Fantastic, simply Fantastic!!! You got everything down!!! From the customizing of the BAT, to the powers, to the picture taking, etc., I'm loving it!!! Please keep on making more as you say and if you don't mind, I'd like to do the same exact thing for the Ninja BAT I have, I just couldn't figure something out for it like you did!

Very nice! The Skyblast missile goes very well with the figure. +1 Karma!

Thank you all for the great feedback...and please, attacktixman, take the idea and run with it. Prodders in general may be the best add on strikers you can get your hands on. Ok, so for round two...another vile Cobra... Zartan 20 points - Specialist - Cobra - 6 Speed - Medium Base Capture: If White > Gain control of the attacking figure if you have another Cobra figure in play. The standard 3/4 view of the figure. Normally I would replace the existing weapon...but why get rid of such a cool looking piece when the black won't match up right anyway, so instead... ...I modded a Chewie blaster to get a more hand-held crossbow look by tweaking the ends and removing the shoulder brace. Note the unique grey missile that came with one of the other sets...fits almost perfect, and looks more like an arrowhead. TixTool to the rescue again for the labels. For some reason (probably because I'm using my older camera) there is some added glare, but trust me when I say that the label looks prestine. Also of note, most of the bases on these figs have that rocky footing that just so happens to have a gap at the front that fits perfectly around the 'Tix window...odd, isn't it? Wrapping up with the reverse view...note the rear sticker...yes, I do have a whole series planned out at this point. It may or may not be done this year, but I have it planned out, and I have the figures for it. A final note on articulation, both shoulders still move fine, as do the waist and head. So, that's two...back to work on the second Ninja B.A.T....

Oh man, I'm really loving it!!! I mean my heart actually started pumping! Once again, the thoroughness and quality of your work is to be commended. I sure would like to get our series of Joes together someday, Tixcon '08 would be perfect. Who knows, maybe it will still happen. Yo Joe!

Hmmm...I'll have to see that Heavy BAT in action. Ok, here's the first mod I actually started, so it was somewhat easier to finish now that I have a little more of a process down. Our first look at one of the Joes... Kamakura 30 points - Warrior - Sigma 6 - 10 Speed - Medium Base Attackback: If White > Free move and attack for your Snake-Eyes figure. Imagine my surprise when I realized Kamakura had an attack similar to the traditional 'Tix "lightsaber" attack. So...to really make it work, I glued the striking mechanism in place, then constructed a more sturdy weapon from bits of Gambits staff. Voila. The strike is not nearly as powerful as some Star Wars strikers, but I did test it on Thing, and if it can take him down, it can take on anyone. I'm not overly concerned with his power level, after all, the Joes are about 95% launcher-centric, so keeping the striker power level in check is a good thing. I struggled a bit with what logo to go with. The traditional G.I. Joe logos are all very wide, spelling out the name with some combination of Stars and Stripes. In the end, I really liked how the Sigma 6 green contrasted with the Cobra red, and after all, it's the logo the figs themselves have on them in places. The circular-ish logo has just the right amount of detail I think. Since he was the first fig I worked on, he gets the lucky number 7 slot in the series. I can see a few areas where I would do things different, so maybe I'll start from scratch on this fig when the inital project is over, but for now, I'm putting him on the shelf as DONE. Articulation: Shoulder movement allows the staff to be moved up or down. Head turns, obviously so does the waist. Three on the shelf, and Ninja B.A.T. 2 almost there...

Looks really cool, but shouldn't Kamakura have at least 12 speed? I guess 10 is fine though, but when you make Snake-Eyes it'd be cool if he had 14 speed.

I think you could take one of the earlier Tix bases that don't have the speed on the wheel and put a little label with 12 or 14 next to the window opening...Megazarak.
Another great job, JP! Would you please describe in more detail how you made Kamakura strike harder? Did you pull him apart in order to glue the striker mechanism in place? I almost gave up on him because his factory strike is like you say rather weak. You've given me A NEW HOPE.
Love the way you pieced together Gambit's staff, gives it a segmented Bamboo like appearance.

I went back and forth on the speed, but I settled on 10 to match the BAT. I also gave him a narrow special (Snake-Eyes only) so I wouldn't be tempted to just throw him on every joe team.
To get full power, I pulled him apart, poured glue in the bottom cavity, reattached. This, with the feet mounted firmly to the base, gives you a lot more stability, and a full 180 rotation. Also, the staff flexes, which lets you cheat in some extra impact.

Lookin' good, as usual. Seeing all these S6 GI Joe mods makes me yearn even more for the actual thing... the truly funny part is that Hasbro could, to some extent, just do exactly what the customizers here have done. I think it's been easily proven that the scale isn't too far out of line, and a lot of the attacks that come built-in to the figures are easily turned into 'tix attacks. Honestly, it just leaves me scratching may head as to why they even made a 2.5" S6 line to begin with, rather than just pulling out the stops and making them into Attacktix. Oh, and I have to give the big thumbs-up to using the S6 logo for the Joes. Although it probably wasn't intentional, a side benefit is that if you ever do any "classic" Joes, you can easily split them into factions by the different incarnations. For that "classic" Joe symbol, by the way, you might try doing the stripes that follow the logo rather than the logo itself. Something like this, which also incorporates stars into it for flavor- even shrunk, there's no details that would really get lost. I think I've also seen a vertical version of the stars/stripes on a vehicle, but I'd have to hunt that sucker down to confirm. It also occurs to me that many Joe vehicles, in addition to actual GI Joe and American flag insignia, also carry the "white star" that usually characterizes the US military (especially the US Army).

Just enough time tonight for the late night update...I'll recount my methodology a little more in depth this time around... Cobra Commander 30 points - Leader - Cobra - 4 Speed - Large Base Recover: If White > Stand up Cobra Commander if you have another Cobra or Trooper figure in play. I love the cape on this guy, but man does he have a wide stance. I started with the Cobra Commander figure from the Mission: B.A.T. Attack set. First I removed the flames from his hand and the snake staff, then nixed the left hand altogether. I replaced it with a hand from a different spare fig painted to match the armor color. I then needed to come up with the gun...from the package art, I knew I wanted a wrist mounted weapon of some kind...I happpend to have a bunch of extra Greedos about, and the shape was right, so I went with that. I painted it gold to match the color of the staff and some of the other details on his armor. I also snatched the missile from one of the other figures in the set, near the size of a standard missile, but translucent. Then I just needed to find a base the right size with the right speed (and roughly the right ratio of white to black on the tix wheel to match my power idea). I use super glue gel to put it altogether. I then use the TixTool to create the front and rear labels. TixTool will also create bottom labels for powers, but I'm working on my own template for that so I can use symbols and bold/italics. And that's about it. The Commanders head swivels, and his shooting arm shoulder rotates, which lets you change the angle a bit when shooting.
