He looks cool. Nice touch with the chrome base. (Don't forget, Malform has a cool label and effect maker.)
Does he actually strike? Regardless, ...really cool custom!

I think that this is my favorite. custom. period. If both of his hands are glued to the saber, he'd have a wickedly strong strike. I think I like the Empire version of the effect better for gameplay, though I imagine one could classify Reborn as Sith, if it were so desired.

When I saw the title of this thread I just assumed your wife just had a baby.... Shows how much I know about the star wars video game universe My younger brother thought the exact same thing except he thought the post was by greyelephant who mentioned his wife was pregnant in a post a bit back. He was like, "They had their baby!" and I was like, "No, you idiot, who in their right mind would name their child Kyle Katarn? Someone made a Kyle Katarn custom from the Jedi Knight series," and then we all had a good laugh. Although the whole "Who'd name their kid that?" is sort of hypocritical since I'm seriously considering naming any male son I happen to have Luke if I get the chance. Just think of the jokes you could pull with that one, something along the lines of... Luke just moved out of the house and it's one o' clock in the morning when the phone rings. Shuffling to the phone with no idea who it could be, he picks it up and asks who the heck is calling at this time of night (in much more animated language of course ). All he here's on the other end is breathing until, "Luke, I am your father!" at which point Luke hangs up the phone and I fall on the floor laughing. Greatest idea ever! ;D

LMAO...No, no MORE kids for me, Osama Bin Hannah is enough for any family. Or I might adopt at some point as my wife's body JUST got back to hottie status and it would be a shame to make her work it off again...PLUS, the less of my genes that exist in the world, the safer a place it will be.
As for the illustrious Mr. Katarn, YES, he really does swing. I have the label on the front now (had to wait to dry completely). The "Effect" on the back is a little smudged, as you may have noticed, but this was planned - I wanted it to look a little battle-worn rather than like a sticker. I drilled out the abdomenal cavity with a hot fine-tip soldering iron (yuck smell) and gently, GENTLY epoxied in a jedi knight spring assembly. Then I removed the torso-peg and gently, GENTLY glued the torso to the upper half of the spring assembly while reasembling the arms and head.
The swing is actually a little bit weaker than I had hoped due to the ever-so-slight misalignment of the top and bottom halves, as well as the enamel not being dry. After a week of drying in a cool, airy place (the garage) it should swing better.

Wow.. that Kyle looks very very good. And it actually looks just like him. I always liked the Kyle character, but the computer games really messed up his voice. He sounds utterly ridiculous. Very good custom though. +1 for you.

Awsome! ;D Although I think forty points is too many points for Kyle Katarn. And I noticed that you used an Endor Scout stomach, not a Rebel Trooper.

It is the legs and torso of an Endor Trooper/Scout/whatever it's called, and the head of the kicking Obi Wan, and the arms and spring of a Jedi Knight. The base is a chrome original, but I repainted again due to the 'scraping' factor, and the rock base is the Obi Wan kicking base, cut down and added/subtracted from. The 'effect' is a trimming from an old gift card. He's almost 100% dry now, and the paint is primo. In fact, it is so good my daughter asked me when I bought a new Attacktix, and she had it in her hand. She told me I was really lucky to get a chrome!! LOL, she's 5 so maybe I shouldn't get jazzed up about it, but the wife agreed that it looks factory.

Now for the points - he has the same % as the kicking obi-wan, but has a Recover power, as well as the 'kill a sith, get a Battle Cry' power, has a sword, and 12 moves. That combined with the 4cm base makes him every bit of 40 points in my view (mainly due to the Recover and the Effect on 1 figure).
