I do agree. The missle is VERY weak.

Hi Has anybody tweaked around with the Republic Gunship (either version) to swap/tweak the spring or other mechanisms so that it has a decently powerful shot? That had always been my biggest gripe about that mega is that the missile comes out so slow you have to be right on top of a figure in order to do damage. I've done some repaints of the first one because the mauve paint job did nothing for me: two other views of it: Thanks.

The paint job is inspiring. It makes me want to give my Imperial color scheme idea a try... What brands of paint did you use?

I use Testors enamel and sharpies for custom stuff. It goes on nice and even and dries fairly smooth which is nice. I have a custom Vader coming soon keep an eye out for it

Awesome to see someone making the incredibly cool "White Vader" into a custom. I've considered it but didn't want to sacrifice one of my few Vaders. Hope it turns out well!

I was going to paint my Vader white, too... but I knew nothing of this Infinities... mine was going to become MOON KNIGHT I'll wait and see what yours looks like White before I do mine

Yes I.D., I have replaced a spring. You need to REALLY rip the thing apart to do it, and it ends up taking a lot of time to repair the damage. you need to pull the nearly impossible to get to screws out of the "claw", then pry apart the 2 halves of the ship. If you're VERY lucky you end up only marginally stretching the plastic and leaving stress marks in it, just behind the thingypit area. Then comes the 'firing mechanism', which requires you to remove another entire assembly (which is VERY hard to put back together). Then you go to a local spring turner or hardware store, and get the right diameter and length (a little longer gives more OOMPH, too long makes the bullet not fit in due to coiling) in a stronger, thicker material. The critical measurement is the COILED INNER DIAMETER. This is KEY, as the thickness of the spring wire material will change the I.D. measurement.
Good luck, I ended up melting mine with a propane torch in disgust.

That's it? I was expecting something a bit less, you know, cute.
I'm guessing this was supposed to be an April Fool's joke or did I miss something in your first post? ;D
Still, nice paint job on the Vader. I probably would have colored over the buttons on his chest since he doesn't seem to have them in the reference photo you used but other than that it is a very good job. +1 Karma for you!

Aww, I thought it would be an Attacktix custom. But hey, it's still pretty cool.

ok, yeah, the BK toy was to test out the paint on I actually did paint his panel and tried some different colours there for his buttons. You cannot tell in the jpeg, but they are a bright blue in the comic. For those who aren't familiar with the Star Wars Infinities comic it is kind of like Marvel's What If? Series for the Star Wars original trilogy. Each movie had a four issue series with one major event changing. They are fun. In Return of the Jedi the thing that changed was when jabba hit 3PO he feel down and was damaged so Leia and Jabba couldn't negotiate and Leia ends up blowing up the palace and Boba gets away with Han. The White Vader is Anakin redeemed by the combined efforts of Luke and Leia near the end.

Thanks for explaining, I was wondering that...
*Blinks* Did Anakin build a new lightsaber with his old blue color to replace the red one he used as Vader or (and this is going off the fact that according to Last Command the Emperor had Luke's hand and the lightsaber that had been lost on Cloud City retrieved) did he reclaim his old lightsaber?
Or am I wondering about something that was never explained?
