Photoshop and a mouse on top of the Mystique production photo (which had really nice hair too, I wonder why they changed that?) So it is essentially a digital sketch. I like to do this sort of thing to plan them out first before cutting and putting paint down.

You forgot the Transitions Lensed glasses on your model, ID! ;D As a Jedi I'm going with my contacts, a saber duel could get really nasty if I were to lose my glasses

Hi, okay I've tried this and it was probably my only one true mod attempt failure. I took a gunship completely apart, examined the spring/release mechanism and decided it just wouldn't be worth the effort; since I had made my own custom double firing Republic Gunship anyway.
All hope is not lost, however, I've recently figured out a way to modify missles themselves that makes them fire more forcefully. It worked very well on my GI Joe Destro custom since I was bound & determined to use the launcher that came with the figure because it was at first too weak.
I'll try it on a Gunship missile and see if it works and let you know. Fair warning, opponet's will probably cry foul when they see the modified missile.

If it works, go ahead and start your own custom thread, preferably with video about how darn powerful this missile is

Being a striker, do you ever randomly feel the urge to break out into "The Twist"?
(Sorry, I just couldn't resist...)

Are you actually going to make them? That would be amazing if you could the figures you create in photo shop. It wouldn't be that hard to paint them. I'd wonder were you'd get a hat that size though ;D I bet lego would have one.

I've carved the obi into my face, I'm going to keep an eye out for a mini flat cap, but will most likely sculpt it either from some stuff I have or some material Superfly is introducing me to. The ones of my wife will be more tricky because Mystique ended up with that odd straight hair. We could probably do the same thing as with the hat, I'll just have to see how that turns out first before carving up mystiques.

Go out and buy a Polly Pocket (they're like 3-4$) that has the hair you want. As for the flatcap, I looked in my daughter's room for a polly-sized one, but no dice. You could fashion one from a severed top of a Scout Trooper helmet if you like - I think that would do admirably well.

Just replying to a question about gunship missile fire being weak on first page which was quite some time ago. I examined the Gunship again and there just isn't enough compression space to push the missile back any further (unless you start carefully dremeling)! The technique I used for Destro's missile involves adding material to the missile shaft (not removing) thus compressing the spring more.
Yes, just got a decent digital camera and learning how not to get blurry shots, finally took a decent picture of my Blade "custom", I can email that to anyone who'd like. In the mean time, I have to learn how to upload pics to this site and start a custom's thread.
