Grievous Bodyguard. Costs 10, Moves 10, good death ability. People complain about his strikes going off center, they either need to harness the force or concentrate a little more-because this little guy rocks. -Radar

Hmmm... I gotta play with them more. Maybe my next team will be an all baddie complete w/grievous and his bodyguards. I'll give 'em another try.

Grievous and his bodyguards are an awesome team! I have two Gen Grievous and then put two bodyguards in front of them. They work very well as bodyguards, and he can still shoot over them.
I personally am a big fan of the grievous bodyguards. The key to getting them to strike properly is to hold the end of their striker with your right pointer finger and then put your right thumb on their back (between the shoulders), while holding the base with your left hand. All four of mine have some pretty good pop.

Dang it, now I'm gonna have to retract my Bodyguard-hating ways. With your technique, I can now get three figures of various sizes down (as long as there aren't any 40-point figures in front). I'm still not a Droid Army fan, but I can respect the Bodyguards a lot more now. I think the Droid Army will also be a lot more fun when Series 2 comes out.

The bodyguards are a steal at ten points if you use them as guards, not as assault strikers. Their high movement lets them fan out and take hits, offer a harassing threat to advancing pieces and send Grievous the occasional freebie. I use the shoulder twist grip on them, and I do ok.

I for one need the bodyguard guide, because I can't strike with em worth a darn. My son is pretty good at it though, so I have seen they can have pretty good pop if used properly. My clumsy fingers get in the way.
Even still I always said that for 10 points, being a trooper, and the Grievous attack special that they are a great figure for only 10 points to have a few. Have a couple of em along with Grievous and the two striker Vaders makes for a REALLY solid team.
Now I just need to master that strike.
The droid army is going to get a boost in Series two, and could end up being one of my favorite teams to use.

Yes a guard guide would be great, I am in the same boat with lonestar. I = clumsy with it. I for one, love reading those guides Joe. They help me out a lot and make feel stupid, but they make me better ;D.

I'm starting to see a light line forming in the narrower purple plastic cylinder right by its right hand because of the way I'm striking with him (which is my best attempt to follow your lead). I'm worried that one of these days soon, the right half of its staff is going to go flying into a hapless figure and leave me rather sad.

I guess I have to go with my modified Agen Kolar/Qui-Gon figure. As Agen Kolar he was pretty much just cannon fodder in our house, but as the new, improved QG, he really kicks butt! (I know this is not really an underdog, but I was feeling left out as I don't have any "poopy" figures that are really awesome).

Looks like I've started a bodyguard loving revolution?! In any case we will see how the new ones turn out. Both the series 2 and the slightly different re-casts of series 1 should be interesting to see. -Radar

yaggleberryfinn, have you found that your technique causes any fatigue in the plastic of the Bodyguard's staff? I haven't had any problems with them yet, but I haven't put them through the "striker olympics" like I did with starter Vader. And even then, I don't think I'm nearly as tough on my strikers as you are! I primarily use my bodyguards as bodyguards to protect Grievous. They'll get an attack in, but not very often. My other strikers usually get the up close work.

And even then, I don't think I'm nearly as tough on my strikers as you are! Hmm...I've not done much with mine, either, and still, the plastic fatigue is there. You probably have a valid point about my extreme use of strikers (loathe as I am to admit such things). Can't say I blame you there. However, I'm really curious to see how a gaggle of Bodyguards will work as an advancing Trooper front for my Starter Kenobi/Starter Vader tagteams. I might have a new favorite 100 point team: Starter Kenobi Starter Vader Grievous Bodyguard x2 Clone Trooper x2 (or Grievous Bodyguard x2, depending on how willing I am to go all-striker)
