Joe, I dig that example chart you made.... Nice.
Yb, I also like your figure template, looks sweet... The code however looks like a nightmare. Having trouble locating where the image name goes.

I hate to double post, but I like the idea of bumping this just a tad.... I want some criticism on the chart I put together here.Tell me what you think, let me have it.

For the figure info, all you have to do is copy the following code into your page: {{Figure Info |image= |name= |seriesname=Star Wars, Transformers, or Marvel |seriesnum= |figurenum= |rarity=Common, Rare, Super Rare, Boxed, Starter, or Tournament |uniclass= |attclass=Leader, Captain, Trooper, Warrior, Specialist, or Mega |points=10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, or 80 |speed=4, 6, 8, 10, 12, or 14 |basesize=Small, Medium, Large, or Mega |attack= |powername= |affected= |required= |percent= }}
...with the appropriate deletions of irrelevant info. The image filename goes right after the image= tag As far as the table, it still overflows its bounds and hides the text on the right, so it may yet need some shrinking. I'm still not sure how I feel about having the full table presented. On the one hand, it gives all the information one needs to peruse the various figures and choose among them. On the other hand, it's unwieldy for the naive user to look at and digest. We might want to have a summary list (like what I remember for the SW figures) for the newbies. The TF list looks better from a design perspective, but it's less informative.

Oh wow... Thats awesome.. So I should get something that looks somewhat like this? Also, take a look at the Marvel guide... I think I shrunk it up as far as you can (the top one).

Oh wow... Thats awesome.. So I should get something that looks somewhat like this? That's EXACTLY it! The hope is that I'll eventually get some templates for SW, TF, and Marvel info boxes (well, actually SW, TF, and Marvel page templates, with the appropriate color scheme built into the template call). The real hope is that I can eventually code the template box to assign automatically figures to all of their relevant categories, based on the info in the box. Hrm...shoot. Even the smallest version basically blocks out some of the right column of the screen for me. Drat.

Okay, so, I took the liberty to transfer the data from Malform's chart (Looks good, by the way) to each individual Marvel figure's article using Yodabreaker's code. I'm not sure if his code is the universally accepted way of compiling each figure's stats, but I did it anyway. Feel free to edit/ change completely the articles.
So, is everyone going to use YB's code to add the data to the figure articles? Just wanted to make sure before I take another hour and a half to move into the Star Wars series.

What resolution are you using on your Monitor YB?
I'm good on the two I have here at 1600 x1200 and 1280 x 1024, but I'd guess it is an issue at anything smaller.

I think YB is looking at it on his Pam Pilot Looks ok on my monitors, too Malform, I like the look, the chart is as compact as ever... cellpadding could drop to 1, but that might look ugly. On most browsers, 3 looks to be staying "in bounds" The figure, floating box is nice. I would like to see SW and Attacktix classes linked to the category section

I think it's because I've been viewing it on 1280x960 (laptop) resolutions and with windows that don't fill the screen. Maybe we should have a note on there, something to the effect of "Best experienced in at least a 1280x1024 screen resolution"? When I look at it full screen on my 1280x1024 display, it's all good And on another note, I made a boo-boo on the figure box template: I forgot to enter a Speed row! For all those who have updated figures already, you can just add another row in the Figure Info template with the line: |speed=
with whatever the appropriate figure speed is. For future reference, I've put speed in between points and basesize, but as long as it's added somewhere in the Figure Info code, it should display in the correct location.

Sorry to double-post, but I wanted to ask this of everyone specifically:
Should I go ahead and create separate SW, TF, and Marvel Figure Info templates, so that there'll be a minimum of fuss when people create pages for these figures, and it comes time to change the colors of the boxes to represent the appropriate universe?

Ok, so it would seem we are all happy with the layout of the charts... So now I wonder about how series' are called out. Should there be a GR chart and a SM chart? Or should "GR" and "SM" be in the figure number (like GR-1, so forth), and all of them listed in a "Series 1" chart? FYI, I can crank these out pretty darn fast... Export from access comma delineated, replace "," with "||", and a tad of manual editing.... Pretty easy. *edit* Sorry to double-post, but I wanted to ask this of everyone specifically: Should I go ahead and create separate SW, TF, and Marvel Figure Info templates, so that there'll be a minimum of fuss when people create pages for these figures, and it comes time to change the colors of the boxes to represent the appropriate universe? If the plan is to display different universes differently, then yes.

Sure, I'd say that would be cool. What colors are you thinking about for each universe? Also, for the code, are you going to add a row for effects? With Marvel and series 5 Star Wars being filled with effect figures, this could come in pretty handy.

OK, then I'll get cranking on the separate universe templates - hopefully, that'll be the last template update for quite some time I'll post the links to the appropriate ones to use, once I'm done with them. As for what to do for the special series...well, I dunno. It gets *really* messy when you consider things like SVT. I'm tempted to make them have their own series, with the colors of the info boxes for each figure done according to their approrpiate universe. ETA: D'oh! Good catch, Ben Kenobi! Effects will be added. As for the actual colors to be used, I'm somewhat agnostic. I suck at those kinds of choices The only one I had any strong feelings on was to have Autobot red and Decepticon purple as the two colors for the TF figures.

All right, after a few hours of poking around, trying to figure out how in the world to do different colors, I've finally figured it out. The colors for Star Wars will have the template names (apparently, Templates are the "variables" and "functions" of Wikis) SW_BG1, SW_BG2, SW_HL1, and SW_HL2 (background colors 1 and 2, within-box highlight colors 1 and 2). Transformers will have TF_BG1/2 and TFHL1/2, and Marvel will have MV_BG1/2 and MV_HL1/2. That's how we'll be able to have different colors in the appropriate infoboxes! Give me about half an hour to make the appropriate templates, and we'll be able to have nifty infoboxes to go along with 'em
