If anyone is interested - the U.S. Post Office now seels "Super Hero Stamps" that are a sheet of 20 stamps featuring 10 Marvel Superheroes and 10 Comics of those Superheros.
Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Elektra, Sub-Mariner, X-Men, Fantasic Four, Hulk, and a few more who I can't remember right now!

Always cool to have some fun postage. I enjoyed the DC ones they did a while back. Is this the ones coming out now:?

Alright, I'm not sexist or anything but... who's bright idea was it to add Spider-Woman? I didn't even know there was a Spider-Woman until recently. Sub-Mariner's inclusion also seems a bit odd to me. They easily could have had, say, Daredevil or Doctor Doom in their places. If they included Spider-Woman just because they wanted another female, they could have used Black Cat instead. Heck, they only have one X-Man on them as well. They could have used Jean Grey or Storm instead of Spider-Woman. It just seems odd to have a semi-obscure character on a stamp.
Other than those two oddities, I think those are ultra cool. If I had spare cash and sent out more mail, I'd consider getting them.

I did feel a little like grievous (though I have know about Spider-Girl since I was 11 or so) that another lady might have been better, such as Sue Storm, the Phoenix, or Storm. For Chris, yes always better when the postage is correct, sorry it was an image from USPS.

Another funny thing, I bet some of these are from the era when comics were 15, 20 & 25 cents! Less than the cost of the stamp!
Nice seeing some of the Kirby, thingyrum & Buscema (I think) artwork...
Never was into stamp collecting, but thinking about these.
Yeah, Spider-Woman seems a bit out of place compared to Storm, etc.
The Sub- Mariner was fairly big in his day, at least I thought so, don't mind him on a stamp. Wouldn't mind seeing him as a 'tix either!

His last name is not Thingyrum for crying out loud! He passed away not long ago and his artwork issued in a new era of X-Men in the seventies. Filters at their best!

Come on, ionic. There are far funner ways to get around filter blocks than just spacing out letters. For example: C()ckrum C0ckrum (ockrum Just playing, of course.

Alright, I'm not sexist or anything but... who's bright idea was it to add Spider-Woman? Marvel's been giving her a HUGE push for the last few years. She's also been a mainstay for quite a while, although she has dropped out of the spotlight every now and then. Just like Elektra is on there due to the recognition that a few bad movies have given her, Spider-Woman garnered notice due to her longevity and current popularity. He's the most well-known of Marvel's first generation of superheroes. Well, he's a superhero most of the time... The point is that he's a very iconic character for the company. Maybe not to you, but to the general public. Doctor Doom isn't a hero. As to Daredevil, it looks like that with only ten heroes, they wanted to visit all the different "families" that they could, and lucky us, we got Elektra. None of those characters has had a 50-issue self-titled comic book, a cartoon series (again, self-titled; X-Men cartoons don't count), and to be quite honest, none of them have been very relevant in the comics for quite some time. Also, again I'd point out that it seems that they only included each "family" once, so two X-Men would have been a bit redundant. I got them (and one of the Iron Man first-day issues) to frame and display on the wall. I went back and picked up the DC set off Ebay to go along with it. By the way, if anyone has an extra $20 to blow on these, there's a package that has a sheet of stamps, a first-day issue, and a thin trade paperback reprinting Fantastic Four #1, Spider-Man #1, and has a Marvel Handbook entry/biography for Willie Lumpkin (the Fantastic Four's mailman). It's a really neat little gift to think about if you're shopping for a Marvel fan... I'll probably be getting another this Christmas.

That item really looks great.
Does anybody have a scan of the Lumpkin entry ?
Thanks in advance,
