As MM mentioned in another thread, we recently bought some old (and CHEAP! ;D) boosters and starters from a long discontinued card game called OverPower. The game seems cool so far, and it's pretty easy to learn. I'm not sure how it would compare to the current "VS" card game, but it's looks like it's got the same idea. There were Marvel and DC sets, as well as a limited Image Comics set, and each were compatible with the others. I'm liking it so far, and the best part: Since it's discontinued, I don't have to chase after any new releases! ;D Check it out here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OverPowerSo, anyone else ever played this game?

I really enjoyed learning how to play Overpower. Like Defender said, it isn't really that hard to learn how to play, and once you get the hang of it, its not bad at all. It's actually very addicting, and some of the teams are very "kick-butt" if you use them right.

OMG yes...I have probably 10 binders of OP cards sitting next to my desk...very near to complete sets of about everything. If I had to guess, I'm only missing maybe 10 - 15 cards total. We played it a ton when it first came out (like what, 13 years ago...wow). Every once in a blue moon I still bust them out. We had a lot of house rules (we didn't use venture, just straight up combat)...very cutthroat. I probably have tons of extras too...if you ever wanted to trade some tix for op, let me know.
