OH yeah! Now I completely remember. I knew someone did something like that... It just sounded so familiar. As I recall, Her waist was awfully thin for the spring too wasnt it? How has she held up over time phoenix?

Pretty much just a straight paint mapping. I didn't try to make all the stickers fit, though. ---Dave

For those new to the game, the color scheme now applied to Nemesis names (Nemesis Prime, Nemesis Breaker) started off with Black Convoy in Car Robots, which was named Scourge in the Robots in Disguise dub. So, rather than do the obvious CryoScourge repaint, I went for a RiD Scourge inspired paint job. Base figure needed WD40 anyway, and the paint job doesn't seem to have worsened it. ---Dave

I filled in the left forearm with putty so that the spoiler would be complete, otherwise this is just a repaint, using the color scheme of the real jet truck Shockwave, on which Rodimus's vehicle mode is based. ---Dave

The inevitable recolor of Battle Ravage. As a toy, a slightly smarter variant that could lead Battle Ravages into a fight. In the cartoon, just a factional color mod. No physical alteration, and I did end up just painting the string, it didn't affect flexibility. ---Dave

This one is gonna take some explaining. Over at the AllSpark, one of the month's art contests is to depict a Transformer dressed up for Halloween as a TF from a different era. The claw on Attacktix Landmine already reminded me of the claw weapon on Longrack, a giraffe TF from Beast Wars Neo (a Japanese line), so I decided to go for it. I got a bag of cheapo "Jungle Animals" for 88 cents at Wal-Mart and chopped up the giraffe, gluing bits to a spare Landmine. As for the paint job, I deliberately went for a mix of Longrack's giraffe colors (and spice red) and the proper colors for Landmine (which got a bit mixed up on the Attacktix version), to evoke the idea of playing dress-up. I tried painting the shaft of the jabber, but it kept scraping, so I cleaned the paint back off...better purple than mangled. ---Dave

Hee...I think this is my favorite one yet! What a marvelous mixture of TF and common toys to create something approaching sublimity!

Just a quick note. The physical machine that hosts my images will be moving over the last weekend of October. It may take a few days for DNS issues to get straightened out after that, so you're likely to be seeing a lot of red-X's (or question mark boxes, or whatever your browser does) for a little bit.
Now, back to working on my latest kitbash...

Big Daddy is part of the Micromaster Hot Rod Patrol, a 50s muscle car with tailfins. I modified a spare Excellion (removed antennae and spoiler, shifted front windshield to chest, added fins) and painted it in a scheme inspired by but not exactly like that of Big Daddy. Consider it a Cybertron Big Daddy. ---Dave

|sf>Actually, just by the subject line alone, I knew it was going to be another one of your AllSpark entries. I also own the BW Neo Longrack and although I don't have him currently in front of me, the custom still rocks, since it looks really close to it. Furthermore, you know that this is one that Hasbro will probably never make a real Attacktix for. (They haven't even brought over the mold for the original toy.) The red of the paint and the different-colored shaft reminds me of one of those red "claw grabbing" mechanisms from the 1980s. The contrast also makes the coloring stand out.

Yes and no...Hasbro did sell Longrack on its webpage a while back. They haven't issued the mold in US packaging, but they have brought the mold over, more or less. ---Dave, notes the downtime has been pushed back to Monday morning.

Found a use for the launcher I took off the sword-swinging Vector Prime I did. Also used a disc of sheet plastic to cover over the chest dish so I could do Upgrade's eye/face on VP's chest. For any who don't know what I'm talking about, Upgrade is one of the alien forms of Ben10, who can merge with machinery and improve it. I can almost hear Vector Prime indignantly saying, "Young man, what ARE you doing?" ---Dave

That Vector Prime Upgraded is amazing! The only fault I can find is that Upgraded things tend to have fewer green lines than that, but that's a really great mod. nonetheless.
