I don't have any Marvel Attacktix aside from the Marvel Heroes and Ghost Rider starter sets, but now that I've been able to accumulate the success rates on all of the special powers, I'm going to review the entire line, based on stats as well as a few odd comments I've heard around these boards.
M01-Avengers Spider Man--On the surface this thing looks nice, a 10pt striker with 12 speed and Wickets special power. On the bad side I've heard it said that his strike is comparable in crappiness to the Grievous Bodyguard. That would make it seem like 10 Jedi Knights and 10 Wickets don't have much to fear from Spidey. I'm also not entirely sold on the Avengers as a solo team.
M02-The Punisher--I'm not really sure why this is a common. I can't really see myself ever putting more than one of this guy in an army. His special only happens if he's the last figure on the table, and having two Punishers kind of defeats the purpose. As for the figure itself, there are a lot of good 20pt figures with the same missile, including another figure among the Marvel Knights called Western Ghost Rider, who I must say I'd rather use.
M03-Elektra--I've heard bad things about her strike too. Two 10pt strikers among Marvel figures and neither is a strong strike. This being said, the 50% attackback for Daredevil isn't bad, and both are inexpensive enough to use piles of them in the same army. I could see Elektra + Daredevil being a worthwhile swarm.
M04-Electro--I would have to say the best thing about Electro would be the special power. 6/26 Rally(Sinister Syndicate) is pretty nice for a 10pt trooper. He has a medium missile, but by the looks of his sculpt I would guess he's hard to aim. Also judging by the sculpt this figure is fairly unbalanced for a small based figure, and can't tripod so I'd expect rather bad defense. Despite the larger missile, I would guess Electro doesn't compare to S4 Greedo and the Minicon.
M05-Pyro--Really hard to see this as a 20pt figure. The stats we saw from the spoiler didn't set the world on fire, and his shootback(Brotherhood) is only 31%. With all the great 20pt medium launchers, and tough 10pt launchers like Greedo and Minicons, I'm not really excited about Pyro. Not many are.
M06-Beast--This figure looks incredible. The Wookie fist was by all accounts a fantastic strike if not the best strike in the game, and thats what we have here. We also have a really short and squat sculpt on a medium base, so this figure could easily have the missile resistance of figures like Overhaul and the Minicons. 38% Rally(X-Men) is just incredible on a 20pt striker, and with 20pt Wolverine and 30pt Gambit, as well as the fact that Beast can Rally other Beasts, this could easily be the best common figure ever.
M07-Hulk--I haven't seen this figure in person but the Hulk looks big and heavy. I could see this figure, particularly while holding the can in front of itself, being possibly as difficult to shoot as Super Optimus Prime. I may be going out on a limb there, but there it is. 46% Recover isn't earth shattering, but on a figure with missile resistance at least as good as the better Transformers if not Super Optimus Prime, its interesting. The can is larger and heavier than Chripa's Rock, and more symetrical. The Hulk's head also doesn't seem to be in the way of the throw, like Chirpa's could be. People have said the throw is more effective, and I would assume that to be true by looking at it. Whether its a reliable enough attack to make this figure useful remains to be seen.
M08-Captain America--This figure looks interesting to say the least. The first shooter/striker in Attacktix, and it can do both on the same turn. People who have this figure have said that the launcher is effective enough to kill things reliably. I would tentatively guess that this is going to be a great figure, though demanding to use. Its a 40pt investment, with a special power that requires it to be your last figure to activate. Therefore, you would hold Cap back and throw the shield, while everything else goes for broke attacking and getting killed. Having a speed of 8 seems right, since this is not a figure you advance with your first wave. As the last figure on the table, Captain America recovers with Last Stand, and can conceivably kill at least two figures a turn by itself, by moving to strike one(possibly into others) and then throwing the shield at another. I can't wait to try it.
M09--Wolverine-Its a prodder and still the better of the two Wolverines. 46% Recover isn't bad at all on a 20pt prodder, and the special effect is just icing. Even if he dies, Beast can bring him back.
M10--Pole Swinging Spider Man-Heard a comment that the strike is hard to hit with. Could we have another kicking Kenobi? The special power seems easy to accomplish, since there are many Marvel figures who don't seem to require their faction. The Ghost Riders, Thing, Mystique, Punisher, Captain America, Sabertooth, ect. Rescue comes in at 46%, and isn't the greatest thing on a striker. I'd almost say this is a figure you use for the effect more than anything else. Best on high variety 200pt Marvel teams. I don't think this figure really makes the grade on 100pt teams.
M11--Thor-People have called the downward smash difficult to kill things with. Me, I'm a little more optimistic than that. In any case I think this figure is too expensive. 30pts for triple force push at 54% and a strike that isn't going to kill more than one figure(if it kills that figure at all) is a little too steep in my book. Could be fun to use, but I'm not sure how useful this guy is if you're trying to win.
M12--Mystique-Also known as use in place of Pyro. Also known as the lightning rod, as in the figure your opponents will be trying to kill first. Since she really isn't dangerous until she gets close, that could be a good thing, protecting your more valuable figures. Or you could hold her in reserve, and steal strikers with her after they get close. Her special attack could be devastating, not necessarily seeing it in every game, but she can still shoot. We all wondered what the Emperor would be like if he didn't suck. Here it is.
M13--Magneto-I have no opinion at this time. I have no idea what to expect from that bullet, and until I do I have no idea what to make of Magneto. 61% Sacrifice, which is nice and he qualifies as a leader for Sabertooth.
M14--Venom-30pt uppercut just doesn't seem cost effective. This figure looks big, and could have some Sabertooth style beefiness defense, but 30pts is steep for a single killing strike and a non-earth shattering special power. 38% Recruit(Sinister Syndicate) is nice, but I'd hardly call it game breaking.
M15--Doctor Octopus-The strike has been called incredible in terms of power. That being said, he's a 30pt striker with a special power bordering on worthless. Stun against two factions is just too specific, and its not even a high ratio at only 54%.
M16--Daredevil-Its a 20pt small based uppercut striker, but there are some advantages. Advancing him behind a pack of Elektras should get him a free kill or so, and his special effect I would expect to actually happen from time to time. He's cheap enough to work, especially in multiples of both him and Elektra, and his special power(31% Evade-Marvel Knights)doesn't seem wasted since you don't want to use him without Elektras, and Punisher and the two Ghost Riders would fill out a 200pt team nicely. Targetting him first and having the Evade come up gives your Elektras a free turn, so I like that he helps her out in return.
M17--Gambit-Dare I say it: the first Force Blast figure worth using? We've always said Force Blasts would be useful for 30pts. So now we have one for 30pts, with a good special power for a Force Blaster in 38% Rescue(X-Men), and a 20pt striker in Beast who can Rally Gambit at a nice rate and also triggers his Rescue. I'm expecting to like Gambit.
M18--Thing-Has a Downward Smash, and I don't know what to think about that. This is a striker with Battle Cry, and who does that remind you of? Everybody's favorite hero Kit Fisto. Lets compare: Kit Fisto is 20pts, Thing is 30pts--advantage Kit Fisto. Kit Fisto Battle Cries at 77%, Thing is only 50%--advantage Kit Fisto. Kit Fisto has one of the most powerful strikes in the game, while Thing has a downward smash that kills at best one thing and possibly isn't reliable for doing that--advantage Kit Fisto. Thing sits on a large base and is big and heavy, and can easily be assumed to be harder to kill, so thats one thing, but it doesn't come close to making up for everything else. Use Kit Fisto instead.
M19--Spider Man-Oh my god, a figure I actually have. I must admit I've never fired his web blast at another figure. I've heard that this launcher is weak. Spider Man's stun affects Leaders at 54%. I'm not terribly impressed with that. Its a 30pt launcher with lackluster range, and a mildly useful special power. Yawn.
M20--Wolverine-Has a strike I would most compare to Crumplezone, and we all have our opinions on that. His arm is short, and I've had a great deal of trouble getting solid hits with it. Also, of my two Wolverines, one has a loose shoulder and the arm does not stay level when striking, making it miss even more. Attackback(Leader) is an impressive 69%, but this is a 30pt figure, and most leaders are 30pts and up, so we're starting with at least a 60pt investment here. Combined with the crappy strike, I can't really recommend this figure.
M21--Green Goblin-I've actually used the Goblin in games, and the Pumpkin Bomb seems to hit harder than you would think it should. I'd rank it as more powerful than the medium missile based on my brief experiences with it. Capture is only 38%, but is devastating when it goes off. With the defense of a large base, this figure could be marginally playable.
M22--Sabertooth-The easiest to use strike ever. Don't expect it to kill two things that aren't next to each other. That being said, I like a 20pt striker with 54% Recover(Leader) and 12 speed. Especially when that striker is a large and heavy sculpt that compares favorably with most Transformers in terms of absorbing missile hits without falling down.
G03--Ghost Rider-I have two of these. One has a stiff chain and can be used in the same manner as any lightsaber figure, and has an incredible strike. The other has a rubbery flimsy chain and you have to pull back the arm from the shoulder to get any sort of power into the strike. I'm not sure if use will weaken my stiff Ghost Rider. In either case this is a 12 speed, 20pt striker with Vengence(Attacker) at 54% success rate. Think of it as Yoda-Lite. This figure can also tripod better than any striker I've ever seen. Me likes.
G04--Western Ghost Rider-This could be one of the most difficult sculpts to shoot in the entire game. Unless you get what amounts to a side shot, there is really no place on this figure for a missile to really hit. Its two dimensional, like a piece of paper. Also its low to the ground, with all of the benefits therein. I wasted maybe six shots trying to kill this darn thing. I haven't tried it myself, but someone on the boards said this figure is suceptible to base shots, and that rains on the parade somewhat. That being said this is a 20pt medium launcher that is reasonably easy to aim. The special power is good old General Grievous's Vengence(Warrior). Its only 46%, but it doesn't require a Droid Army figure. A nice value for a 20pt launcher, and works well with any faction.
G05--Blackheart-I'm still waiting to find out if Vanquish recovers Blackheart even if your opponent doesn't have a dead figure. If it does, this figure could be worth 40pts, since Vanquish is 61% and eats the dead pile to prevent rallies. If it isn't, this figure is never worth 40pts and should not be used.
G06--Abigor-Seemed kind of generic at first. 20pts, the equivalent of a medium launcher, trooper, special power Attackback(The Hidden). That Attackback comes in at 18/26 69%. This guy got a whole lot scarier. There are only three Hidden right now, with Blackheart maybe or maybe not being worth the cost, Abigor, and Wallow who has the same point cost, similar attack, and the same special power which makes you wonder if its the same percentage. A pack of Abigors could be a nice launcher compliment to an army.
Spider Man Origins(I'm getting tired so this will be short)
Doctor Octopus--23% recruit is crap for a 30pt striker, but I'd still use this version over the one in the boosters.
Green Goblin--no way 23% rally is better than 38% capture.
Armored Spider man--20pts, Heavy Force Blast, 38% Battle Cry, and a large base sounds very playable. Not sure about the speed. Add in six speed and I'm really happy.
Spider Man--10pts with 50% Attackback Spider Man. That sounds like the most ridculous thing in the entire game, crappy strike or not. 10 of these? How fast is this figure, because I saw one a while ago with a speed of six? If this thing has six speed, this might be a balanced figure, but this thing is scary if its any faster than that.
M01-Avengers Spider Man--On the surface this thing looks nice, a 10pt striker with 12 speed and Wickets special power. On the bad side I've heard it said that his strike is comparable in crappiness to the Grievous Bodyguard.
