20 freakin' points - man, if the Energon Mode OP ever sees the light of day, this guy would be a killer if its special power percentage were anything even around 50%. Yeah, *that's* the line that TF2 shoulda been to tie in with the movie

Nice quad post.
As for the Protoform, very cool, looks like the Titaniums work perfectly for Attacktix. Keep up the good work.

For reference, the Titanium Protoform Prime has metal lower legs, but also a metal torso, so the center of mass isn't unreasonably low (it's at about mid-thigh level).

Hey all, it appears my personal hiatus may at last be over. Today I'm going to go over how I make my custom labels, a couple of extra steps are involved, but I've found that nothing puts the cream on top of a great custom quite like a factory quality label. I'm going to start with the New Goblin figure. TJ Maxx restocked the Spider-Man 3 Tourney Sets, so I was able to pick up another set of extras on the cheap. For this project, I'm going to re-label him to show his "good guy" side. First make sure you peel off the old labels and get the label areas nice and clean. Any residue will show up later. Now open your handy dandy TixTool. Enter the front label info. Play around with the different options, and print a draft copy (or two) to make sure it looks right printed out and fits correctly on the base. When you print the final copy, make sure to use the highest quality setting. I use normal white copy paper. Same with the back. Be creative with the series name, or in this case, number it accurately to look like an additional figure in an existing series. Remember that quality setting, you will probably need to set it again. Let the paper dry in between, flip it around, and you'll get both the front and back label on the same piece of paper. (This is about as Green as I get folks.) Here's the "secret sauce" as it were...I use crystal clear packing tape to create the facing of the label. Wheel off a small section, and then lay it carefully across the label fronts. Make sure to smooth it down tight, this seals the ink and gives it that plasticy sheen. The other ingredient in the secret sauce is permanent double sided tape. Apply this over the back of the labels. DON'T SMOOTH IT DOWN! Gently lay it on there and run a finger nail gently across it, just enough to make sure it stays in place. You need a steady hand to hand cut these, and be sure to keep your grimey paws off the backside where the double sided tape is exposed. The back label is actually a little more important to get perfectly straight, as the front label is of course black on black plastic. Apply the front label, start on one side or the other, and keep the label even as your roll it across. Now you smooth it down good to create the semi permanent bond. You're actually pressing the paper into the tape now and the tape onto the base. Another important tip for the front label...the edge of the paper will show ever so slightly, and of course this gives a fuzzy white edge to your black label. The solution is to carefully go around the edge of the label with a black sharpie after applying it. ...and now the front label is done. For the rear label, make sure to start at the edge with the set number logo. I've always found the back label to be a tad long, which is good...line it up right on the logo side, and then exacto off the extra on the other end creating a perfect fit. And there you have it, the easiest custom I've made all week. I hope this little How To was helpful, especially for those of you just getting into custom work. Additionally, this same method works perfectly for making replacement labels if needed as well. Til next time... PUNCH

Great Tutorial, JP!
Couple of questions:
It seems that most of the labels I've made with Labelmaker come out a bit longer than the "slots" they lay into (so there's over hang). Even when trimming both ends as much as possible without actually cutting into the points number or faction symbol. Yours don't seem to show this and fit into the label slot nicely. Is there a way to resize the label through the TixTool program?
Tip:
A paper cutter or steel ruler and X-Acto blade yield nice straight cuts if one's hand is not very steady when cutting out the labels.

The top left box of the label maker has label sizes selectable via "radio boxes" (the round check box like ones). The default is small, and you can see in jackpunch's screenshot that he has medium selected.... Wait a sec, does new goblin have a medium or a large base?... I was sure I had those label sizes dead on. Ahh poo.... Well, maybe someday attacktix wont be dead, and it wont seem like such a waste of time to further develope tixtool, and issue an update.

Thanks! Ah, I see - Small, Medium, Large, Mega and large Mega. But, for instance, a medium label still seems to print out a bit too large for a medium base slot. I'll have to get out the calipers and measure a factory label and compare it to a Tix tool label. Ah, the mysteries of Tix...keeps life interesting

If memory serves I use the small front label for small and medium bases and the medium for large. I use medium all of the time for the back label.

JAZZ 10 points - Captain - Autobot - 6 Speed - Small Base Anyone that has seen these toys knows how close they are already to being a 'Tix figure. As always in that case, it's important to get the details right...the right weapon, the right base size and speed, ratio, etc. As I said in the tutorial, a proper label makes the world of difference. Here's a close-up of the Jazz label. And the back view. I really like this figures design from the movie, so it's really nice having a "playable" version of the figure. Jazz has built in articulation in the waist, neck, and arms, making him again, just perfect for conversion. Enjoy!

Very nice. Quick question since I am new to customs, what line of transformers is that Jazz from? I haven't seen those in stores near me and obviously if I start google-ing for them I will be sifting through tons of results. Also I have found the TMNT mini mutants to be a little too top heavy (speaking specifically about the triceraton, haven't decided how I am going to use raphael just yet). Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance! Welcome to the forum! The Jazz comes from a line called Titaniums. They're all roughly that size. As for the customizing tips, I'm just a rookie also, so I'll leave that part to the masters.
