I'm just curious, does anyone here already play any of the current Marvel games...HeroClix, Superhero Showdown, or Battle Dice? I used to play HeroClix, but haven't tried the other two.

Played HeroClix - sold most of them. I really enjoyed these until the rules got too insance to follow, and I had no one left to play with.
Played around with Battle Dice. I only own a Spider-Man. I enjoyed it, but not enought to buy it. (Maybe a HUGE cheap lot on eBay)
I am not interested at all in Showdown, though Phoenix really wants that mini-Spidey in the Starter Set... but that can wait until clearance time comes to Wal-Mart!

i used to play heroclix.......i was pretty addicted to it for awhile, too............now everything just seems too complicated with it...............plus, they've retired so many of my figures i dont even know who's "legal" or not anymore............when i first saw battledice i thought i'd try them out.......they're alright.........i own a few, but never play..........i do own 1 marvel superhero showdown figure..........i got it for REALLY cheap so i thought i'd check it out..........after that one figure, i will NEVER play that game..........the figure is too darn delicate to do anything with

I was the one that pushed for the front page article content while I was there. Also, I was a playtester group leader for the game for several years. Unfortunately, I was a bit of an all or nothing collector...and it became way too difficult to keep up with the game.

I just recently purchased a Marvel Legends Showdown, out of curiousity really. I've never played any of those previously mentioned game, I'm a neophyte to all of this stuff. INCLUDING ATTACKTIX. My quest to find out more about this Showdowns game ultimately led me to this board. I like the detail and the articulate posability of the figures. You can bend them in some really cool poses. The game seems fun and fast paced and doesn't require a lot of reading and/or experience with other RPG or in-depth board games. That said, I'm both curious and disappointed to see what Hasbro will bring to the table with the Attacktix figures. The posability feature will be missed, at least by me. That's part of the fun.

I am into Battle Dice but that's it. I did a search for Marvel games and I came across this site. I am really looking forward to the Marvel figures. I didn't play the Star Wars version at all. Can anyone give me a quick run down of the basic rules? Thanks.

I used to play HeroClix but I stopped because it just got to be a pain to make a team. It was way too time consuming. I just want to be able to grab a few figures and play for fun if I want.

Can anyone give me a quick run down of the basic rules? Thanks. If you are referring to Attacktix rules. They are really easy to get started (and that is what attracted many of us to it.) Using the figure value based on offensive and defensive strengths you create 100 points teams. There are two basic figure types slower shooters and faster strikers. The object is to be the last one standing. You take turns moving your figures and taking two attacks per turn either shooting or if you are in range striking your opponents figures. Whoever is the last one standing wins. Pretty much that easy to get started. There are effects on the bottom of your figure that sometimes come into play when the figure dies that can help your team or hurt your opponent. The real strategy to pick and use the best combination of figures that works together along with your playing strengths to give you the best chance of victory.
