Well....I got bored looked at Gideon's thread, saw the pics he drew, and I decided to give it a shot! Now, I don't have any artistic ability, and probably never will. But I saw no harm in giving it a go. So I looked at my brother's "Ultimate Spider-Man Guide" book, and I decided that I wanted to draw Scarlet Spider-Man. (For those of you who don't know Scarlet Spidey is Peter Parker's clone, Ben Reilly, and he features an all red costume (kinda like Carnage) with a Blue Hoodie that has a spder symbol on it.) You guys tell me what you think.

Haha, since when could you draw, Trey? You always told me you weren't very good. Well, this is indeed pretty cool looking. Nice shading on the hood and legs and such. Hope to see more.
EDIT: and the left hand. That is a good left hand.

He looks like he has the "flying buttt plyers" going. (Ren and Stimpy)
I love the web shooter hand. That looks great.

Fantastic! You consider that not having any artistic ability?

Save for the eyes and the pretzel pelvis, I think it's very good. For a guy with no artistic ability, I'd say you're only a bit of practice away from refining it. If you worked a bit on keeping the proportions in check, you'd be doing better than some of the guys who get paid for their artwork.

Thanks a lot for the compliments, but if you honestly think that I could change even the slightest detail please tell me. I have always enjoyed constructive critisism!
And I hope to make more drawings such as this one, and hopefully they turn out just as good. (It always seems like the first drawing is always the best and the ones to follow SUCK, Like most movie sequels :] )
Again thank you!

Well here's another drawing, but I must say that this was actually the first SpiderMan picture I drew. I just wanted to post the Scarlet Spidey becuase it is literally a million times better, in every sense. Anyways here it is, The webbing looks like crap, his hands don't look attached to the web, his arms don't look proportionate to one another, and he looks tilted. But overall this drawing is extremely simple, and as crappy as it is, it was fun to draw!

Heres the third of hopefully many more drawings. This character is a little more familiar. Well, there you go! DOCTOR OCTUPUS! It's not as good as Scarlet Spidey, but it's not terrible. The hardest parts were the tentacles and his head. (As you may be able to see by all the erased lines.) I think next may be Mysterio, or maybe I will just surprise you guys. (Tell me if you can't see the picture, it's not coming up on my screen.) Edit: Fixed

Um...the Doctor Octopus picture just shows "[image]". The second Spidey is great, though.

Um...the Doctor Octopus picture just shows "[image]". I got onto Bobafetch's account to try to modify it, but the image does not seem to want to work. I've tried saving the image and uploading again, uploading on a different account, hosting it on a different site, all of that, but to no avail. Other images work, even ones larger than it, so it is not the file size. I've tried uploading at different times of the day, still no dice. Can anyone else see if they can get this to work? Lightning-edit: Myspace to the rescue. They seem to be cool with hosting the image. Doc Ock in previous post. Well, let's get things back on track here. Sweet Doc Ock and Symbiote Spider-man, Trey. I dig the sketchy, comic book feel to them. Keep pumping out the drawings to give me something to look at during study hall. Mysterio sounds great for the next one. By the way, how long does it typically take you to draw one of these?

Thank you very much Ben, and it usually takes either from 45 minutes to an hour. The Scarlet Spidey took about 45 minutes, the Symbiote Spidey was like 15 minutes, and Doc Ock took an hour and 5 minutes (If you want a near exact time measurement.)
The only trouble I seemed to have with Ock was his bottom right tentacle, you can kinda see how I never quite fixed it. I just couldn't get it to curve like the others.
And I think I am gonna do Mysterio, but i'm leaning towards Venom right now also....So I may just do both and post them at the same time!

Now, I don't have any artistic ability, and probably never will. LIAR! Those look great! Doc Ock is my favorite. Purely fantastic.

Now, I don't have any artistic ability, and probably never will. LIAR! Those look great! Doc Ock is my favorite. Purely fantastic. Indeed...I wish he'd ship some of that non-talent my way Anyway, I generally like these a lot. Here are my few nitpicks. 1) Scarlet Spidey: His right arm seems ill-proportioned. The tricep is doing anatomically funny things (e.g., it seems to terminate too early and is too "lumpy"), and the bulged forearm doesn't seem to be in keeping with the implied anatomy of the right arm - unless, of course, he's been doing a lot of exercises with his right arm The right hand also looks proportionally withered, though the overall structure of it seems fine. It just looks smaller than it should to me, even if it's angled back. And yes, I agree about the "Flying Butt Pliers" 2) Dark Spidey: I agree that the arms look odd - they look too straight, with no curves in them whatsoever. Perhaps it's just the position of his hands, but the "Flying Butt Pliers" don't seem to be in effect in this picture. 3) Doc Ock: Overall, his face and body look even more rotund and wide than I recall. Also, his right shoe seems to have an odd bump on the top of it. The "straight" part of the bottom-right tentacle looks proportionally smaller than the other three, even accounting for perspective; the right leg's calf also looks a bit withered in comparison to the left. However, your use of perspective on those tentacles is overall quite effective. The left thumb seems to be bend down somewhat too extremely. However, all in all, these are relatively minor critiques that this untrained eye offers to what seems to be a promising young artist. I wouldn't bother commenting if I thought your drawings were deficient or showed no promise; I think this is something you could pursue profitably, at the very least for fun.
