I think the possible problem with the tape is that the sculpted lines on Spidey's chest may cause the paint to spill into and down them, even if they're taped over. I don't think the tape can get down inside the lines to stop the paint flow.

I don't think the tape can't get down inside the lines to stop the paint flow. Alas..you do it in stages. Start the bottom one first and tape him off to the waist. Paint and let dry overnight. Then, move upward to the next line and tape the last line. Rinse/Repeat. That's the best way. As for getting "into" the sculpt lines, you sure can (I did this with ROM) - tape a bigger piece and squeeze the tape into the recessed area, then x-acto (carefully) the area you don't want masked.

Grrr yes these are the details only a digital camera can unlock. After learning the values of grinding and sanding from Indy and hobs, I realized this spidey will never be perfect. I need to sand his chest smooth because his webbing makes sharpies, paint and felt tips bleed. I am certain I will see more of this sculpt for a second attempt. And toss this one on eBay CHEAP BLUE MASKING TAPE....EET EEZ THE KEY! My brother in 'Tix, you need to use masking tape or it will almost certainly look like yuckiness. Take the blue masking tape, cut it with an exacto into strips, make the form and VOILA!, perfecto-mundo. <Reverend Jesse Jackazz-speak> Why choose to freehand, when we are the masters of our domain, yes, WE with the opposable thumbs may deign to use tools! (use the tape man....use the tape!) ;D Yeah YB is right here, I tried tape, and the markers (even the lightest of strokes) still seep into the webbing and bleed. Ain't no thing. I have a dremel and some time in the future to make a smooth Spidey.

Any ideas on what I can turn a Striker Ghost Rider into? The leather jacket is so simple, and I can probably smooth away the chains and add a non flaming head. Gotta be something out there. Marvel hopefully. I thought of something while looking at my own Ghost Rider... What about Blade? Replace the arm with the chain with an arm with some kind of sword and swap the head with some other head, paint to match and you're done.

Iceman V1 was sold at TixCon (to Radar) Here is Iceman V2. Grievous, I hope you like this one, I did a reverse paint job... "ice" blue paint, with a white dry-brush. I will be auctioning this off, along with a TF Attacktix sticker, to get some more money to turn the ads off. I will also add the Paypal button Enjoy

Yes, I like this one much more. I think I can now put my problem with the last one on him looking to much like Snowman than Iceman due to the original being more white than blue. It'd probably be best if he was made out of translucent blue-ish plastic but that would require an entire new molding which I think is out of the question for even the great Manzo. Great job and a Karma +1!
