Wow...very nice sculpting job. Is the base figure a Skyblast vehicle mode?

Yep. Lopped off the wings and carved away most of the capture claws to mesh with the thrust pillar, built up the front end with Apoxie Clay. Leaving the special power as Transform (Fitor), so I suppose I'll need to make a robot mode at some point. But I might want to un-lopside the Renegade/Guardian balance a bit first.

The arms ended up being a little askew (port side arm sticks out further in back than starboard side), annoyingly, but not something I want to risk serious breakage to try to redo. ---Dave

Almost done painting the vehicle mode for Fitor, but I took a break to put together a head for a future robot mode, totally scratchbuilt from styrene rods and sheet. And boy are my arms sore. ---Dave

Grabbed a $5 starter at Dollar General so I'd have extras to sacrifice. Muahaha! ---Dave

Removing the head of a Starter 4 Chewbacca without simply slicing it apart is HARD.
---Dave
Edit: ...because it's not like most Attacktix heads, the part I was trying to pull out is part of the mold for the torso, with the head being on a ball stalk. D'oh.

Fitor looks gorgeous. The shine that I normally whine about really works with him. I love the "faux translucency" on the canopy, and it took a little while to realize that the wings just had the lines painted on, rather than carved in. Just beautiful work all around. Chewbacca, eh? This could be interesting...

Yeah, I debated lacquering Fitor, but in the end decided the original toy was too shiny not to. D'oh, forgot to include a comparison pic, I'll do that later.

Yeah, I remember Fitor being an awfully shiny toy - thanks for the reminder on its name And that head...yow. I can only imagine how sore both your arm and fingers must be. I'll be quite intrigued to see what you make of Chewie's head. Though as I reread that, it sounds a bit...wrong.

Well, Chewie's head has to come off so that Fitor's head may go on. ---Dave

Haven't decided if I want to go toy-accurate and merge the head onto the torso, or if I want to leave it just pegged on so the head can turn. ---Dave

There are far more Gobots than I'm going to make. If you go to www.tfu.info, they have a Gobot section, I've been using it on the ones where I don't have the toy. ---Dave

You can also see an awesome Go-Bots toy resource HEREIf you click on the "GoBots" tab in the table (the top left corner), then "GoBots North America" you can find a handy page that lists all the regular GoBots by name, Machne Robo number, and has pictures of robot and vehicle modes of nearly every single one, AND picture galleries so that you can figure out what GoBots you may have just by looking for it. Super Toy Archive is just a great site overall, but the GoBots page is top-notch. I've spent many hours in that section.
