After a day or two of dremeling, sawing, and krazy gluing my fingers to each other, Thing and the carpet I have completed my THING STRIKER! He is awesome. I wasted a Royal Guard just to learn their striking mechanism stinks. So then I sacrificed a Ravage for a nice, smooth striking mech. It works pretty well, but since Thing's torso is hollow, I had to load it with Hot Glue, and shavings so that the striker guts would "lock" in place. That didn't turn out so well, looks wise (there is a noticeable gap in his waist) Still, he works great! Enjoy the video!

Nice one, Joe! I would buy one, but I am not paying for your time or your glued fingers.

Looks great! Hopefully Hasbro will make a Thing like this that can rival the new Hulk.

Good work Joe! The best thing I've found to make non-strikers into strikers is the Series 3 Luke "Get up and Dance" striker. His mechanism is stiff, and is big enough to fill the voids. I've found that the best way to get those to fit is to get black paint and put it on the top/bottom of the mech, and then do a dry-run assembly while the paint is wet to see the binding points. Then, shave down the mech or body where the paint was noted to get a better fitting. Also, make sure to use the "High-Temp" hot glue and the high-temp gluegun - it's less stringy, and a heck of a lot stronger and less 'flexible' than the regular stuff.

That is very cool. Does he still have a spring loaded shoulder?

Good idea on the paint, I just used a guess and check, along with measuring off the depth of my drill bit... But that seems a bit more precise My glue gun and sticks are the high temp, left over from my 3D Design class. And his arm DOES NOT still have a downward strike. I had to fill void in his chest with shavings and hot glue, which upset that springing mech.

Well there's another way to deal with my overabundance of things... I was originally just going to glue a Imaginext head uppercut Boar on one's base and call it done. This seems far cooler.

Awesome, Joe! Wonderful idea. With his longish arm, he really could have the ability to be a nice striker. I'll PM you my address so that you can send it to me. Great job. Oh, and do I hear American Idol in the background of your video?

Oh, and do I hear American Idol in the background of your video? Yes, Phoenix loves her semiweekly dose of Seacrest and Simon... but someone had to film while I demonstrated

Joe could give the people over at Hasbro some pointers! Nice job, maybe Marvel Series 3 or a Tourny will have this guy.
