I thought I would add this poll into the Marvel Universe thread, although you don't necessarily have to have read Marvel comics.
Reading comic books can border on taboo at times. I've certainly felt in some social situations I could not admit my affinity to read comics. "Graphic Novel" is a more of an acceptable term for collections of comics and a word I can throw out there to sound higher-brow. But it's okay to admit it here on the Attacktix board. ;D
So, if you read comics, what do you read? What are your favorite stories?

I used to read comics all the time. And I have never felt ashamed for doing so. My favorite comics were x-men, uncanny x-men, wolverine and marvel comics presents (which at the time I was buying it had wolverine one one half and ghost rider on the other).
I also liked, but didnt purchase on a regular basis, batman, x-factor, the maxx, x-force (theres too many x's), and dont forget about lobo.. Could probably go on, but thats probably plenty.
I never really got into spider-man comics, I dont know why.. I do however own a couple, one being the introduction to carnage (wish I had the first appearance of venom).

I personally just read whatever compilations my library happens to get, mostly because I have no source of income (darned anti-child labor laws!) so I can't purchase the actual comics.
I'm a big fan of any of the Ultimate books but the library has been having problems with them being damaged and stolen. Personal favorite from those is Ultimate X-Men, which I've read the first 5 compilations of.
I also like Marvel's Runaways series. It's different from regular comic and geared towards my age group. I've read the first 4 paperback compilations of these.
Other than that, I read whatever they get. Sometimes it's good, sometimes not so good.

I am a Big fan of The X-men, X-facter, The New Mutants (canceled Years ago I think) Batman, Spider-man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (before they sold out) The G.I Joe comic was cool, Johnny The Homicidal Maniac was Awesome. If you Didn't see it when it was out you can get the Graphic Novel. Milk and cheese, Pressed Tung, (COOL ART) And I like Pizza Dude 2020( I made this one-myself, its a work in progress) on-line and Goblins on-line.

I read comics all the time...there have definitely been weeks where I've been to the shop every day...I've been reading comics regularly since say '83. I don't have patience to wait for graphic novel collections...though if a story goes direct to gn I'll certainly pick it up.

I read them when I can, but I don't invest much money into comics, so I miss a lot of the story line.

I voted "No, But I Used To" only because for maybe 3-4 months back in my college days (94-95?), I started collecting The Max, and that was only because I started watching The Max on MTV. Otherwise, I have/had absolutely no desire to read comic books or graphic novels whatsoever.

I don't collect any more, but I used to back in high school. It was either 8th or 9th grade when a friend of mine showed me his Punisher comics that we began to read together, probably even during class at times. I've dabbled in art from time to time (mainly cartoons and/or super heroes), so it didn't take too much to get me hooked.
My collection consists of two of those long cardboard boxes designed specifically to hold comic books, and pretty much all of them are bagged with cardboard inserts. I looked through it pretty recently, every once in a while I get the idea of selling them off to fund more Attacktix. But then I rediscover that they're not worth very much and I decide to keep them instead.
My number one favorite was Silver Surfer, of which I have a complete set up to issue 80 or so. Other than that I really liked Ghost Rider, X-Men (especially the Jim Lee version) and X-Factor and have quite a few of each of those. I got into MacFarlane's Spider-Man for a while, which of course then led me to collect Spawn when that came out. I do have a few other first issues of some Image comics, but those don't seem to be worth much either. I don't know how long-lived it was, but I really enjoyed the Deathlok series that began in the early 90s.
