We all remember my earlier custom, Turbo, right? Well, this is Turbo as Age of Apocalypse Punisher.
For those that don't know the story of Marvel's Age of Apocalypse, it's simple - Xavier's son, Legion, travels back in time planning to kill Magneto so that Xavier's dream of human/mutant peace will come true. Unfortunately, Xavier saves Magneto and dies in his place, leading Magneto to take up his friend's dream in his honor and Apocalypse to launch his war on humanity some ten years early. The only survivor from the normal universe is Bishop, being a temporal anomoly himself protecting him, who after regaining his memory twenty years after Xavier's death convinces Magneto and several others to help him travel back in time to save the Professor.
The Punisher and a number of other non-mutant heroes weren't mentioned, whether they still lived in the AOA, had been killed by 'Pocky's forces, or had ever even existed were left open for debate.
In the Age of Apocalypse, instead of the easy-going if short-tempered tactician of the X-Men, which with no Xavier to find him when his powers emerged he never joined in the AOA, Turbo is a vicious beast of a person, merciless and dark, who doesn't care about saving the world or being a hero, instead his reason for living is now to punish Apocalypse and Prelate Chamber for the death of the woman he loved, the woman that in the AXU would have kept him from falling into the darkness that has now claimed him.
Gameplay wise, this is reflected by Sacrifice (X-Men) on AoA Punisher taking the place of Turbo's Recover (Any).
Head: M17 Gambit, hair painted Flat Black
Body: SVT Vader, armor, gloves and boots painted Neutral Grey, chest skull painted with Light Grey, sword painted with Flat Black for the hilt and a mix of Flat Black and Gold for the blade.
Base: And here's where I feel the most pride; upper base was from a TF15 Scorponok, I believe the Tix Wheel is as well, and the lower base is from an SVT Megatron for the Sacrifice (though it still says Sacrifice (Decepticons). That's right, it's my first custom base.
(Also, if anyone's still wondering, the modification to Pyro's base was that I took the X-Men symbol off a Beast I'm customizing and stuck it over Pyro's Brotherhood faction symbol.)
EDIT: I just realized that while regular Turbo had been the first custom I started work on, Steamhook was actually the first one I posted. I changed that mistake in this post and now I'm going to go eat some grass with the rest of the herd, cause boy do I feel sheepish....
