Midnight Majick and I are continuing on our journey of Marvel movies that we missed out on. We watched Hulk last night, and I was very impressed. It was one of those movies that got such bad reviews that I just forgot about wanting to see it. I heard about how bad the acting was, how it took too long to actually reveal the Hulk, etc. I thought it was a great stand-alone Marvel movie, and even though the Hulk origin was heavily manipulated to fit modern times, it was still a good sci-fi story. The Hulk-dog fight was cool, and the final fight was really good too.
A couple questions I have to anyone who knows more about Marvel the we do:
Was Bruce's father ever portrayed as a Hulk enemy in the past? And if so, did he have those powers? His powers seem to be those of Absorbing Man, but that was an entirely different person.

Ehh.....I felt it was ok. Story line was a bit too weak for me. The fight between him and his dad was weird.
The scene with the dogs was amazing. That was the only part that really made the film for me. Everything else was just......ehh.
I am looking foward to this summer's sequel with Hulk fighting Abomination. That ought to be good!

Yes and no. I believe the current mythology is that Bruce's father was abusive to him and his mom. However, I don't believe he was ever a metahuman...the movie version is much closer to the Absorbing Man, absolutley...

I watched just a bit of the movie myself when it was on television once and thought it was kinda lame. Slow and WAY TOO MANY SPLITSCREENS! I despise when a movie seems to lay on the split-screen button. Tell the story in one window, I can't focus on three constantly moving windows at once! I am looking foward to this summer's sequel with Hulk fighting Abomination. That ought to be good! Yeah, I'm actually moderately interested in at least renting this new one. Did you my Dad had no idea who Abomination was? Even my slightly comic book interested uncle didn't know him.

Although holywood employees attempt to place alot of emphisis on fatherly love, remember that there is only one true father, his lord Jesus Christ.

Hulk was cool since it was not 2 guys switching places as the camera moved away. It was awesome to actually see what it would look like to transform into a giant green creature. I like that it was shown how he became what he was. And that he could have laid dormant if it was not for the accident in the lab. As for a parent experimenting on their young it was a little disturbing and the whole attempt to kill your own child thing. All in all it was good and I actually liked the split screens which made it feel so different from other movies.
