Of course, if I went ahead and made this 25 points, it'd effectively be 30 unless I made a second odd-cost figure. (Tempted to make a 5 point figure good only for blocking lines of fire.) ---Dave

The black stuff around the waist is marker. I used an archival marker to black up the parts that slide against each other, so there won't be a light colored seam on the black belt area when paint rubs. ---Dave

That looks really cool, as usual. The 5-point increment thing would actually cure a lot of the trouble in pointing custom figures, I think. I know there's been more than once that I've sat there going back and forth on what something is worth. Personally, I think it would be pretty cool to see some Go-Bots utilize 5-point increments, especially ones that tend to go together (aren't Dumper and Pumper brothers or something?). It would solve a lot of problems when you get to the 'support piece' figures... Methinks it would have done a lot for the support figures we actually received from Hasbro, too. It takes all the worry out of what to do with characters who don't attack (C-3PO) if you an just give them no attack, a high Recover or other ability, then point them at 5, 10, 15 points to use as 'shields.' Then again, I'd hate to be the guy who had his attackers killed off and was left with three 'shields'. Technically you're still in the game, but why should you care? I guess there's a downside to everything.

A shield could also have a special power that might bring someone else in, or murder-suicide with the one who takes them out so you might end in a tie.

True. I think pretty much any high percentage SP would more than make up for blowing 15 points on a guy who doesn't attack and is only good for taking hits and/or possibly a really cool effect. I just used Recover as an example (figured it was appropriate for 3PO). Vengeance, Recruit, Rescue... heck, I'd happily play a 'shield' with the well-intentioned but often-useless Jam if he had a really good chance of activating it. My head is abuzz with ideas now...

I never had the missiles to the actual toy (which was part of a cheapo bin bought on eBay), I only know they exist because of tfu.info's pics. Most of the silver is a Krylon metal leaf pen, but regular silver paint used to get into some of the nooks and crannies. The missiles are all silver except for the thinnest part, but even with nailpolish top coat there's some scraping. Ah well. ---Dave

Quick note, my current project isn't an Attacktix, but if you wanna check it out, the in progress stuff (and final work when I finish it) can be found here. ---Dave

I really like this guy, he has very nice and sharp colors, much better then the actual bot. The silver looks exceptionally nice. Also looking forward to seeing your other product when it's finalized.

Tannenbomb is done now. Also, I did most of the silver on Blaster with a Krylon silver leaf pen.

I've started a new Attacktix, using a PVC figure to work from. Here's two hints for now:
1) It's a classic children's character. 2) The character is being built onto the missile, with the launcher disguised as scenery.

O Tannenbomb, O Tannenbomb...inspired name choice As for the classic kid's character - well, I've no clue, but I'm sure I'll be in awe once again when you show us your idea come to plastic.

Well, the guy (yes, male) is well-suited to being a projectile, especially with a spring positioned at his bottom....
---Dave, will probably post a WIP tonight, as most of the putty has hardened.

So, I saw this Tigger figure at the Dollar General while looking around for Series 2 TF Attacktix (unsuccessfully), and realized I needed to graft it onto a missile. This is the result. Apoxie Sculpt is a lot easier to work with if I don't need to make inorganic sharp angles and stuff, and can just let it be blobby and organic. And since it's stronger than Apoxie Clay, it was a better idea for the tail. And I'm also running low on the Clay, so I glopped piles of Sculpt on for the base. ---Dave
