Saw the movie! *possible spoilers

Actually Grievous, I'm not so sure if that was Barricade. First of all, why would Barricade die so easily and why would Blackout shoot at him? I think that Ironhide simply picked up a random vehicle and was trying to protect Sam from Blackout's lasers. That is why the car flies out of Ironhide's hands when a blue laser comes from Blackout and hits it. As to why it transforms, anyone who watched the movie knows that the All Spark has the power to make any type of machinery a Transformer. Why wouldn't this supposed Barricade have transformerd and attacked Ironhide? It is simply because he couldn't, he only transformed after Sam, with the All Spark, passed by.

Another thing, Scorponok also survived, he just lost a piece of his tail to the humans. And I believe Frenzy is also alive somewhere with Barricade, or did he die? Anyways, I read somewhere that in the official novel of the movie, Barricade was killed at the hands of Optimus Prime, which clearly did not happen in the movie. I guess we'll find out in the deleted scenes of the DVD.

Point. However (and I'm operating on a possibly faulty memory), I don't think the AllSpark started sending off "activation" beams until after that scene and none were in sight during or afterwards. Still, your theory does hold weight.

Yeah, Skorponok definitely survives the firefight but I'm unsure if he survives completely. I thought he was basically nothing more than a sort of "extension" to Blackout's will, sorta like an R/C car. If that's the case, then Scorponok is basically brain-dead. However, don't quote me on that because I'm unsure if I heard that right and it was only from online.

Frenzy is probably alive. He got hit in the head and he proved he could survive getting his head cut off. Barricade may be alive along with Scorponok who's body at least remains but possibly his mind as well. Finally, of course, Starscream is still alive.

EDIT: Oh, and am I the only person who absolutely loved the little "Nokia-bot"? I would pay to see a whole movie about that little bugger .

Yeah, I like him too! I'd like to see a toy of him (not the "Real Gear" cell phone thing, but an actual movie-acurate version of it).

I just thought this was a bit interesting (numbers from yahoo)....

Transformers has been out 2 weeks now, and has grossed $224,009,583... Pretty far ahead of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (out 5 weeks) at $127,192,730 And not trailing all that far behind the new pirates movie (out 8 weeks) at $304,454,423..

I think with numbers like that you can bank on there being a sequel.

Michael Bay wants to start TF2 and he wants to start this very day, no clue why right now though, maybe he wants the release date of 08/04/08 or something.

Last I heard, they'd announced a sequel a week before the movie even came out. Either way, I would bank on one being made.

Also, last I heard, Bay wants to add the Dinobots and Tidal Wave to the sequel (supposedly he wanted them in this first one but couldn't get them to fit). How awesome would giant robot dinosaurs in the new TF-style be, especially on the big screen (especially if they make at least one like the Beast Wars Dinobot)? I'm getting goosebumps already! ;D

I dont know...Dinobots would be cool... But the only thing that I would have on my wish list would be the constructicons.

I've also heard of the Dinobots etc. Also, I highly doubt that we'll be seeing the constructicons since Devastator (Brawl) was already in the first movie. Unless Michael Bay decides create "the new and improved Devastator" I'm not sure if we'll see the Constructicons. I don't know why Brawl wasn't just called Brawl in the movie, everything would make much more sense.

Look, if you are going to have the Dinobots you need the Constructicons. It makes for a really awesome battle. SO Michael Bay will have to step up and admit they had a Type-o and we can all move past the Brawl / Devastator controversy for the sake of the movie.

I see 2 ways he constructicons could still make it into a sequel.

1. They just wont combine. Seeing that they strive to keep everyting as real as possible (ie, no "mass shifting" and no "subspace pockets" semi trailers apearing and disapearing out of thin air), I could see them cutting the whole idea of combining....

2. They would be called "decepticons" and only refered to as "constructicon" when combined. I have seen (and own) a set of knock off constructicons that the package refers to as "constructicon" when they are all combined. I dont like devastator being called "constructicon", but if I have to put up with it to see him on the big screen... It would so be worth it.

So I saw the movie a second time tonight and I was thinking; one, it's a great action movie with great special effects and two, on a deeper level, I came up with a question. Ok, so Megatron travels to Earth 1000 years ago planning on taking over the world by using human technology. Ah hello, why would a highly advanced being travel to a planet that's highest technological advancement that's almost equivalent to that of the Ewoks! I mean yeah, we had ships, Greek fire, blah, blah, blah, pyramids, but really nothing here that Megatron could use to take over the universe. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I thought he just came to Earth to find the AllSpark, nothing else.

Yes, I was under the impression that he chased the Allspark across space to Earth, but when the Decepticons saw the potential of human technology, their plans changed to total domination of Earth.
